Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What is Comprehensive Care Management Corp (CCMC)?

Comprehensive Care Management Corp (CCMC) was a New York not-for-profit PACE and managed long-term care plan, in existence since 1992 as part of the Beth Abraham system. It changed its corporate name to CenterLight Healthcare, Inc. on December 20, 2011, and today runs the CenterLight Healthcare PACE program.

The company also did business as CCM Select, a Medicaid managed long-term care product, and offered CCM Direct, a Medicare Special Needs Plan, back in 2008.

Is CCMC the same as CenterLight Healthcare?

Yes. CCMC amended its Certificate of Incorporation on December 20, 2011 to become CenterLight Healthcare, Inc., so the two names belong to one organization. The parent system, Beth Abraham Family of Health Services, rebranded as CenterLight Health System in February 2012.

A New York treatment center that names CCMC is usually pointing to coverage now administered under the CenterLight Healthcare PACE program.

Is CCMC the same as Comprehensive Care Corporation (CompCare)?

No. Comprehensive Care Corporation, known as CompCare, is a separate Delaware company organized in 1969 and based in Tampa, Florida, which managed psychiatric and substance use services through Comprehensive Behavioral Care, Inc. CCMC was a New York PACE and long-term care plan, now CenterLight Healthcare.

Comprehensive Care Management Corporation, listed by New York treatment programs as CCMC, is not a commercial insurance company. It was a not-for-profit New York PACE and managed long-term care organization, in existence since 1992, that amended its certificate of incorporation on December 20, 2011 and became CenterLight Healthcare, Inc. The coverage behind the CCMC name today is CenterLight Healthcare PACE.

That matters for anyone looking at addiction treatment, because PACE works unlike a commercial plan. A PACE program is the participant’s sole source of all Medicare- and Medicaid-covered services, paid a fixed monthly sum per participant, and an interdisciplinary team decides what is in the care plan and authorizes it. The older CCMC product names, CCM Select for Medicaid managed long-term care and CCM Direct for a Medicare Special Needs Plan, are no longer sold; CenterLight chose Centers Plan for Healthy Living to acquire the Medicaid managed long-term care plan in an announcement dated January 10, 2017.

This guide covers what CenterLight PACE pays for in substance use treatment, how the interdisciplinary team authorization works, what a participant pays, which addiction medications sit on the 2026 formulary, and how to find a New York program that contracts with the plan.
