Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does the Rural Carrier Benefit Plan cover rehab?

Yes, the Rural Carrier Benefit Plan covers substance use disorder treatment under Section 5(e) of its brochure, and applies the same standards to behavioral health as to medical and surgical care. For 2026, an in-network inpatient mental health or substance use admission costs a $200 copay with no deductible.

The plan's Behavioral Health Support program connects members with clinical social workers, psychologists and other behavioral health professionals for substance use concerns at 1-800-638-8432.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Is the Rural Carrier Benefit Plan the same as Coventry?

Yes, in effect. Coventry Health Care affiliates, including First Health Life and Health Insurance Company and Cambridge Life Insurance Company, once underwrote the plan. Aetna completed its acquisition of Coventry in May 2013, and the plan is now administered by Claims Administration Corporation, an Aetna company.

Coventry Health Care was founded in 1986 and ceased to exist as a separate company on May 7, 2013, so the plan today operates as the Rural Carrier Benefit Plan backed by Aetna.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does the Rural Carrier Benefit Plan cover residential treatment?

Yes, residential treatment center admissions are covered when precertified. The plan defines a residential treatment center as an accredited, state-licensed facility giving 24-hour residential treatment for medical, mental health or substance use needs. In-network inpatient behavioral health care carries a $200 copay per admission in 2026.

Someone must call 1-800-638-8432 at least two working days before admission, or within two business days for an emergency admission, to avoid a $500 benefit reduction.

The Rural Carrier Benefit Plan is a nationwide fee-for-service health plan for United States Postal Service rural letter carriers, sponsored by the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association and administered by Claims Administration Corporation, an Aetna company. For a carrier weighing up addiction treatment, that means a union-sponsored card with Aetna‘s network and Aetna’s precertification desk sitting behind it.

The word Coventry in the plan’s older name is history rather than a current brand. As of a 2016 federal audit the plan was underwritten by First Health Life and Health Insurance Company and Cambridge Life Insurance Company, both Coventry Health Care affiliates, with Coventry network companies supplying provider access. Aetna completed its acquisition of Coventry Health Care in May 2013 for $5.7 billion, and Aetna has been a CVS Health subsidiary since November 28, 2018. A program that says it takes Coventry for a rural carrier is describing this same coverage.

Since 2025 the plan has sat in the Postal Service Health Benefits Program rather than the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, and for 2026 there is a single High Option, brochure RI 72-012, with enrollment codes 79A Self Only, 79C Self Plus One and 79B Self and Family. This guide covers what the plan pays for substance use treatment at each level of care, where precertification applies and what it costs to skip it, the 2026 deductibles and cost shares, how medication runs through CVS Caremark, and how to work out which programs sit inside the network.
