UF Health St Johns – Saint Augustine Detox and Rehab Services

UF Health St Johns – Saint Augustine appears on the register for residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

Addiction and mental health are worked on at the same time here. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

UF Health St Johns – Saint Augustine Address, Location and Contact Information

400 Health Park Boulevard, Saint Augustine, Florida, 32086 is the address held. The city lies within Saint Johns County. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.

It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Admissions lines are frequently busiest early in the week, which is worth knowing if the first attempt fails.

They do not take good care of their patients in the cardiac Icu. So grateful, they moved him to a different hospital.much better here. They like to keep their patience sedated instead of taking care of them.

I don't understand the bad reviews...my husband has had a hernia surgery and numerous cardiology tests in the last six months here, and in every instance the care has been outstanding! The doctors and nurses go above… and beyond to make the patient and family comfortable with the procedures. Very happy with our experiences.

This place is straight trash when the local competition of quick care clinics should have them making big changes... for the better. Sitting and waiting for hours, sometimes with a serious injury, has been a plague for… this hospital since I moved to St. Augustine back in 1995. It got to the point where I'd drive to Jacksonville, get treated at Baptist and be back home in less time than it took to just be called back at Flagler, now UF. I figured with new ownership this place would change but it hasn't. I recommend anyone reading this to go anywhere but here.

I spent my first night (a Saturday night at that) in the ER. Nights 2-4 in ICU and my 5th and final night in ICU Stepdown. All things considered, it was not an unpleasant experience. Everyone was extremely nice. Nurses,… staff and Doctors were very attentive and on top of things. Labs and test results were available quickly. Even the food wasn't bad. They treated my family members well. Impressive service for a hospital.

The ER is wonderful place. But everything else with UF is horrible. My girlfriend has an autoimmune. She needs to get in to see a rheumatologist. After getting a referral to see one at UF it was almost impossible to fax… it over, ended up with a great lady at UPS store that kindly kept sending it for 30 minutes before it would go through. After the confirmation my girlfriend recived a message that they said they would be in contact with her soon and to feel free to leave messages in the chat amd to reply back with a day to set an appointment. Week later she called because she hadnt heard anything. They couldnt help her, said she had to wait. So she waited another week ans finally got a message from them. They said they were sorry and couldnt help her because they dont accept her (insurance) that 75% of Florida has and turned off her ability to message back. This is absolutely insane to not help a woman who has an autoimmune in a place as large as UF with the help they can provide and as they tell people how good they are and how they help people. I suppose the help is saved for people witn Blue Cross, Cash, your family donates money or if your in a fraternity. They should be ashamed of themselves for turning people away with these sorts of issues because they have a lesser insurance. They would probably turn people from the ER if it wasnt illegal to do so.

When someone you love has a heart attack, your whole world just stops. Those first moments are terrifying, and you end up putting total trust in people you’ve never even met. My boyfriend had his heart attack while we… were on vacation, far from home, which made the situation even more overwhelming and frightening. But I can honestly say everyone at Flagler Hospital gave us hope during one of the scariest times of our lives. From the moment my boyfriend got there, the staff moved fast, were super professional, and genuinely kind. Their quick response and expert care really made all the difference. A huge thank you goes to Dr. Jones, who quite literally saved my boyfriend’s life. I honestly don’t have words for how grateful we are for your knowledge, skill, and the calm confidence you showed in such a critical moment. Because of you, I still get to have the person I love by my side, and that’s something I will never take for granted. I also want to recognize the incredible ICU nurses who cared for him: Karoline, Bradley, Ashley, Jenifer, Kaelani, Camille, Deb, and Amy. Every single one of you treated him with so much kindness, patience, respect, and real compassion. You didn’t just take amazing care of him medically, you also supported and comforted our family during such an emotional and uncertain time. Your smiles, reassurance, and dedication meant more than you’ll probably ever know. I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff working behind the scenes who I didn’t get to meet, your work is just as important and so appreciated. And a special thank you to the Security team for always being so kind and welcoming when we came to visit; your warmth really stood out. I truly believe that if it weren’t for Dr. Jones and this amazing ICU team, my boyfriend wouldn’t be here today. Because of all of you, he has the chance to recover and keep living his life, and we will be forever grateful. Although we came to Florida expecting to make happy vacation memories, we never imagined we’d be facing one of the worst moments of our lives. Thanks to every one of you at Flagler Hospital, we’re leaving with something far more meaningful: the chance to go home together. That is a gift we can never repay. Thank you to everyone at Flagler Hospital who played a part in his care. You’re more than healthcare professionals, you’re heroes. Thank you for giving us hope, treating us with compassion, and giving us more time together. We will never forget what you did for us.

