My husband, Troy, had spine surgery here. We drove down specifically for Dr. Graves but I was quite impressed with the following staff members: John- nurse pre surgery. Took great care to get a full history of my… husband prior to surgery and reassured him Abby - took good care of my husband in recovery post surgery. And despite that I couldn’t physically be with him due to hospital rules - gave the phone so we could talk. She kept me updated every hour and was so kind! Tiara- ortho nurse on floor 4E. Took my husband’s pain seriously and had a lovely bedside manner. Genuinely cared about his well being Wuumi- night nurse on floor 4E - great sense of humor and had a lot of patience and even gave me an ice pack of my knee I saw the negative reviews but if you have a loved one who is having surgery here they are in amazing hands. It was well worth the drive where we live to have him taken care of here. Thank you to Dr. Graves’ team and Springfield Memorial for ensuring my husband received excellent care and support
Sent in a request for a paper saying I was disabled week ago .called today girl tells me they never sent in the request. Poor communication by all of them .as they say working harder at not doing the work than doing the… work .
i dont know if its here but maddie harris and brooklyn i dont know her las name but they vape and all that in your bathroom while working in the food department
The service was horrible!
Wonderful!!
DENYS HELP TO YOUNG BLACK MEN I’ve stated I couldn’t breathe I was told sit back down I’ve been here for over an hour swollen neck and everyone’s being called before me.
The techs here have been rude to our loved one & are acting like we’re an inconvenience to them. Turning call bell off several times when needing help and answering it rudely. As a CNA this is highly unacceptable and… rude.. have some respect of others 😢. We understand being short staff and having many patients is hard but this is not how you treat a patient.
I have been here many times and the employees are fantastic. They are caring and hard working. From my first experience 26 years ago to my most recent, everything about this place has been fantastic except for one… thing. That thing is getting into this place. Dark entrance and difficult to find places. People are friendly but they work in a place that has a dark and unfriendly entrance. The first thing I notice is that it makes me feel like an entrance to a slaughter house If you compare the sensation of entering Lincoln Memorial to Springfield Memorial, it is like entering a sunlight garden vs. A darkened hallway. Once in you are will encounter a desk With the screeners...maybe you will get by, maybe not. But, even if there is a line, stand and wait because there are no places to sit until you get by the screeners. You may or may not get a welcoming smile.
I went to Springfield Memorial Hospital’s ER with severe abdominal pain and spent over six hours sitting in the waiting room in agony. During that time, the lobby emptied and filled back up again, yet I was never… called. When I finally reached my breaking point and went to the desk in tears, I was told I was still 6th in line. I asked how that was possible when nearly everyone who had been there before me had already been seen and countless people who arrived after me had gone back first. No one could give me an explanation. By that point, I was in excruciating pain, terrified, exhausted, and emotionally overwhelmed. I wasn’t asking for special treatment—I was begging for help. About ten minutes after breaking down, they finally called me back. Unfortunately, things only got worse. I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience instead of a patient in crisis. I had a CT scan, and I was told, “You have gas…and we see a growth on your pancreas.” That was essentially the extent of the conversation. No meaningful explanation. No reassurance. No urgency. No plan. I was in the back for less than 30 minutes before being discharged and sent home still in severe pain. Think about what that feels like as a patient. You tell someone they have a growth on their pancreas—something many people immediately associate with cancer—and then send them home without answers while they are still suffering. I left that hospital in the same intense pain I arrived with, but now I also left carrying overwhelming fear that I might have a life-threatening illness. I have never felt so dismissed, dehumanized, or abandoned by a healthcare facility. Patients come to the emergency room during some of the worst moments of their lives. We deserve compassion, communication, and care—not to be treated like a burden and sent home wondering if we’re dying. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. I sincerely hope Springfield Memorial Hospital takes a hard look at how patients in severe pain are treated because no one should ever leave an emergency room feeling as hopeless and ignored as I did.
My daughter is currently here in the ICU. She has been in serious condition on a ventilator. The folks in ICU are very good and I would rate them at five stars on this particular floor. However, the security team and… the method of processing visitors into the hospital is a disaster. You are required to have a visitor sticker, which does not stick well after having it on your shirt for 8 to 12 hours, and we were told that we needed to create a password? The security guard made us march to the main lobby to get new stickers, even though we had been up all night horrified and stressed by what our daughter had been through. Instead of simply checking our ID, he had to wield his position of power.
Came for a sleep study. Marie in the sleep lab was very sweet and did an excellent job and was always ready for all of my questions and requests.
