Rehabs That Take Adventist

Adventist is a name linked to Adventist health systems and plans, listed by treatment centers in Utah, Virginia and Washington. Plans may cover drug and alcohol treatment, with benefits varying by plan and network. The name does not show whether a specific health plan is meant.

Treatment centers in several states name Adventist on their own websites, without always saying which plan they mean. Check the plan on your member card, then contact the facility and plan before admission to ask about network status, authorization, referrals and cost. Coverage for residential care can differ from outpatient coverage.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What is Adventist insurance?

Adventist on an insurance card usually means the Adventist Health Employee Health Plan, a self-funded PPO that the nonprofit Adventist Health hospital system in Roseville, California runs for its own employees and their dependents in California, Oregon and Hawaii. It is not sold to the public.

Enrollment is open to full-time staff working 35 or more hours a week, part-time staff at 20 or more hours a week, and their dependents.

Is Adventist Health the same as AdventHealth?

No, they are separate organizations. Adventist Health (Adventist Health System/West) is based in Roseville, California and operates in California, Oregon and Hawaii. AdventHealth, formerly Florida Hospital and Adventist Health System, is Adventist Health System/Sunbelt of Altamonte Springs, Florida, with hospitals in about nine or ten states.

A third similar name, Adventist HealthCare in Maryland, is a hospital system rather than an insurer and does not offer its own health plan.

Does Adventist Health insurance cover rehab?

Yes. Mental health and substance use disorder treatment is a covered benefit, both inpatient and outpatient. Residential mental health and chemical dependency care is paid at 100% at Tier 1 and 80% after the deductible at Tier 2, which needs an Unavailable Service Request Form granted first.

Tier 1 means Adventist Health sites plus Loma Linda University Medical Center, UC Davis Health and Oregon Health & Science University.

An “Adventist” card almost always belongs to the Adventist Health Employee Health Plan, the self-funded plan that the nonprofit Adventist Health system in Roseville, California runs for its own staff and their dependents. It is not sold to the public, and the plan documents state it plainly: “This is not an insured plan.” Adventist Health System/West sponsors it, and the system’s own Benefits Administration department acts as the delegated claims administrator.

That matters more for addiction treatment than the PPO label on the summary of benefits suggests. The plan runs two tiers. Tier 1 is Adventist Health facilities and providers, with Loma Linda University Medical Center, UC Davis Health and Oregon Health & Science University counted alongside them, and it is where the cost share drops close to nothing. Tier 2 is a rented PPO network attached to the primary worksite. Anything outside both tiers “is not covered” except emergencies, urgent care and services the plan releases through an Unavailable Service Request Form.

This guide sets out which levels of addiction care the plan pays for, where prior authorization applies and what the penalty is for skipping it, what a stay costs under the Employee Health Plan and the High Deductible Health Plan, how medication is handled, and how to tell this plan apart from AdventHealth in Florida and Adventist HealthCare in Maryland.