I've been not only killed their last year but also robbed of my $78 bucks during intake over a year ago now .. I'm told after days of my wife being put on hold, after finally getting frustrated enough to call myself I'm… informed that after 30 days money gets donated without concent of patients to hospital and am offered giftcards I'm to go pick up with my limited gas myself tomorrow morning... All while the guy who robbed me still works there and I was told upon last visit that my 78 bucks was found by Chris i believe his name was. Yet today after calling risk center ... No records of my money... I WILL ADVISE NOT TO GO HERE...

I went to Flagler ER within the past two weeks due to a fall and hitting my head. I found both the doctor and the nurse to be very cold, sterile and lacking basic compassion for an injured person. I hope if I ever have… to go back to that facility, I don’t get the same doctor. She was extremely sarcastic. Unfortunately, my mom had the same issue when she went years ago to this facility. I was hoping that it would change once it became Affiliated with Shands but unfortunately, this is not the case. I think that the doctors and nurses need to SHOW more compassion especially in times of distress when you are injured.

Yesterday my buddy was run off the road on his motorcycle. He took a spill at roughly 60 mph. He was transported to Flagler Hospital via ambulance. The staff was very professional, courteous, friendly, informative, and… even had a sense of humor. Even the security guard who signed us in as guests was very polite and informative. Highly recommend this Hospital if you're in the need and in the area.

I was admitted into UF Hospital for severe chest pain especially when breathing. They ran bloodwork and tests. Put me in private room in observation floor. Eikou was the Charge nurse, who came in and explained… everything to me. Awesome and caring Charge nurse, all the staff was great. My Cardiologist Dr Tutar came to check on me and next day was discharged. Took about 3 or four days to feel better. The heart medicine Nurse Brandon gave me, nitroglycerin did the trick making the pain more tolerable. Thank you for Eikou and all the staff in that unit and in the ER was great as well.

Cleanliness is an issue. I understand wear and tear, but a sitting area that I have seen no one in all morning should not include trash and large crumbs. The cleaning crew needs to visit the 4th floor sitting area.… Also…my dad was moved into the hallway when the police escorted an individual in, stating they needed the room. There were no less than 10 empty rooms within a stones throw. I am perplexed

I took my son to the er. Worst experience I’ve had. We were at the er for 4 hrs for a broken wrist. They said they were going to give him some Ibuprofen for pain which he didn’t get until we were about leave. The girls… that put the splint on his arm did not know what they were doing and had paper with step by step instructions on it. The room we were in had pills all over the floor when I said something to the nurse he did seem concerned but they weren’t picked up until after we left if at all. The doctors seemed overwhelmed with all the patients and took their sweet time seeing us. I overheard staff talking about the personal life’s and going out to bars and drinking what kinda of credit cards they had and about all the Subscriptions they had. No actual like taking care of patients.

The receptionist was very rude. Upon finally getting to a room about an hour later I was ignored numerous times when pressing the call button for a nurse. The room went up to 80+ degrees twice and the other nurse… refused to help with that. Half of the staff was very disrespectful half of the staff was kind. I was very open about the fact that I have had strep throat before and that I knew what this was. I just needed the prescription for the amoxicillin. I was kept in the emergency room for about eight hours to be told that I did not have strep throat and to be released without any medication’s. This morning I wake up my throat is even more inflamed than before I left, so I had to go to urgent care and pay out-of-pocket to find out that I had strep throat which I told the hospital about. Now it’s much worse. Very unprofessional from the receptionist to the nurses. None of them saw a problem that the room was over 80 degrees and was refused antibiotics. It’s just sad when we are sick and need help our main hospital doesn’t care and lets you leave without proper medication

Going to Flagler Hospital’s ER is rarely a good experience. The staff often come across as rude and make patients feel like they are inconveniencing them. Many employees seem unhappy, and the overall first impression is… not positive. On several visits, staff appeared unprofessional, frequently on their cell phones, wrapped in blankets, and not attentive to patients. The cleanliness of the facility is also concerning. The hospital often appears dirty, and the bathrooms have smelled strongly of urine during my visits. Wait times are always very long. They take forever to do anything. The only reason I come here in an emergency is because it is the closest hospital to my home. Thankfully, the doctor and nurse who treated me were kind, caring, and professional, which made the experience more manageable. Overall, despite the quality care I received from the medical staff, the poor customer service and lack of cleanliness make it difficult for me to recommend this hospital.

