Strong Memorial Hospital – Rochester Detox and Rehab Services

Strong Memorial Hospital – Rochester carries a listing for intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

You will find this provider at 2613 West Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York, 14623. This address falls in Monroe County. STOP USING THE CALL CENTER. STOP!!!! Your patients can’t stand it and the hold times are ridiculous. Their level of unprofessional and borderline HIPAA violations that these people are doing is CRAZY! Please

You can tell the people care, but the quality of the care is poor, especially psychiatry.

if you have an eating disorder this facility will make it worse. i have struggled with anorexia nervosa most of my life and my largest focus in treatment here was focused on my complex ptsd, eating disorder, and sexual… trauma. my therapist was well aware i had an intense history of being starved and starving myself, i told her i had only been eating small portions of fruit and plain popcorn out of anxiety around food. stonefaced she told me i "dont look like ive been eating that little', i had lost over 70 pounds in the span of a year , i was constantly trembling due to feeling my body freezing and my digestive system frankly was not working, by that point in my time with this facility i had lost a further 20 pounds and was medically underweight. when I told the situation to pam to simply try and find a new therapist she told me I needed to schedule a time to apologize to my therapist for hurting her feelings, while i sobbed over the phone that the situation with my therapist had resulted in my eating disorder being worse. i lost almost all hope in this facilities therapists, and due to not finding another therapist i was unceremoniously through the portal told I was no longer allowed to get psychiatric medication through strong ties, no email, no letter. this facility has undeniably made my eating disorder harder to manage.

Could not leave a worse review. Absolutely no transparency, uncaring and immature staff. I used to enjoy this place before my first therapist left, and I can certainly see why they did. Disorganized mess of a facility.… Will not let you transfer therapists pretty much at all, no specialized care, pretty much JUST an addiction facility. But, they don't even have a social worker to help out with insurance and housing concerns anymore, so that's just about useless too. Do not go here.

My husband was in crisis and they offered no help. They let him struggle and suffer alone with no guidance. Absolutely no follow up. I'm not sure what purpose your facility holds. When your patients need you the most… your absent... Are you too busy? Like every UR medicine facility. You all should be ashamed of the failure of care you provide.

They help the people and families that need, and want the help. I have and will continue to refer people to them. Thank you for all the support everyone at Strong has given to our family.😊

Dr. Small is caring and compassionate and no matter how many missteps you may take, I felt he always had my best interest in mind. I would recommend him as a psychiatrist any day of the week. He always had my best… interest in mind and I for the most part appreciated his judgment despite my circumstances. Could always be better but could always be worse. He is a great place to start if not more. There are still good providers out there despite the income gap.

Brian Zeller is a MONSTER!!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE BECAUSE YOU MIGHT GET HIM. He lies and does not listen to parents requests or wishes.

I’ve never had a bad therapist through strong ties and I’ve had various decent psychiatrists. The patient services are great but getting into the Strong Ties system is hard. Long wait lists, cryptic to downright useless… call lines, confusing structure of the various clinics that can sometimes end up getting you shuffled around until a good place for you is found. I would like to say though once you work out these issues and settle into a therapist and/or a psychiatrist the care is great and definitely worth it

★★☆☆☆
barbara Swingle4 years ago

Phone numbers are confusing and they don't list it is inpatient only. It kind kind of priority for some to find one soon

I have been with Strong Ties since it was on Elmwood Ave. I have had nothing but positive experiences. I have had the same therapist and Dr. for many years. Getting through to them through My Chart is so quick and easy,… and I usually get a response the same day. Not from other people but directly from them. The receptionists are very welcoming and do their job well. I would refer anyone to them.

Avoid this clinic at all cost, it's trashy. And you will be treated like trash if you go there.

Good luck ever talking to anyone who isn't in a call center. They can't even give advice about clerical things, they aren't medical professionals, and serve seemingly every UR facility. Oh, and that "nursing line" they… give you to call when something's wrong? Never picks up, never calls back. What a joke.

it has really gone downhill in the way you are treated. They will drop u and retire on u without notice, switch your dr., np, therapist WITH NO WARNING, and when you want to change they will not let you. they try to… stress you so you don't want to go back. Go anywhere else if you can

★☆☆☆☆

Dealing with them is ridiculous. Both from a patient stand point and a care giver. They do not care, or don't have time to care. Doctor's repeatedly telling the patient they can't help, release them and it starts all… over again. Mental health Care is non-existent to barely available at best. When you do get "help" it's not help at all. They are more concerned with what the insurance will approve and what their superiors judge as over spending, I think the actual patient is barely in the equation.

I've always had for the most part great people working with & for me. The therapist & psychiatrist have been excellent to me right now. I'd recommend them to anyone that really needs good mental health. My current… therapist is amazing & knows me like a book!

★☆☆☆☆
Justin8 years ago

I'll try and keep this short: Apparently this place USED to be good. However, last I knew “the board” kept opening wait-lists without hiring new therapists/psychiatrist. Reasonably the employees there i talked to… weren't happy about any of it, one bit. The therapists were getting 100+ patients. Treatment therefor lacked in all aspects. Obviously accessibility for finding treatment for mental health these days is pretty low. But if you can, find somewhere else. You matter, and you deserve better. If you get stuck with strong ties, continue looking for an alternative, and don't be afraid to put your foot down and advocate for yourself. Best of luck, keep smiling.

I was with strong ties for 12 years.. it has really gone downhill in the way you are treated..which is like garbage. you're expendable to those people. They will drop u and retire on u without notice, switch your dr.,… np, therapist WITH NO WARNING. No matter how long you've been with any one. no matter how much they know itll exacerbate your disabilities...they drop u like ur trash. would Not recommend to anyone ever.

I had a rough start with two of the social workers who seemed to be there only for the paycheck but I finally found a social worker who seems to be there for me.
