Patient accounts of Columbia Wellness are gathered in this section from RehabSeekers and from around the web.
When reading, give most weight to concrete detail, such as how quickly an appointment was offered or how family members were kept informed.
Really horrible crisis worker this morning. No knowledge or expertise on PTSD. No compassion. Very rude. Why do you have people on this line that antagonize people who need help? I was polite. It's hard to reach out,… without getting slapped across the face by someone who needs counseling themselves.I can see by the reviews just how professional you are....
Tiffany Ames gave my information to another client. Yup thanks for adding to the hard time I was already having. Wowza! Other staff gossips about patients too.
Columbia Well.. that's not legal. They distributed my health information with employers and others that have zero legal reason to be aware of anything. The counselor I was given was not able to provide any resources… like mindfulness techniques or therapy with Jung shadow work. I spent 20+ years working with psychologists before I arrived at Columbia Wellness. I went through natural helper training in highschool and I would say that even 20 years later anyone else that went to that training would have more tools than who I was given as a counselor. I explained very thoroughly to my prescriber that I had spent the last 20+ years building an environment that allowed me to work around my anxiety challenges and that I used riding my bike to regulate my emotions through the natural production of dopamine and serotonin which stimulate the cerebellum and that I was dealing with a dorsal vagal shutdown and was trying to stabilize my environment so that I could get comfortable again. The prescriber taunted me with the fact that he had the ability to communicate with my employer and kept prescribing more stimulants. I have a very sensitive stomach and most medication causes more discomfort than help and was making my anxiety far worse. He didn't care and said here try Venlafaxine. You can double the dose weekly until you feel better completely avoiding the fact that that's an extremely hard prescription to get away from. He had the prescriptions he planned to put me on picked out before our appointments. I had previous trouble outside of Columbia Wellness with one of their utility personnel and would get phone calls from Columbia Wellness with a man telling me to turn myself in to the police.
Extremely unprofessional! My girlfriend was waiting patiently in the waiting room for me when she witnesses a staff member come into the front desk office area and begin talking about a patients addictive behavior with… the front desk secretary who is not a counselor or a psychiatrist about a patient and her addictive behavior while doing a poor attempt at trying to talk quietly but obviously not enough because my girl listens to them talk about her numerous addictive behavior as made evident by their laughing at the circumstances and ending the conversation with saying it is sad that the client would act out with such behavior. I don't see why the counselor needs to talk about the behavior with the secretary but even if the conversation was nessacary to make the front desk worker aware of the behavior in order to prevent who knows what from occuring the main point of this entry is to say they shouldn't be talking where my girlfriend who has no association with Columbia Wellness whatsoever can here about private actions of another patient. It also goes to show you their empathy in the fact they were clearly entertained by the patients behavior that is most likely due to her suffering from addiction. So if you want you behavior to be talked about in front of strangers and for staff to laugh at you behind your back getting pleasure at your expense. Then I guess Columbia Wellness is your kind of place but it's not for me. I will be getting my treatment elsewhere from here on out. March 17th 2026.
I literally waited 45 minutes past my appointment just now because the guy was having “computer problems”. They acted like I wasn’t human just for wanting basic dignity. I don’t think they are taking their job very… seriously and people’s mental health either. It is disgusting that a place and says they advocate for their clients would allow this
I brought a family member to the Wellness Recovery Center after hours a week ago. The family member was in active mental health crisis and had called to verify that crisis beds were available. It was an awful experience… and we ended up leaving. When we got there, the staff person who let us in, didn’t say anything to us, aside from asking if my family member had been there before. He said no and the staff person just disappeared into the back, leaving us in the waiting room with a few other people who had also been waiting for quite a while and one person who never even got checked in because the staff assumed they were with someone else. How hard is it to explain what to expect and let the client know when to expect you back? The staff member reappeared after about 15 minutes with a specimen cup, which she said was for a drug screen. Still no explanation of the admission process, or what to expect, and she disappeared again. About 20-30 minutes later, the staff member returned with some intake paperwork on a clipboard. Still no asking why he was there or any explanation of the intake process. After about two hours of waiting, with no information about this process, all the while more people coming into the small waiting area, we went outside to get some air. My family member reported that they didn’t want to stay and felt safe going home with their partner. This was a terrible experience for a person who was already in crisis. The people in the waiting room were more helpful and kind than the staff.
