If I could give zero starts I would! The adults abuse the kids & tell them to “keep it a secret”. This is a disgusting place. If you care about your child do not send them here!! Unless you want your child to have ptsd.… A police report has been filed! This business will be going down!

I went to Hopeway Residential with the intent of learning about my depression and anxiety. During my 6 weeks there, I learned about a ton of mental health resources that I did not know existed. The residential component… was great in terms of the classes offered and the fellowship of being with other people who are experiencing their own mental health struggles. The staff, doctors, nurses, mental health technicians, and other employees are friendly and very knowledgeable. For anyone looking for a great place to get help with your own mental health and personal struggles, I would recommend you to discover the various services that Hopeway can offer.

Great experience at HopeWay. Was in residential and then PHP around September-October. Was pleased with my therapist John as well as the in depth groups I attended. Take notes in the groups! Really dive in and the… information will be helpful later on. Backstory, I experienced an extremely rough manic episode prior to my visit where I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 at a mental hospital in South Carolina. The clinicians at HopeWay were very understanding and overall my experience was very positive. It was a great starting point to learn about my disorder and early warning signs etc. I became friendly with the staff and everyone was really nice to me. You get out of it what you put into it. I’ve seen a few rough reviews relating to people being denied because of instability etc, if you are posed as a potential threat to yourself or others clinicians have the right to deny you for the safety of the rest of the patients. Everyone’s experience is their own but I can gladly say mine was positive. Keep doing great work HopeWay!

Went there during a time I was transitioning medications and having a hard time. I was told yes they could help me with the medications after talking to the psychiatrist. My goal was to get stabilized and to have some… help and guidance on getting off these particular medications. I was told numerous times I would not be detoxed they might would taper me etc etc. Well long story short after going to get my meds for the night they stopped one medication and just left me on the other. Woke up in withdrawal. Got 3 hours of sleep. Literally had to go find a nurse and tell them what was going on. I told them I don’t feel comfortable doing this here because it truly isn’t a medical detox unit and was told they don’t do that there because of the risk and severity of stuff that could happen. They stated they just don’t have that level of care there and wouldn’t do that to me but could help stabilize. The nurses don’t come to you and check on you. You have to go find them. Which I did in a horrible state. My assigned psychiatrist Justin Johnson came and spoke with me and pretty much said it’s impossible for you to be in withdrawal and that it was all in my mind while I am physically trembling and shaking, sweating all night in my sleep. I told them I felt like I needed actual medical help. So they took me to the nearest behavioral health unit and could not believe they stopped the medication like they did cold turkey due to the severity of the issues it can cause. I wasn’t treated like a human being. They gathered my meds I brought with me and dropped me off and I waited to speak with nurse at behavioral health. They literally took 3 of my prescribed medications I was supposed to have gotten back and other items. My mother was having to come pick me up from behavioral health place because I was released because I wasn’t suicidal and psychotic like they said to them I was. They wouldn’t allow her to get my meds because she didn’t have consent. I reached out to Dan the person I originally spoke to before admitting myself there and was painted a totally different picture than what I received and he wouldn’t answer my phone calls. Just sent me a link to the complaints department email. I tried calling the office and speak to my psychiatrist about getting my meds back and was hung up on 3 times. If you or a loved one are thinking of going to this place please be weary and look for other help. I’ve been here previously and had a totally different experience the first time than this time. It is nothing but people who don’t care about helping anymore. When you try and talk to nurses or people who are prescribing your meds they act like you are causing them a problem when it is there job to help you. Just felt very dismissed and very traumatic experience for me when you are going there seeking help and then you have no control over anything. Very upsetting you go to a place for mental health and help and you come out feeling worse than when you went in. If I could give 0 stars I would. Don’t let the nice view and all the sweet talk fool you.

Never expected Hopeway to have such a profound positive experience on my life like it did. All the therapist are amazing (especially Darby) and Dr Marra is so personable and comforting to speak with. Olive the therapy… dog is amazing and I will miss her dearly. For anyone reading this considering going to HopeWay I highly recommend it. However you get out of it what you put in it. My first three weeks in residential I put nothing in, and likewise got nothing out. However once I fully immersed myself in ALL groups I started getting so much out of it. Hopeway is a safe place to be vulnerable which I know is scary and it is also very helpful. Anyways that’s my advice you gotta fully embrace it all. Made so may amazing friends during my time here and I will definitely be back for the alumni events:)

