TW: MISCARRIAGE I will never go here again I went in with cramping and bleeding while pregnant. I was there for a really long time while worried about actively losing my baby. It took 6 hours for results as I bled. Then… they just told me “the pregnancy isn’t viable”. I didn’t know if it was size of fetus, absence of heartbeat, or HCG hormone levels. A week later and I STILL don’t know. I wasn’t allowed to see my baby one last time on the ultrasound. I wasn’t given options for care and just told to “go home and wait”. Next day I went to another hospital and they told me they shouldn’t have diagnosed miscarriage due to what they saw. You need at least one more follow up scan to diagnose and Redlands ER didn’t do that. I asked the nurse at Redlands ER what I should expect due to the diagnosis and she responded with “I am not sure” and never answered my question. I’m bleeding, in pain, and losing my baby right then and she couldn’t tell me anything or get me to someone who does. No pain medication was offered, no procedure, nothing. I got diagnosed without proper scans and wasn’t given results to them. Then I was told that “this happens often” and “you can try again soon”. That’s not something to say to a grieving mother and father. It was so heartless and I’m still hurting from those words a week later. I started therapy because of the things we experienced during that visit, not just the traumatic loss. Interpersonal skills need to be developed and proper scanning/diagnosis practices need to begin happening. I’m never going back to Redlands Hospital and now will be going to Loma Linda as they did all the tests, let me see my baby, explained the scans, told me the results, and didn’t say that my loss didn’t matter. They also are doing follow up imaging, so they can properly determine if we have had a loss or not. Every medical professional I’ve talked to since this visit has told me I experienced severe incompetence and negligence. When we have our baby or ever need medical care, I will now only be going to Loma Linda. I can’t express enough how much damage this visit did to me and my husband. Not because of the possible results (given far too soon) but because of the way it was handled. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. Please go to Loma Linda instead! They treated us and my baby like actual people and I’m so grateful for that.
I would like to express my concern regarding the way my mother was treated by Nurse Glenn on the 2nd floor at Redlands Community Hospital. My mother is very sick and is already going through a difficult and stressful… time. While I understand that she may have been wrong or there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the situation, I do not believe that justifies the way Nurse Glenn came across toward her. His tone and manner made my mother extremely upset, and she felt even more ill afterward. What makes this especially upsetting to our family is that from the moment my mother was in the emergency room, the other nurses were very attentive, understanding, and compassionate toward her. They made her feel cared for and supported during a time when she was already vulnerable. It is very disappointing to hear that she subsequently had an interaction with a nurse that left her feeling upset and poorly treated. I understand that nurses have difficult and demanding jobs, and that they sometimes have to correct patients or deal with challenging situations. However, patients who are sick and vulnerable should still be treated with patience, dignity, and compassion, even when they may be mistaken. I am asking that this incident be looked into. My concern is not simply that my mother disagreed with Nurse Glenn, but that the way the interaction was handled had a significant emotional impact on her at a time when she was already very ill. I truly appreciate the other nurses who treated my mother with kindness and understanding. I only hope that this concern can be addressed so that every patient receives that same level of compassion and respect throughout their care.
First off I have zero complaints about the staff. They are professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. My issues are with the cleanliness of the hospital particularly the emergency room. I visited them on Friday… for heart problems. I was seen quickly treated well and felt like they truly cared. But here’s the but, the waiting room is filthy. I saw used alcohol swabs on the floor trash on the floor, used masks on the floor. I even saw a bug crawling around on the floor in the waiting room. The chairs seem dirty. I went to the bathroom and the trashcan was overflowing with trash on the floor. Totally disgusting. Disgusting for a hospital. This hospital is not clean and it should be exceptional being a nice community hospital in an affluent city like Redlands California. No excuse for it. I know they have cleaning people. Ether they are told not to do their job or they are not doing their job. When I was taken to x-ray, I had to put my face on a piece of equipment. That thing seemed dirty to me. It wasn’t wiped before I put my face on it. It wasn’t wiped after they took my face off of it. I rubbed hand sanitizer on my face to try to clean it off if there was any grems on it. As I said, the staff and personnel are exceptional I would trust a family member with their care. They work with what they have. But the cleanliness of the hospital is disgusting. If I had another choice, I would go somewhere else, but it is in my network and I can’t go to other facilities.
The worst ER dept I have ever seen. . I mean just plain terrible.
Bare minimum help
Great hospital with caring doctors.