My son was in this program and we basically got pushed right through it.Appointments were always getting mixed up.I called to file a complaint and address the issue and because the person had worked there for so long… they basically didnt believe my son or I.Just looked past it and said that she would never do something like that. The fact that no one called me back to talk about it actually concerns me.On a good note, there were two people who we worked with that were pretty amazing and did do a good job.I wish the best for them.
I have nothing but kindness, compassion and empathy from the front desk, intake and now my therapist. Amazing place to go for your mental health!
They completely dropped my son as a patient with absolutely NO warning. Worst clinic imaginable!
Columbia wellness is 5 stars all across the board. The counselors are fantastic, and they are truly concerned about each patient. Also I might add the resources they have show true concern for the patients. Between… Columbia Wellness and Recovery Cafe in Kelso, There is no reason for anybody to be homeless and on the streets !!! JESUS BLESS !!!
Will make your mental health worse. Don’t even bother. Get help online instead, no local groups are any good.
I have been seeing a Dr. at Columbia Welness and a Therapist for a few years now. I have confidence in my Dr. and a good relationship with my Therapist. All of the staff has always treated respectfully and with… kindness. . I am more than satisfied with the staff . I haven't ever had a bad experience with Columbia Wellness
Terrible experience with Stephanie, a school-based counselor. What she did was so inappropriate that I don't even care to share the experience. Find another company.
This place is a joke. I was told I would get a grant to pay for my treatment since I didn't have health insurance. I finished my treatment and now getting hounded by debt collectors over a year later. When I call the… office they tell me there's nothing they can do about it. This is wrong you can't tell someone they won't have to pay and then charge them for it
This place was very nice as far as I'm concerned. The facility is nice. The private rooms are nicely done with dark blue fuzzy soft blankets, you get two and you can drag them into the day room where there is group a… few times a day. Facilitated by loving caring people. There are movies, Wii and games. There is no negativity in this place. None. The food is good and there are lots of good snacks with fruit and a fridge full of stuff to eat and drink. The nurses are wonderful. Whenever I was in my room crying they were so sweet and talked with me. They listened and remembered the things I was having a hard time with. Also very supportive with phone numbers of doctors and various programs and places to go. They were sincere and empathetic and just so nice. There was always a therapist on hand the few times I had sudden anxiety and PTSD flashbacks. I didn't have one negative encounter with any of the staff there. The place must have changed from the previous reviews I read. The prescriber was such a good listener. Very professional and very understanding. Very everything and never goofy or animated in a way that some prescribers and psychiatrists can be. My only other experience with being an inpatient is At Johns Peace Health. Columbia Wellness was so much better. I went in there already knowing that I was not going to get the meds that I really needed and they worked with me as much as I worked with them on finding acceptable alternatives. My accepting that I have to be proactive about my anxiety attacks was a huge help for all of us. I realized that I can't expect to be fixed by drugs or other people. I did get some okay alternative for anxiety and I'm working on techniques to help me gain self confidence and help lessen my fear of the symptoms of my condition. I would feel confident referring a loved one here. There is nothing that falls through the cracks and the nurses and therapists treat everyone as equals without prejudice or judgement. I was there for seven days and the only reason I wanted to leave was because I missed my phone and baby monkey videos. Lol... I will go back again if I get squirrelly. If you have mental issues and need a safe place to get it together then I hope you go here and have a helpful experience like I did.
Can’t call back even if they said I could.
I was in a high trauma vulnerable situation, with a high need to assert myself. They tried to neuter me, minimized previous mistreatment I receive to protect themselves. But worst of all, it seems pretty apparent that… they coordinated manipulation and abuse with other mental health facilities. I have a high degree of actualization, this combined with my vulnerable situation brought all this corruption out of the woodwork. My guess is a lot of people actually get these jobs just for some power trip, at least in poor areas like Aberdeen and Hoquiam. Either way, they’ll throw you under the bus if it serves their interests.