This review is for HopeWay, Katy, the director of admissions at HopeWay, and the “human resources” department. I applied for the residential treatment program at HopeWay many months ago. I was interviewed and accepted… into the program. Two days after being accepted, I received a phone call from Katy, who I’ve never spoken to before, saying that I was now not being accepted due an underlying mental illness, OCD. I called HopeWay back a few months later and spoke to Dan, who is kind and genuine. I told him that things had changed since we last spoke. I told him I was now seeing a new OCD psychologist and taking new medication for OCD, however, it was still being suggested to me that I seek residential treatment because of my declining mental health. I was accepted again back into HopeWay, and had an admissions date scheduled. Unfortunately, due to some issues I was experiencing in my household and a blizzard we had a week later, I needed to reschedule my admissions date. Dan was more than accommodating with that. When I called Dan to reschedule an admissions date again, he was out sick. He then was on vacation. In his absence, I was forced to discuss everything with Katy. Without any hesitation, she denied me treatment at HopeWay again. I begged and cried for her to reconsider, but she didn’t care. She said it was “her decision”. Technically, the psychiatrist you see at your intake appointment is the ONLY ONE that makes the decision if a patient can be accepted into the program or not. Not Katy. The next day, I reached back out, just so I could understand her decision. I left her numerous voicemails and emails, none of which she had the decency to even respond to. I even reached out to their “human resources” department for assistance. After leaving a few messages at this department, and not receiving a call back, I started to get the feeling that my calls were being screened. Finally, one time, Katy did answer the phone when I tried calling. She was very harsh and constantly told me that I needed to seek OCD treatment instead and gave me referrals of places to go to. Most of these facilities have a waitlist of 3 to 4 months. Katy told me that she “wasn’t responsible for any other treatment centers waitlists”. I thought that was a real nice to say to someone who is suffering as much as I am. Instead of being compassionate, Katy told me that “I should’ve applied to these other facilities sooner, because by now I would’ve already been a patient at one of them”. I am in crisis and in desperate need of residential treatment for structure and stability, but it turns out, I was only being annoying to her and she just wanted nothing to do with me. She couldn’t make that any clearer. I even had my relatives and doctors leave voicemails and emails for the admissions department. Katy clearly stated to me that any future communications sent there on my behalf would be discarded, which I thought was very unprofessional. I then received an email from their chief compliance officer. It was a complaint against me. It was a standard letter that stated that I cease all communication with HopeWay and to not call them anymore. I didn’t want to believe that my calls were being screened and counted, but that’s exactly what was happening. I never expected a mental health facility to do something like this. The way Katy treated me, is the most unethical I have ever been treated when it comes to behavioral health. She even was able to get the “human resources” department AND the COO to not return my calls. This is the department I needed to reach out to see if we could come up with a solution, but apparently she was able to convince the office and the people there to not answer my phone calls. My current psychiatrist was shocked by the way I was treated. She said a psychiatric institution should have more tolerance when people are seeking help. The lack of compassion and care that I experienced with HopeWay was depressing and I am truly disappointed. I received NoHope from HopeWay. Thanks for your time to read my review.

Save yourself the thousand dollars out of pocket+Insurance. I was a patient at hopeway. They have a great way to make sure those they mistreat stay silent and can’t reach out to any higher ups for help. The nurses are… cliquey highschool mean girls, the Doctors unprofessional and dismissive and the therapist say “this is a safe place” only to dehumanize you. That was my experience, I can’t speak for others but I wouldn’t wish the treatment I was given on my worst enemy. To anyone suffering with their mental health I wish you goodluck and hope for the best for you.

No telling what woulda happened to me if I didn’t come here. I’ve met a lot of great folks, both staff and clients, and I’ve seen a lot of struggling people make a lot of progress here. A negative review seems to me… like blame misplaced, or unrelated to the programming itself.

If you have BIPOLAR disorder, do NOT waste your time with these people. I went through the whole admissions process and in the end (AFTER having put in hours of paperwork, long phone calls, getting records sent from… other places) was told that I couldn't be accepted because of worries about my "stability". First of all, what an absolute joke of a mental health institution for turning people away because of their instability, ESPECIALLY people with bipolar disorder. What makes me really mad is that they literally advertise themselves as being able to treat bipolar disorder.

I just completed the Residential and PHP treatment program at HopeWay. I had the best experience to address my sleep challenges, anxiety and depression. I now sleep 7+ hours per night instead of 2-3 hours. The right… medication along with a regular sleep routine made all the difference. I felt safe, and seen and heard from the moment I stepped into HopeWay. The nursing staff treated me as if I was the most important person there. The therapists and doctors listened to me without judgement. They are compassionate and very knowledgeable. The programming is excellent and provides variety in how to learn the necessary coping skills needed to address anxiety and depression. While it was exhausting to learn all of the information and coping skills, the different methods (like music therapy, art therapy, horticulture therapy, drama therapy, and rec therapy) provided a fun way to learn. I had anxiety initially with some of the therapies offered and learned each week how to deal with that anxiety. When the anxiety reduced, I was able to enjoy those activities for the first time in my life. The biggest change that HopeWay helped me with is to be myself instead of someone I thought others thought I should be. I hid my true self from others as well as myself for most of my life. I now am sharing the person who is inside of me and I have so much peace and joy. I am grateful to everyone at HopeWay who helped me uncover and stop hiding the me I am meant to be.

If you are not rolling in thousands and thousands of dollars don't even bother with this place. They talk a big game but they can't keep up with their promises. They talk about how they will help people and help them… get where they need to, but once the insurance stops paying because of whatever was told to the insurance's doctors, they say oh well there is the door! My daughter had to wait 30 days before getting in with this place after being in a facility that was not long term, because she had to switch insurances to the one THEY SAID THEY TOOK.. Told us there were payment plans, and come to find out there was not. We had to pay over 8k to even get her in, then its been a fight with the insurance from day one. NOW, TODAY, they tell us, today is her last day.. sorry... This is after their "review", not telling us FOR A WEEK the answer, then said hey fill out the bridge form. That covered the week that was delayed due to no answer on insurance. But guess what. come tomorrow she is being discharged. SO much for mental heath and helping people. One side note that is actually positive, her therapist has been great. But the overall of this place is less than 1 star..

I’ve been to 8 inpatient facilities between my mental health and addiction. I have some experience with these types of places and Hopeway is an amazing place. If you are struggling with wanting to be here, how to manage… your life, do yourself a favor and check in to their program. They offer many different levels of care and all are top notch. I’m alive because of places like this. 😭💘 You deserve it, you deserve to be happy and fulfilled.

Hopeway restored the hope that I had lost in my life. Through residential and PHP I was able to turn a new leaf and even landed a job while in residential that allowed me to transition straight from PHP into the… workforce.