I would like to thank Dr Lee I don't remember the name of the other doctor. Also I'd like to thank Julie Cindy and Jason the entire team is great
Very professional and caring. Like to make sure u get in n out but also everything u need. 100/10 always satisfied !
Cardio Rehab nurses are fantastic. Tori and Hailey have pushed me but without them I wouldn't be doing everything I am doing now. Not 💯 but better with their help
I had to have a lumptectomy and everyone from the first hospital staff member to the last nurse was so pleasantly professional and very kind hearted. The person who standed out the most was my RN named Albert. He was… very friendly, very professional, and very attentive, and very caring. I was very pleased with his care. Then I had to have a die injected into my breast. The RN who gave me this injection was very gentle. I felt hardly any pain. Then when I was taken into the operating room I was moved to the operating bed and I was laying on the bed feeling very curious about the surrounding of the operaton room. Then I do not remember if a general anesthia mask or something that was to be put on me to make me fall asleep. I literally fell into a deep sleep maybe 5 minutes after I got to the operation room. Then I woke up in recovery. I was awake for maybe 5 minutes after I got to the surgery room. I was amazed. Then I woke feeling like "What happened?" I was extremely sleepy too. My eyes were opening and I was snoring at the same time. That was weird. The last RN that attended to me was very friendly, attentive, very professional. I know I have breast cancer and I was at the hospital for surgery but I had a very pleasant and warm hearted experience. I just wanted to acknowledge that and to say thank you with all heart. May God bring your hospital and staff bring you many blessings. Thank you again. ☺️🙏❤️
Unprofessional workers and rude behavior. Terrible environment to be in
I really like this hospital. It is very clean, and the staff is extremely friendly, professional, and welcoming.
Dirty lobby floors with vomit and trash and overpacked with contagious patients. A call ticket system should be implemented. Also a bad experience here after being prescribed medication of which I previously informed… them I was allergic to that class of medications. A mistake of pharmacology 101 that actual medical staff should not be making.
ER overcrowded & understaffed, despite hospital advertising that it expanded services. Waiting room in triage area horribly crowded, full of coughing people. Some had to stand due to lack of seating. Wouldn't let family… menbers stay with patient. Family member had a true emergency, but ended up in urgent care waiting room for hours waiting for results. One nurse was very nice & professional, others rude. Fox News propaganda on all tvs.
45 minutes on hold, was still on hold when I walked into the ER. Did not even get the chance to say goodbye or I love you before I was hung up on. If I could give the unempathetic staff less than one star I would. No… words can describe the frustration for this lack of empathy.
Everyone I encountered at RCH were absolutely awesome! It was packed . [Friday] these young people were professional friendly and listened. I was there 6 hrs BUT it was ok, I was treated as if I was the only patient… there. My medical issue was *fixed*. Thank you everyone, Friday evening 4.24.26 in the ER dept. I appreciate you.
I had a very positive experience at Redlands Community Hospital. From the moment I arrived, the staff was caring, attentive, and professional. The nurses and doctors took the time to listen and made sure I felt… comfortable and informed throughout my visit. The hospital was clean, well-organized, and I was seen in a timely manner. Everyone I interacted with showed compassion and respect, which made a stressful situation much easier. I truly appreciate the level of care I received and would highly recommend Redlands Community Hospital to others in need of quality medical service.
I chose this hospital to have my first baby after being recommended by many other mothers. I had the best experience with my labor and delivery team during my stay (2/24/26-2/26/26). I wish I remembered everyone’s names… but if you worked those days listed in the review, thank you! Staff was friendly, helpful, empathetic and knowledgeable during the process of delivering my baby. The anesthesiologist who placed my epidural was amazing guiding me every step of the way. He had a gentle hand because I could not feel a thing during the placement as other women have experienced and described to me. Thank you Redlands labor and delivery.
I came for my dad who needed to be admitted. The staff was very helpful they have a really efficient and smooth process. My dad’s check-in was quick, and the staff kept us informed of what procedures were next. The… doctors provided recommendations and were clear as to the reason. We thought it would be a same day in and out but luckily they found a deeper issue that needed to be addressed and were not afraid to communicate the urgency.