I'm a falls thru the cracks girl. I came here n was getting help. But these therapist don't seem to stay long. This was my 2nd attempt at seeking help. Both times the therapist quits 4 another job. I told them in the… beginning I can only do this once more. She quit. The New therapist Jan, never called 4 my phone appt A MONTH AGO. I literally just spent 10 mins arguing with the receptionist with her saying they've called me n my voice-mail not set up. My voice mails set up. I'm home on my phone all day no one's called. All she wanted to do was argue & insinuate I was lieing. I need to find a therapist not connected a drug rehab. Clearly she thought I was less then. She had the audacity to think I needed her help with my phone when in fact I was explaining that whom ever logged into the computer that my voice mails not set up was lieing. I've had this # for 10 years n I've had this phone for 3 years. Now I wouldn't go back because someone lies n the receptionist was rude n mean.
I haven't heard from them in years, then a bill is sent to collection for $500.... I have insurance, but I don't know how the bill wasn't taken care of by Medicare..... they say they won't refuse service for non… payment.... but I am and was insured. .. where this bill come from....
david paris is a problematic provider. he told me he would prescribe my same medications if I transferred over, he did not, and he claimed I said I was addicted to pain killers and that’s why he wouldn’t be giving me my… ADHD meds, after I had transferred over under the guise that my treatment would remain under the same meds. My disability case could potentially be ruined because of this mans attitudes towards medicine and my prescriptions. a huge waste of time transferring my services to columbia wellness. that and it's hard to see a therapist in the first place, and when you get in many employees are not comforting at all. one kept calling me by the wrong name. Another would smirk at me like a loony person. insulting and exhausting! I am not biased. I tried to schedule with different providers to no avail. I will give three stars because the crisis line has always been there for me. But I don’t feel I trust the providers there enough to go back for services.
Great place to help disabled people and mental problems
Wish I would've read some of the reviews before deciding to go here. This place is a joke. DO NOT go here, you will regret it. I'm upset that I have to even rate them with one star. They are definitely 0 star worthy.… It's obvious "wellness," is the last thing they're concerned with. Reading through the comments i noticed that there's aboutv4 or 5 negative reviews for every positive review. If your business is a matter of life and death and you're only making 20-25% of your patients happy you are failing and need to figure out what you're doing wrong because for every 20-25 people you're saving there's potentially 75-80 people who you're directly responsible for them dying.
Whatever bad rap this place has received in the past, they may have adjusted to provide good services moving forward? I had a recent visit and they did me right. No complaints. Detoxed in a few days and now I'm very… happy.
Super unimpressed with the reception on their crisis team. Not only did they lack empathy during our conversation, they were very defensive and combative to my questions. I was simply looking for basic information and… resources! I dont go out of my way to make negative reviews, however, this behavior from a mental health clinic was absolutely abhorrent. Incredibly bizarre. I truly feel sorry for those who have called this place in a time of crisis, and received this kind of treatment.
If you are lucky enough to get care here, between the whole team of people they have working together to help individuals and family. I cannot say enough positive things about this agency. They have hands down been the… only support and advocate for our family. They have helped us more times with compassion and care to our family. We have no one eles and they are here for us. I dont care if this is a public post because I hope this can reach anyone or a family that needs help. This is a resource I can never repay in my life for what they have done to help and be there for my family. Trust truly a blessing and a change of life for the fight for a healthy future with the help of professionals that truly care and are above excellence with families and children.
Some of the most amazing people work here!! If you need help finding your way through this crazy world, I say give them a chance!! They're 5+stars in my opinion!!!!
I've had wonderful help from CW
I would give zero stars if I could, complete waste of time, waited forever to get the appointment only to be told that they couldn’t help because my daughter because she was not on state insurance. The counselor/ intake… person was completely rude and no empathy whatsoever. She could tell my daughter was in crisis and didn’t care one bit.
We've been going to Columbia Wellness for many years. Everyone there is knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. We have nothing but positive things to say.
I personally have never had an issue with the staff here. i've had 2 counselors in 4 years and understand people need to move forward from their positions sometimes for different reasons. I've had the same meds dr since… i started. and i understand my part in being patient with them and being consistent and proactive in my own treatment. I enjoy going here. i love my counslor. remember, your attitude has alot to do with your treatment results. please give them another chance. nobody is perfect.
