Sound – Bellevue Detox and Rehab Services
Sound – Bellevue is listed as running intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. Ask directly about session times and frequency, as those details decide whether someone can realistically attend.

Sound – Bellevue Reviews and Ratings
For a view of Sound beyond its license and service list, read the reviews in this section. Patients and families use them to describe the admissions process, the staff and the day-to-day running of the program.
Staff polite and organized. They are supportive and respond to email questions. Great insights from counselor and really appreciate how they listen to problems
I attended this clinic 2 years ago after post traumatic stress from various events and I was not happy with the outcome I stopped attending around this time of the year 2 years ago and I can see why Washington has more… 1 star mental health clinics in the nation unfortunately I had a decent counselor but she left a few months after we had somewhat of a progress but yeah highly not recommended
I wish we could give zero stars. Somebody needs to pull their license. This place sucks on so many levels. Especially scheduling, communication, and even prescription refills. They absolutely do not care about their… patients. Patients are 0 priority. Heather, who is supposed to be a supervisor, claims she doesn't have time to call patients back regarding their prescriptions. Amanda, who is a psychiatrist, consistently schedule's appointments for days she's not even in the office, forcing patients to juggle their reschedules, and then blames the patient for not complying. This whole place is a joke.
It’s sad to realize this institution does NOT care about their clients. They refuse to communicate, support and provide care. My son and I have been working at trying to get counseling, medications and have had the… worst experience and lack of response from Sound Health. Please hear me…I have a son that has extreme mental health and I support his mental health progress… thru the years we have had great experiences. Sound health has been the worst. It is very disturbing the psychiatrist Marian has no communication, compassion or even professionalism in this process. She is a ghost! There is no team here at this institution that cares or works together to provide for their clients.
Ignatius is a rare and extraordinary counselor. As someone in my mid-forties experienced with excellent therapists (EMDR, lifespan integration, NVC), I hold a high bar—and Ignatius exceeds it. My elementary-aged son… lights up when it’s time for sessions—he walks out taller, more grounded, and equipped with tangible skills for emotional regulation and lasting resilience. Ignatius brings an extraordinary depth of skill and presence, meeting my son exactly where he is and supporting him through both a complex co-parenting dynamic and challenges with a bully at school. The growth has been truly transformative. Forever grateful!
I am the caregiver for my younger sister. She has an amazing disposition, but has complex mental and emotional needs related to autism. Her care team and I are working on getting her in to an assisted living facility to… better support her needs, and when she told her therapist, Michelle Tanchanco, about it Michelle completely dismissed her (thoroughly documented) disability and suggested she try section 8 housing instead! Unfortunately, it gets worse. Recently my sister asked for extra sessions to help address a particularly difficult problem related to past trauma, and she was again dismissed by Michelle who told her she "didn't think it was necessary." A couple of weeks later, still struggling, my sister again asked and Michelle's reply was to literally refer her to a number for suicide hotline. There was never any hint or indication that she was suicidal, and this was completely disgusting and out of line response. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONES TO BE CARED FOR BY THIS WOMAN.
Don’t go here . Your treated like a nobody
So to preface, I’m giving my current therapist 5 stars 100%. She’s super helpful and has been a tremendous help!! As for past care, I’d say it’s quite rocky. Some therapists and psychiatrists that I worked with were… good, while others not so much. Maybe we just didn’t fit, maybe they just weren’t that good, who cares. I think this is a great place to get help when you need it. If I wasn’t seeing my current therapist I’d probably rate a 3 or lower because trying to contact psychiatrists, can be a grueling process when in between appointments. And sometimes it felt like I was a “trial run” with some seemingly inexperienced therapists. As seen by reviews though, you have to have your own experience here to draw a conclusion on if you like it.
I've never experienced more than a few minutes of wait time on the phone and have had a wonderful experience here with my therapist. This was the only place that was accepting new clients on Medicaid after two hours and… 29 phone calls to various clinics that were listed on the Medicaid website. There have been snags and miscommunications for sure, but overall this place has been a great resource.
Same story as everyone else... found a counselor, things improving, counselor stops showing up to appts, tells me they skipped appt to go to Mariners game, ask for new counselor, completely ghosted by the office for a… month despite repeated attempts to remedy. Do not go here.
Had my initial appointment here the staff was great!
A healing & helpful place.
1.) Admit you need help. 2.) Seek help. 3.) Get ghosted by your doctor... 4.) ? 5.) Profit? The fact that this has been steadily reported from clients & happening over 5+ years, deserves an investigation. This place… needs basic actions to be taken and proper mental health care to be given.
Don't waste your time. I got through intake and the first appointment ok, however the next appointment was apparently never put into the system. I scheduled a new appointment to make up for that one and Dr. Christopher… Peterson never bothered to show up.
Jon Compu, another reviewer and I had the exact same experience. I don't know the guy, I just thought it was absurd that such a farfetched story can actually be true. This place is a great way to make the problems you… might have even worse. Skip it entirely. You can get better mental health advice by calling Carnival Cruise lines and just talking to an operator bout your day.
