Vivida Health is a health plan named by treatment centers in Florida. Plans under the name may include coverage for drug and alcohol treatment, with benefits that vary by plan, by network and by the level of care a person needs, from outpatient counseling to residential stays.Florida centers here mention Vivida Health on their own websites. To avoid surprises, call the plan before admission and ask whether the facility is in network, whether prior authorization or a referral is required, and what share of the cost you would pay. Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does Vivida Health cover rehab?

Yes. Vivida Health was a Florida Medicaid managed care plan, and Florida's Managed Medical Assistance plans cover inpatient and outpatient hospital behavioral health for substance use along with partial hospitalization. Vivida listed help with alcohol or drug use as available 24 hours a day, with no prior authorization needed to reach it.

Vivida also ran a 180-day Alcohol or Substance Abuse Recovery Program, with rewards of up to $25 for each qualifying step and $50 a year.

Does Vivida Health still exist?

No. Elevance Health was finalizing its purchase of Vivida Health's Medicaid contract in August 2022, and Simply Healthcare Plans expected to begin serving Vivida members on November 1, 2022, pending sign-off from Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration. After that, Vivida was no longer an active health plan.

Florida's April 2024 Medicaid re-procurement named five plans, and Vivida was not among them. Its website stays online as legacy content with no closure notice.

Medicaid Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/medicaid/
Is Vivida Health the same as Simply Healthcare?

No. They were separate legal entities. Simply Healthcare Plans, an Elevance Health company, acquired Vivida Health's Florida Medicaid contract in 2022 and took over its Southwest Florida members. Vivida itself was held by Best Care Assurance LLC, an affiliate of the Lee Health system in Fort Myers.

During the handover, providers were told to keep treating members of both plans under their existing contracts, and member ID cards already in hand stayed valid.

Vivida Health was a Florida Medicaid managed care plan built for Southwest Florida, not a commercial insurer, and it is no longer an active plan. A card carrying the Vivida name means the Medicaid coverage behind it has since moved, and the plan that pays for addiction treatment today is the one that took over that contract.

Vivida ran as a Provider Service Network under Florida’s Statewide Medicaid Managed Care program. The contract was held by Best Care Assurance LLC, an affiliate of Lee Health, the nonprofit system in Fort Myers, with Evolent Health supplying plan administration and Independent Living Systems processing claims for dates of service from January 1, 2021. The plan served Medicaid Region 8: Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Sarasota counties. In August 2022 Simply Healthcare Plans notified providers that Elevance Health was finalizing its acquisition of Vivida’s contract and expected to begin serving Vivida members on November 1, 2022.

This guide covers what the Vivida benefit included for drug and alcohol treatment, where authorization applied and where it did not, what a Florida Medicaid member pays, how addiction medication is handled under the state drug list, and how a former Vivida member works out which plan now sits behind the card.