On the evening of April 1, 2026, I went to the ER of Redlands Community Hospital. It was an unforgettable ordeal! The reason for my visit was that the RMC doctor I'd seen earlier that day directed me to go to an ER for… an enzyme test (bloodwork); she wanted to make sure that the chest pains I'd experienced twice the day before were not from a heart attack. She explained that in women, heart attacks typically present differently than they do in men. Redlands Community is closer to me than Riverside Community (which is also where both of my parents died...so very bad memories there.) For the record, I didn't want to go to the ER just for a blood test, because I expected to be treated as though I was wasting their time. It's also a $250 copay for me! But my brother, who had a heart attack and a triple bypass when he was younger than I am, insisted that I do as the doctor directed. When I told him that my EKG had been normal, he countered that his EKG had also been normal; it was the enzyme test that had indicated he'd had a heart attack. Just as I'd expected, I was treated by staff as if I'd made a huge mistake by going to the ER at Redlands Community. The ER medical director himself was cold, abrupt, and borderline belligerent toward me. He also kept asking if I wanted something for pain-even though I never said anything about pain. (Hopefully, it's because he assumed I was a druggie and not because he likes to give out painkillers.) I think he needs to take a break and go camping with his family. The stress from such a huge responsibility must be getting to him. He definitely needs to change his attitude because it made me want to avoid going to the ER again. Doctors need to be careful not to inhibit people from seeking medical care. Sadly, another brother of mine died in March because he didn't go to the ER for the edema in his legs. It led to a DVT that led to a stroke and a pulmonary embolism. It turned out that he also had afib. This brother even worked in the medical field himself. He had a physics degree from UCR and his name on at least 12 patents for medical devices like prosthetic heart valves and vascular grafts. He worked as a lead principal engineer for Anteris Technologies when he collapsed at work. What made my experience at the ER even worse was the inhumane temperature in the ER waiting areas. It is not true that it has to be freezing in there to kill the germs. In fact, it is well documented that the flu virus THRIVES in cold and dry environments. It has something to do with the outer lipid layer of the virus becoming more firm in colder temperatures. It enables the virus to survive longer on surfaces and in the air. Research also reveals that cold temperatures can lower a person's immune response. It was SO cold that some people in that ER covered themselves in blankets to stay warm. Others curled up in the fetal position in their seats, trying to conserve body heat. I wish I'd had a blanket...or a parka. I was wearing a long-sleeved jacket, and I was still very cold! I have made a complaint with CDPH about that issue. It is inhumane and unhealthy for an ER to be that cold. Take my advice and go to a different ER.
My mom had to be taken by ambulance and ended up here at Redlands Community Hospital instead of Kaiser, and honestly, I’m so thankful she did. She’s been dealing with fluid around both lungs, low sodium and potassium,… and her oxygen levels were dropping into the 60–70 range. It’s been overwhelming watching her struggle, but the staff here have been absolutely amazing! The staff are taking such great care of her, and were so kind to me too yesterday. I truly appreciate every single one of them. Very thankful Kaiser allowed her to stay here: A huge THANK YOU to both the ER & ICU teams.
Had to take my son there 2 times. ED is ok.. not to l0 long of a wait... odd ED uses gravity hang for IVs...
I had spine surgery AT RCH last Friday It was the best Cleanliness, nurses, doctors and the entire staff. Higher recommend
Had a great experience when I had my baby at this hospital. The OB doctors, L&D and postpartum nurses are great. Their care and compassion made me comfortable during a challenging time. Big shout out to my nurses… Tiffany and Valerie you guys are just the best.
Why are all these Hospitals . Going down it's a shame.
Aside from being born here, the empathy and even the sympathy within overnight staff and I'm going to say staff because to be a nurse is taking an oath of empathic medical care. At a certain moment in one's medical… career we have to ask ourselves, am I the product of the problem or a small solution of hope . . Within the problem. This is what caused my career change back in 2020 but I digress, the normalcy and disconnect is too real. We are walking energy and when care is dismissed it leaves a sour taste in one's mouth. Not once but multiple times have I encountered a nurse AND doctor that spoke as if It was clock work. We truly are just numbers in a system. Unfortunately due to health issues myself I could not be the change but remember who passes through the doors and DO BETTER!!! BE BETTER!!! BE KINDER. ANGER COMES FROM HURT HURT COMES FROM FEAR.... re learn empathy.....
I recently visited Redlands Community Hospital, where I was surprised by the caring attitudes of the ER staff and doctor. I was transferred to Telemetry unit where Garrett the RN was the most compassionate, caring,… attentive thorough RN I have ever had the pleasure to be assisted by.