Doctor Kimberly Daniels is an amazing psychotherapist. She is so helpful, involving, great with our teenager son. Her help is just above all compliments. She was always in touch with us in the most difficult moments… with our son. Doctor Kim is so professional and supportive!
If I could give this place a zero in its rating. I went back in 2007 a while ago I know but guess what? The place left a horrible impression I never wanted to go back. First impression is the last impression as the… saying goes. The year I went I had an unprofessional 'intern' who seemed to act more like an awkward middle school aged teen. She was all nervous like she was on a first date. Didn't like that. That year I was awarded a grant to attend mental health sessions. I was proud of the award I received. Sound M.H. treated me like dirt though. I received poor quality of care. The intern was so incompetent she tried to make it up to me by providing me with sheets of downloaded documents on how to apply for college since I did address that in our sessions. But that was way too overwhelming for me. We both decided that we weren't a good fit. I was uncomfortable with her. Hope she isn't in the mental health field anymore. The dealbreaker with this agency was the mental health assessment I was supposed to have by a doctor. During my therapy (what a joke) the intern constantly told me to make sure I kept my mental health assessment appt with the Doctor. It was booked one month out. I said no problem. The day of I show up 15 minutes early to the agency. When I check in with reception the Doctor calls in speaking with the receptionist regarding MY APPT saying to her that HE CAN'T MAKE IT IN. The receptionist relays this to me w/o so much as an apology. I was livid. When I tried to file a grievance? I was chastised & it was turned around making this whole debacle my fault! What a professional company huh? Take it from me, if you are on your road to recover from whatever has happened & it has left you traumatized? Please don't waste your time with this so-called agency. Read the other reviews because it sure doesn't seem like there was ever any improvement over the years. I never trusted them again. Funny thing is a lot of other agencies to include the crisis line ALWAYS refer people to Sound. It is awful. I now live out of state this was one of the reasons. Don't give up on your quest for mental health if you live in Washington try: Other counties Other cities Don't give up but it is discouraging.
I have been going here for years, and I have absolutely nothing to complain about. They have been very helpful to me. It's too bad that there is a few of them that doesn't think the way I do. God Bless each and everyone… of you and your families! ♥️🙏🔥🌹🤗
THE WAY THIS FACILITY FUNCTIONS IS DETRIMENTAL TO MENTAL HEALTH. WHO cancels a follow up appointment for someone in inpatient care, a DAY before they get out? And then say the next slot is in 30 days? This is ridiculous.
If I could give zero stars, I would. My first experience with Sound was for my daughter. Her clinician never answered her phone calls & was poor at returning them. The SUD program unfortunately introduced her to other… youth with substance issues worse than hers. When I had been assessed, I asked for a therapist, trauma therapist, med management & case management. The guy that assessed me was leaving for a new role. I was left in the dust. I tried again a few months later & because of an issue with their system, I had to retake my 3 hour assessment They didn’t listen & I wasted months with Ryan Goux, a clinician who never followed through or remembered what we were working on. I kept waiting & asking for the rest of my services as I needed to start my meds & had trauma to process. He always was aloof. He was inattentive & disorganized. I had been looking for housing the entire time highlighting it’s importance as I was living in a hotel. I found out that Sound has their own housing program with case managers at some of their apartments. And they have section 8. He never mentioned it to me as a resource. I repeatedly asked to get reassigned because he never remembered to do what he said he would or even remember what we were working on. The management was no better. They acted like they were going to address my concerns but they didn’t. Finally they admitted they were short staffed & that I wouldn’t get a therapist until after I no longer needed a case manager. So MONTHS were wasted despite knowing I was trying to get back on my meds & stay sober. I do not recommend unless you want to work with interns who will leave, feeling unheard & invalidated that don’t care & reminding hold accountable someone intended to make your life easier.
Don't waste your time with this place & their uncaring staffs. Their phone system is down over a week and they just keep this place open for keeping their job & high pay. Horrible clinic..
Based on the reviews on here I will not be coming to SMH. I will give you my testimony. Back in '07' I went to SMH on a grant & was assigned to an intern. She was kind of unprofessional I have a suspicion that she was… attracted to me, there were signs which I noticed. The other major issue was when I was given an appointment to see a psychiatrist for an evaluation. This was booked one month out. All I heard was "make sure you show up to this appointment" "It's real important". Only to show up 15 min before the actual appt, I check in, and guess what happens? The good old Doc calls into SMH to say that he can't make it in! I was given no reason, I wasn't even given any apology. Had to EAT that humiliation of the Doc's no show!. I'm reading the very same thing in the reviews now. Amazing how little anything has changed with SMH.
You have between 8am and Noon to do intake, and if they run out of slots they send everyone home at noon. They do not allow you to schedule intake ahead of time. I went there 4 times and stayed 8am to noon before being… sent away. After finally completing intake, I scheduled an appointment with a psychiatrist. The day I arrived for my scheduled appointment I was first told that there was no record of my appointment. After a while they told me they had found my appointment, but that the psychiatrist had called out sick and they had forgotten to call the patients. That makes 5 times I paid bus money to come and go home while receiving zero services. This place is unprofessional, understaffed, and disorganized.
