The practical catchment runs wider than the city limits, taking in people who travel in rather than finding care on their doorstep. Hospital inpatient care and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does APWU Health Plan cover rehab?

Yes, both the High Option and the Consumer Driven Option cover substance use disorder treatment, inpatient and outpatient, in network and out of network. In-network facility care runs 15% coinsurance after the deductible. Residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization and facility-based intensive outpatient are covered but need prior approval first.

Outpatient office visits cost $25 on High Option with no deductible, and no authorization is needed for them.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does APWU Health Plan cover inpatient rehab?

Yes. Inpatient mental health and substance use treatment is covered at 15% coinsurance in network once the deductible is met, and at 40% out of network on High Option or 50% on the Consumer Driven Option. Authorization is required before admission.

The provider or hospital should call at least two business days before a planned admission, or within two business days after an emergency admission.

Inpatient Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/programs/inpatient/
Does APWU Health Plan cover residential treatment?

Yes, residential treatment centers sit on the prior-approval list for both the High Option and the Consumer Driven Option, which means residential care is a covered benefit when authorization is obtained first. Cost sharing follows the plan's mental health and substance use terms.

Call UnitedHealthcare at 866-569-2064 for High Option approvals, or 800-718-1299 for the Consumer Driven Option; both lines are open 24 hours a day.

APWU Health Plan is the American Postal Workers Union’s own not-for-profit national PPO, sold to postal workers under the Postal Service Health Benefits Program and to federal employees and retirees under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. The card carries the union’s name, but the doctors, hospitals and treatment programs behind it belong to the UnitedHealthcare network.

The plan is self-administered and self-underwritten, a not-for-profit Voluntary Employees’ Beneficiary Association formed in 1972 and run from Elkridge, Maryland, with roots going back to a 1960 plan launched by the United Federation of Postal Clerks. It covers more than 171,000 lives and sells two designs: the High Option fee-for-service PPO and the Consumer Driven Option, a high-deductible plan with a plan-funded Personal Care Account. Which of the two you hold changes the arithmetic of a rehab admission more than anything else.

This guide sets out what each option pays for detox, residential care, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment and therapy, which levels need precertification and what happens if the call is skipped, the 2026 deductibles and coinsurance, how addiction medication is handled by each pharmacy benefit manager, and how to find a program that holds a contract with the network behind the plan.
