Rehabs That Take PPOplus

PPOplus is a preferred provider organization network, or PPO network, that contracts with providers and offers access to employers, administrators and health plans. It is a network rather than an insurer. Plans that use PPOplus can include coverage for drug and alcohol treatment, with benefits varying by the member’s plan, network terms and level of care.

Treatment centers in Arkansas and Louisiana name PPOplus, or PPO Plus LLC, on their websites. Since the member’s actual plan decides coverage, call the facility and the number on your ID card before admission. Ask about in-network status, prior authorization and what deductible or coinsurance applies.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What is PPOplus?

PPOplus is a preferred provider organization network, not an insurance company. It contracts with physicians, hospitals and facilities on discounted rates, then sells access to carriers, third-party administrators, self-funded employers and managed care organizations. Founded in 1988, it is one of several network brands owned by Zelis.

Your benefits, deductible and coinsurance come from the plan named on your member ID card, not from the network itself; PPOplus only shapes which providers are contracted.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Is PPOplus an insurance company?

No, the brand is a rented provider network rather than an insurer or third-party administrator. Zelis, which owns it, states plainly that it is the network and not an insurance carrier or third-party administrator. The company named on your ID card is the one paying claims.

That distinction matters when arranging treatment: ask your plan for benefits, and ask the program whether it holds a contract through the PPOplus network.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Who owns PPOplus?

Zelis owns PPOplus. Stratose, an Atlanta cost-containment company formerly called Coalition America, bought PPOplus on January 17, 2014, and Stratose itself became part of Zelis Healthcare in 2016. Zelis is privately held, with Parthenon Capital and Bain Capital as majority owners.

A minority equity raise led by Mubadala Investment Company closed on November 26, 2024 and was announced that December. Zelis lists Boston as its headquarters.

PPOplus is a preferred provider network, not an insurance company. It signs rate contracts with physicians, hospitals and treatment providers, and carriers, third-party administrators and self-funded employers rent access to those contracts for their own plans. Zelis, which owns the brand, states plainly that it is the network and not an insurance carrier or third-party administrator.

That distinction decides how an admission to treatment actually works. The PPOplus logo on an ID card tells an admissions team which discount schedule applies if the program is contracted. Whether detox, residential care or an outpatient program is a covered benefit at all, what the deductible is and who has to authorize the stay comes from the plan named alongside that logo, which may be an insurer, a benefits administrator or an employer’s own health fund.

PPOplus was founded in 1988 and built a network focused on Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas before Stratose acquired it on January 17, 2014 and Stratose itself was folded into Zelis Healthcare in 2016. This guide covers what the network does and does not decide, where authorization rules come from, what treatment costs when a network discount is the only thing the card provides, how medication is handled, and how to find a program that works with the plan behind the PPOplus name.
