Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does Elderplan cover rehab?

Yes. Elderplan names substance use treatment, detox and intensive outpatient programs among the behavioral health services its Medicare Advantage plans cover, all subject to prior authorization reviewed by Carelon Behavioral Health. What you pay depends on which Elderplan plan you hold and whether the program is in network.

Elderplan Plus Long-Term Care members pay $0 in 2026 for inpatient and outpatient mental health, psychiatric services and partial hospitalization.

Medicare Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/medicare/
Does Elderplan cover detox?

Yes, detox is listed among the behavioral health services Elderplan covers with prior authorization. For New York Medicaid Advantage Plus plans, state rules in force since January 1, 2023 require coverage of OASAS services, including medically supervised detoxification both inpatient and outpatient, along with opioid treatment programs.

Emergency care never needs prior authorization, and Elderplan Plus Long-Term Care covers CPEP and mobile crisis services at $0 with no authorization.

Medicare Detoxhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/medicare/medicare-detox/
Does Elderplan cover inpatient rehab?

Yes, with prior authorization. Inpatient mental health care is a covered benefit on Elderplan's Medicare Advantage plans, and New York requires Medicaid Advantage Plus plans to cover OASAS inpatient rehabilitation and residential services, which applies to Elderplan Plus Long-Term Care members.

On the 2026 Elderplan Flex plan, inpatient mental health care costs $375 per day for days 1 to 5 and $0 from day 6.

Elderplan is a not-for-profit New York health plan, part of MJHS Health System, that sells Medicare Advantage plans and a Medicaid managed long-term care plan under the combined Elderplan/HomeFirst name. For anyone arranging addiction treatment, that means the benefit behind the card is Medicare, Medicaid, or both at once, and the answers change with the plan rather than with the company.

There were seven products for 2026: Elderplan Flex, Elderplan Extra Help, Elderplan for Medicaid Beneficiaries, Elderplan Plus Long-Term Care, Elderplan Select, Elderplan Advantage for Nursing Home Residents and HomeFirst Managed Long-Term Care. Every Medicare plan is an HMO with a point-of-service option; none is a PPO. There is no employer group, marketplace or mainstream Medicaid line, and the service area is New York only.

This guide sets out which levels of care the plan pays for, where prior authorization applies and who reviews it, what the 2026 copays look like plan by plan, how addiction medication is handled, and how to work out whether a program holds an Elderplan contract before an admission date is agreed.
