GenPsych – Rochelle Park Detox and Rehab Services

GenPsych – Rochelle Park is recorded as offering partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.

Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. Ask directly about session times and frequency, as those details decide whether someone can realistically attend.

GenPsych – Rochelle Park Address, Location and Contact Information

218 Route 17 North, Rochelle Park, New Jersey, 7662 is the address held. This address falls in Bergen County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.

A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Admissions lines are frequently busiest early in the week, which is worth knowing if the first attempt fails.

How Much Does Treatment at GenPsych – Rochelle Park Cost?

Before insurance, typical prices in New Jersey put partial hospitalization at $9,000 to $18,000 a month and standard outpatient care at $1,500 to $6,000 a month. GenPsych’s own fees were not found at the time of writing, so the figures describe the state as a whole.

Programs usually price the intake assessment, group therapy and individual counseling into the fee. If you need a specialized therapy such as EMDR, ask GenPsych whether it is offered and what it costs. A direct call is the quickest way to get an accurate figure.

This place was a wonderful experience through and through. The staff is kind, organized, knowledgable, and welcoming. I could not recommend GenPsych more.

As a recent graduate of the GAP (GenPsych Adolescent Program) Day Group, I would like to provide an overview of my experience. Many parents enter the program without clear expectations, which can impact the quality of… care their children receive. In my experience, the program placed limited emphasis on addressing practical, day-to-day challenges and developing coping skills within the group setting. The rotating group structure often felt repetitive and ineffective. Outside of individual sessions, clients had restricted opportunities to discuss relevant topics with peers, making it difficult to manage ongoing stressors. I also found the psychiatrists unhelpful, as they did not follow treatment plans unless clients disclosed their current medications. During my time in the program, I observed repeated instances of bullying and passive-aggressive behavior between staff and clients, as well as occasional altercations. Staff appeared to lack control over several aspects of the program. Overall, the facility seemed to address issues superficially rather than providing meaningful therapeutic support. Based on my experience, I would advise caution when considering this facility for care. Side Note: The staff has been deleting comments. Please consider this.

WORST PLACE TO GO EVER!! terrible staff and terrible people running the groups! THE THERAPIST THERE HELD ME AGAINST LEAVING AND DID NOT SPEAK WELL AT ALL! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! THE THERAPIST NAME IS HUNTER AND… HE IS THE WORST PERSON ON THE PLANET! YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES FOR HOW YOU TREAT CLIENTS!

As a parent, I cannot recommend GenPsych based on our experience. My son entered the adolescent PHP after being diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder. We never expected miracles, but we did expect a team… willing to understand his condition and work with us. Instead, we often felt the need to educate the treatment team about his diagnosis rather than feeling confident they understood it themselves. Communication was another significant disappointment. I reached out to the program's psychiatrist on three separate occasions regarding my son's medication management. I even expressed my concern that the lack of communication was disappointing, especially given how important it was to understand how to safely manage his medications after discharge. Despite those repeated attempts, I never received a response. We also experienced repeated issues with virtual access, and it often felt like attendance was prioritized over individualized treatment. Most disappointing was the lack of effort to truly connect with my son or understand the complexity of his condition. After discussing our concerns with the program, our family ultimately decided it was in his best interest to discontinue treatment. Families seeking mental health care deserve compassion, collaboration, and providers who listen. Sadly, that was not our experience.

I was a client here a few months ago on the adult program. I can't imagine where I would be without this place. The groups were a supportive and safe place to share. The individual therapy I received was helpful. Emily… was kind and challenged me where I needed it most. We always went at my pace and I felt in control of my treatment. Emily, Juan, and Hunter are great therapists and really helped me get through a tough time. If you need help this is the place to go!

My daughter recently graduated from Genpsych. Her therapist was very supportive and helpful. All of the staff there were so helpful when I had a question too! My daughter also showed a great deal of progress while she… was at genpsych. My daughter had been to multiple programs before this one. Genpsych was the best one she’s been to.

Twice in one week I almost get ran over walking my dog by a gigantic speeding white van. When I screamed slow down, the man driving slams the brakes and reverses, only to yell profanities at me. My neighbor heard this… commotion and informs me that that is their child's school driver. Turns out this lunatic works in this facility transporting children. Can you imagine having this madman be responsible for the safety and transportation of children. Luckily my neighbor gave me the license plate number. My husband and I are seriously considering reporting this to the police.

Stay far, far away from GenPsych in Rochelle! I pulled my niece out after what she experienced with one of their drivers which was an older dark gentleman driving a huge oversized white van. She told me he constantly… stared at her through the rearview mirror and would say things like she looked “very pretty” and comment on how she was dressed. It came off flirty and completely inappropriate. She felt uncomfortable every single ride. On top of that, he has serious road rage, yelling, cursing at other drivers, driving aggressively while transporting kids. It’s chaotic and unsettling. This is supposed to be transportation for vulnerable children. Instead, it felt unsafe and unprofessional. Families deserve better!! -Update 3/3/26 This shady place tried to hide my review from the public to see! Be aware of how shady they are with reviews, imagine with children!! Update 3/10/26 This is the third time they have tried to remove my review! They keep trying to prevent the truth from being shown!!