If you want immediate and attentive care, I highly recommend going to Baptist ER. Don’t waste your time and energy at Flagler ER. The nurses treated the patient’s pain as if it were insignificant. The patient pressed… the call button and waited 15 minutes before anyone came to see what they needed. Unfortunately, the entire experience with the doctor was even worse. He did not take the time to thoroughly explain the patient’s diagnosis and instead handed me a paper containing the radiologist’s findings. His accent was very heavy and he spoke very fast, so it was difficult to decipher what he was saying. Dr. Munoz did not care about the patient’s condition. I ultimately had to search online to better understand the patient’s condition because very little was explained to us. He stated he was going to prescribe the patient some medication and send the patient home. The patient had to question Dr. Munoz. He did not care for the patient’s inability to walk due to the severe pain and the doctor became aggravated and started to raise his voice and asked what he should do and asked if he should admit the patient and the patient told him of course. He said okay and walked out of the room. Sad that the patient had to tell a doctor what should be done. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of compassion, communication, and attentiveness shown by both the nurses and the doctor. Their behavior made myself and the patient feel as though they were a burden rather than a patient seeking care. And before anyone assumes the department was overwhelmed, it was not busy whenever I left the room, I repeatedly saw staff sitting at their desks. Ironically, the registration staff showed more care and concern than the medical professionals responsible for the patient’s treatment. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. However, my experience in the Observation Unit was completely different. The staff there were outstanding and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. Ms. Brooke, the Observation Unit Manager, was absolutely amazing. If there were a way to specifically rate her and that unit, I would gladly give them 5 stars. The patient’s nurse, Jay, was attentive, compassionate, and genuinely seemed committed to helping his patients. Takelia, the Patient Care Technician, was friendly, funny, and outgoing, and her positive attitude helped calm our nerves during a stressful time. In the Observation Unit, they did an MRI and saw that the patient had to have surgery to remove a growth that was causing the severe pain. The Observation Unit demonstrated the level of professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care that every patient hopes to receive. I am very grateful for the excellent care provided by that team. Wish I could have seen that in the ER!

I have been here 3 times. All not great but YESTERDAY was the worst by far. I had kidney stones (I didn’t know what it was but it was excruciating nonetheless). Basically it was written everywhere that I’m allergic to… NSAIDS. It was even in my chart and she still started to administer an NSAID to me. She stopped pretty quickly but my symptoms take a few hours to appear and when I finally got discharged and went home my eye was swollen because I get angioedema. If she gave me the full dose I would've had anaphylaxis. There was also a student putting an IV in me and messed it up as if I already wasn’t in enough pain. I’ll say they handled me being delirious pretty well but I’m pretty upset about the NSAID thing

I would give this hospital zero stars if I could. My 76 year old mother has been to the ER here three times in the past two months. Tonight I'm actually with her. The staff is callous and rude and the doctor acted like… he didn't have the time to listen fully to her symptoms. He also dismissed me when I tried to explain what she was dealing with. Then after 4 hours of waiting, 3 of those with no sign of medical staff in the room, we asked if the results were in, the nurse got condescending with me about wait times in the Er, then heard the nurse ask him if he's keeping her and he said, and I quote, "I don't know, I'm too busy and haven't had time to look at her results" he then was overheard saying he had 20 patients. 20. Why the hell is there only one doctor for twenty patients?! We aren't in a big city, here. I understand that in the ER it's sometimes a long wait. But I've been to many hospitals, in many towns, many times in my 54 years. I've NEVER had this kind of experience. Not even slightly apologetic that it's this way, no empathy, nothing. Flagler Hospital was much better off before UF flushed it down the toilet, and if this is how UF trains it's medical staff, it's no wonder people in this country are fed up with the medical community.

I am really impressed with the care I received from this hospital. From the moment I arrived at the ER everyone was amazing. The nurses, and doctors all listened. I felt like they actually heard me which can be rare… sometimes. I was admitted and the team that took care of me was amazing. I had one problem with one nurse which was addressed but overall they all were extremely empathetic, and caring. The doctors were so thorough. I'm really impressed with them. When you are so sick you want to feel heard and need help and this hospital listened and helped. The care team was amazing from my nurses to the doctors. Even when I had procedures everyone was so kind. Thank you UF Health for the great care I received.
