Jim Taliaferro CMHC – Altus

I called over the phone and was asked to be at the one in duncan by 4, I get there and the front desk lady had no idea how to help me and said "that's a so and so question" like what? Why are you working the front desk… if you can't help? And why was I told to come in at 4 and told I needed to come back tomorrow when so and so was there. Extremely unprofessional and honestly just irritated me. I left in tears because I just normally don't have time out of my day to do things for myself and the one time I did, it was pointless and a waste.

I went to the facility on April 1 asking for help. I made 3 different trips talking with different people. I had told them I've already been diagnosed with PTSD and GAD. A few days ago I had another visit with them and… each trip my anxiety is building because I still have no medication and I feel like I am getting nowhere.I ended up walking out because my anxiety won't just let me sit there and feel like I am getting no answers.The last two trips I went home and continuously cried until I was exhausted. I have already looked into other sources . I never had this problem with Taliferro in the past but if this happens to everyone I feel sorry for the patients.

The amount of times they change doctors, the over prescribing medication, I would look elsewhere if it’s possible for you.

Jim Taliaferro is the #1 best Mental Health service I've ever had in my life! No joke whatsoever! Very amazing and caring Staff and Doctors! I mostly go to the one in Altus for Dr. follow-up's, case management, and… rehab, and they are very amazing, and caring! I highly recommend them!

The staff is really nice, but you do not want to be in that building on a humid day. It's way too hot.

Folks here are very friendly and helpful. Everyone had a smile and said hello. If you got a few screws loose I definitely recommend the people.

This was definitely not the place for our needs. A whole lot of senseless appointments and agendas!

My experiences with Taliaferro was exceptional. They have saved me from a life filled with dread and suicide attempts. My team is efficient and caring. If you need help, do your part and this place can help turn your… life around.

I would not recommend I went here for 2 years and all dr herd talked about was my sexualy life he never filed meds and when I would disagree with him he would make fun of my opinion and discredit me because "I'm a women"

Just curious. Do I have to right to refuse blood work and still receive treatment?

Why doesn't Taliaferro have Security? They need it. Secure your facility and staff Taliaferro.... All the LCHC clinics and CCMH in Lawton has Security officers in waiting areas.

Starting to believe this is a research center that receives profit went for over 10 yrs and can't receive medication that was prescribed outside the clinic. Thinking I should sue! . Support Ph.d's

If I could rate 0 stars I would… Worst experience ever, extremely short staffed, rude and NOBODY communicates with each other. PLEASE go somewhere else…

I have been trying for months to get help with my anger and depression ans suicidal thought so i can work on getting visitation with my daughter but i am unable to get any response back from my so called case manager… Heather. This is very unprofessional and disheartening trying to get help in Oklahoma. Please dont go here for help because you wont get any but a bill for there no services.

If a zero was possible! This place should be investigated for quickly flipping beds AND untrained staff. As a mother of a mentally ill endangered adult I am so upset and outraged at the lack of help AND blatant… negligence on behalf of this place. Please drive HOURS AND HOURS from this place if you can find another mental care facility for the sake of your loved one!!!!!! Below is a VIDEO of a staff member DISMISSING a phycotic episode as a cry for attention.....they only kept him for a day and didn't see anything concerning ALTHOUGH qwe called and begged for help! Forwarning them of what we knew he would be capable of by what he was saying. WHO DOES THAT?!?!?!?!??! 2 Days after this.... my son entered the local Walmart and tore the store up causing an "an active shooter" type of call and leaving shoppers fleeing the store! They endangered my son by risking being SHOT by police!!!!! They endangered my son by releasing him into the community and denying him needed help. Below is a video taken the day our pleas for HELP went unheard just to clear a bed!!!!! I hope the administrator reads this! I hope the NEWS reads this! And I PRAY anyone that needs help for a family member or themselves stays far far away from this place!!!!!!! Now we don't know where he is!!!@! They state hipaa laws prevent them from atleast letting us knownhes there or safe!!!!!! They say he can contact us if he wants to..... HOW DOES SOMEONE CONTACT ANYONE THAT IS MENTALLY ILL AND DOESNT REMEMEBER PHONE NUMBERS! OMG! I am so terrified that my son is now wandering the streets instead of coming home!!!!!!!!!!

I've been going to Jim Taliaferro for 2 1/2 years. I've wasted gas(money) and my time on canceled appointments, because they didn't give me notice of cancelation for my appointment. The amount of canceled appointments… is higher than anywhere I've been seen at. Smh. They need to get more organized with patients charts/record. Like I said I've been going here for 2 1/2 years, had to update my records 3 times for my record because faculty didn't update like they should have been, which could be potentially a dangerous issue.

Im a current outpatient, and they randomly gave me a new case worker without any heads up, this new one refuses to answer emails, and hasnt returned my phone calls. I called the main building the other day and they said… to call back on Friday (yesterday as of writing this post) the phones just ring through so I tried again both building numbers (main and caseworker/therapy building) same thing today, just keeps ringing. I need their help and they are ignoring me. F this place they aren't there to help, just give you meds, watch you for a few months then ignore you. This place is a complete joke.

I wont say much but look at the PATIENT reviews NOT the family members or parent reviews...the patients will tell the truth online from their experience whereas they wont tell the truth to family who will write whatever… they heard online.

My wife desperately needed help for her schizophrenia and was suicidal and homicidal, took her there needing immediate help and they said since the police didn't bring her they wouldn't admit her inpatient and help her.… They said to leave and wait till she had another psychotic episode and then call the police and to have them bring her... Me and my mother explained she needed help and that she had been off her medication and we have been there for her but she is getting out of control and we are afraid for her well being because she is threatening to kill us and her new born baby and herself, we told them that and to please help! So after they would not help we had to leave, Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center is not the place to go for mental health services...! We ended up taking her to Norman regional hospital in Norman Oklahoma and they accepted her inpatient there at their psychiatric ward facility immediately so thank God there is a place that would actually help her...

I want to give props to Kelly, not sure of her last name, but she has been amazing!! She is my son's caseworker & has gone above & beyond w/us. I couldn't b more grateful for her help, support, & the fact that she truly… cares about our well being! Thanx Kelly!!!

Phones are never working. It's either busy or it just rings a few times, then stops. You would think someone would be manning the phones or at least have an automated system.

Would like to give big shout out and thank you too Rodney in pharmacy. My husband ran out of meds got really bad sick we tried to call and get an appointment with no luck but Rodney knew how sick he was and helped get… an appt and his meds, you rock Rodney

First off, the environment is very tense. Supervisors are rude to employees and treat them disrespectfully. It is obvious that the employees are unhappy and dislike their job. And it seems as if the employees should… admitted instead of us. To be a mental health facility, the company seems to be unconcerned about the well-being of their employees. Also check the heating system please, it is in need of repair. Food is nice though.