TL;DR: This program has excellent group therapy and several outstanding providers, but my experience with individual therapy and the handling of consent and billing issues significantly detracted from my overall care. I… am giving this program 3 stars, and I want to be clear that I would have given it 5 stars were it not for my experience with individual therapy. The group therapy component was excellent. The clinicians who facilitated the groups were knowledgeable, compassionate, and created a genuinely supportive environment. I found the group work to be meaningful and beneficial to my treatment, and I am grateful for that part of the program. I also want to specifically acknowledge Hunter and Juan, who facilitated group therapy. Both were thoughtful, compassionate, and skilled at creating a safe and respectful group space. Their groups were grounding and well-run, and they made a meaningful positive impact on my experience. I would also like to recognize Albert, who was a wonderful provider. He was attentive, compassionate, and supportive, and consistently made me feel heard and respected. My interactions with him reflected the level of professionalism and empathy patients hope for when entering treatment. Unfortunately, my experience with my assigned individual therapist, Emily, significantly impacted my overall care. I entered this program during a period of significant emotional distress and was actively seeking care, support, and stabilization. In my experience, the individual therapy I received did not provide that. Throughout my sessions, I found her to be emotionally unavailable and dismissive, particularly during moments when I was vulnerable. I have participated in several treatment programs over the years, and this was the first time I experienced an individual therapeutic relationship that felt consistently cold and lacking in understanding or care. When I shared openly, I often felt met with a critical or judgmental tone rather than curiosity or support. The approach felt directive rather than collaborative, which made it difficult to engage meaningfully or feel safe expressing myself. I also want to note an experience that felt particularly discouraging. Emily was aware that I was pursuing additional treatment to supplement my care and that I would need to miss a day in the program for that reason. I was told I would be required to provide a written note for each absence, despite having already signed a release authorizing her to communicate directly with the other treatment provider. While I understand that documentation requirements may be part of program policy, the way this was communicated felt corrective rather than supportive or collaborative. This approach felt unnecessarily rigid and non-collaborative, and left me feeling unsupported in my efforts to responsibly manage my care. Additionally, I believe it is important for prospective patients to be aware of the program’s laboratory practices. The program utilizes an out-of-network laboratory, with individual lab tests billed at approximately $1,500 each. When I expressed discomfort and clearly stated multiple times that I did not consent to assuming financial responsibility for these charges, I was repeatedly told by Emily that signing paperwork accepting financial responsibility was required. My concerns were not met with understanding or discussion, but rather with continued pressure to sign despite my objections. In a therapeutic setting, compassion, collaboration, transparency, and respect for patient consent are essential. While the group component of this program — and providers like Hunter, Juan, and Albert — were strong, my experience with individual therapy and the handling of billing and consent issues fell short of those standards and significantly impacted my overall experience.

We are so grateful for GenPsych. They were a blessing when we didn’t know where or who to turn to for help. I truly believe it had a positive affect on our son during a very difficult and emotional time. His therapist… was awesome and the group therapy was his favorite. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is the front desk staff were not very friendly; not rude or anything like that just not very welcoming.

This place has genuinely been so beneficial for me. I was only here for 10 weeks but was greeted with open arms, respect, and kindness by every staff member. I have seen a significant improvement in my mental health and… have witnessed and participated in so many insightful and thoughtful conversations. The environment is warm and friendly, and clean :)

My highest recommendation for the adolescent program. My own child was here, and they received excellent care. They were in the adolescent PHP/IOP track. They learned excellent coping skills, rebuilt their self esteem,… and made friends. The staff really invested themselves in my child’s recovery. I received regular communication, and they partnered with me every step of the way. The techs were actually really kind and personable, and were a huge part of my child’s positive experience. The psychiatry providers are excellent and really focused in on my child’s needs. I am eternally grateful to the staff at GenPsych in Rochelle Park, and they have my emphatic recommendation.

adult dbt track is excellent. it’s group oriented and highly structured which i feel was beneficial for me — however don’t expect many 1 on 1 sessions with your therapist other than 1x/week. knocking off a star because… i feel the partial care program (a continuation of the IOP program that keeps you a few hours longer) could benefit from a bit more substance to it — it wasn’t really as helpful for me when i was placed in it.

Horrific experience. Therapists aren't licensed professionals most of the time. Some are merely interns. Not saying that is always an issue, as you have to start somewhere. However the lack of psychological experienced… portrayed by this team has been atrocious. I had made requests for individual therapy. According to the "program" you cannot request intensive therapy sessions for more than one day a week. I came in needing serious assistance and care. They treat patients like children in a preschool class. You're essentially forced to attend ONLY group DBT sessions or else you are kicked out of the program. I find it a bit counterintuitive because in order to learn skills you would need to address these kinds of issues individually I'm assuming. According to GenPsych, apparently not. You are either forced to talk about Moana and cupcakes, or are forced to deal with one of the insensitive snobby therapists whom probably think that being a licensed therapist or social worker implies that you've read half of the DSM 5. I would give it a half a star rating because the only respectful individual that I've met there was the lady whom works at the front desk.

They are also deleting comments some how on here, I had a horrible experience at this site for multiple years and expressed that last year here in full, was wondering if the company replied to my comment and realized it… wasn't there as well as my friends comments who were speaking on their experience. If your going to genpsych don't go to this location.