If I could rate this a ZERO! It would be!!!! I went to the ER last Friday night and was as admitted Saturday morning. I was having chest pain, it was in my left arm and tightness in my chest. They gave me a lot of… different medicines, took blood so many times and I had to wait till yesterday to get discharged. All because they wanted to do a ct scan to look at my coronary arteries. I also was in isolation because of many years ago of having MRSA, got tested and cleared but they still had to keep me in isolation the whole time! In being there from Friday to yesterday, the only thing that was good were the nurses/techs I had! To top that all off, they didn’t even give me papers saying what i was in the hospital for in my discharge papers! I will never utilize this hospital again. I had to miss 5 days of work because of having to be stuck in that hospital!!!
I am writing this review specifically for a nurse named Olivia who works on 6E IMC floor at Memorial Hospital. My father in law has been in and out of the hospital since December when he suffered a stroke. On his most… recent visit here we have been very lucky to have Olivia taking care of him the majority of the time he has been here. She is absolutely wonderful. Her work ethic is above and beyond. She truly cares about her patients and it shows. She has taken such good care of my father in law which has been such a huge relief to our family during this difficult time. I just can’t say enough good things about her. If you or your family are lucky enough to have her as your nurse you will know what I mean. Thank you Olivia from the bottom of our hearts.
They treated me like garbage. For context, I am a person that gets life threatening seizures when there is an electrolyte imbalance in my blood, I'm sick, and have been unable to eat for 2 or 3 days, For the most part I… can handle this living alone and with my doctor and proper medication - but sometimes accidents happen. Just like they would someone with an allergy. Anyway...because I had been honest in taking a supplement that could be contributing to my anxiety and withdrawals, one of the workers there that had me unknowingly and unlawfully (meaning she didnt fully explain what I was signing and didnt listen to ANY of my concerns. Middle aged (50-55) portly lady with glasses and dark hair with gray silver streaks, made me sign an 'Against Medical Advice" waiver despite the fact I told her I cant make it home on my own and need a social worker to help me get a ride home. Her AND THE HEAD or Charge NURSE (ill find out exactly because one was kind) said if I could walk down the bathroom down to the hallway, I was fine to walk the 2 and a half hours plus all the way home. On a fractured foot with a back injury that made me take the pain medication in the first place. They kicked me out when I AM DISABLED and had arrived by ambulance, with no one to help me get home even though they HAVE SOCIAL WORKERS ON CALL 24/7 365! Yes we plan on suing!
Great job by staff. Excellent care by everyone ❤️
Been in waiting room over 2 hours and they have called 0 names to be seen. Have watched 5 people leave with wristbands on! You have got to fo better!
I had surgery to remove half my kidney because of cancer. They were supposed to get me up and walking every couple hours and they only did it three times while I was there. I was sent home with my jp port still in and… my oxygen levels in th 80s. After I got home, I had to go to the emergency room at my local hospital and they kept me there for another day and helped me get back on my feet again. I will hopefully never have to go to Springfield Memorial again
Me & my family have gotten plenty of care here done over the years. I was transferred to another floor which was 5. They were rude disrespectful to my mother & noncompliant. The nurse manager for the floor was the… rudest. Sarah came in nasty attitude being sassy talking with her hands and neck counter less times I was in shock. I asked my nurse and tech is she always like this & they said “yes she’s new and she been like this since she started”. I felt bad for my mom but more the staff because I heard she makes it a hostile work environment for everyone. PICK BETTER STAFF & PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY CARE!
My daughter and I had a very frustrating and concerning experience at Memorial Medical Center’s ER. The triage process was poorly handled from the start. The triage nurse was dismissive and rude, which immediately set… the tone for the visit and made an already stressful situation worse. What was most concerning was the lack of reassessment. Despite ongoing symptoms, there was little to no follow-up while waiting (unless the patient insists and is willing to deal with the triage nurse’s rudeness). Patients should not feel forgotten once they’re placed in the waiting area, especially when their condition involves pain and potential complications. The wait time itself was excessive, but what made it unacceptable was that it appeared to be prolonged due to missed or forgotten orders. A pregnancy test and CT scan were delayed simply because they were not properly processed, which significantly extended the time spent waiting without answers or care. I understand that ERs can be busy, but basic communication, organization, and patient respect should never be compromised. This experience reflected a breakdown in both clinical workflow and patient care. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so improvements can be made for future patients.
I don't know about the other people's experience but this hospital treated my mother and my family wonderful I can't say enough good things about this hospital My aunt is currently stage for lung cancer at St John's… right down the street and they're treating her like trash Springfield memorial is a wonderful hospital St John's is a terrible hospital
My daughter came here after OHSS complications from donating her eggs to a family friend who could not have children. For descriptive purpose, the ER doctor was an Asian lady who was incredibly rude and condescending.… She did not take her concerns seriously at all and treated her like she was a drug addict. Tried to give her a nebulizer to dismiss her shortness of breath claims and discharge her. After the MRI and blood tests confirmed she indeed had water in her lungs and was not on drugs, my daughter was taken seriously hours later. On top of all of this, my daughter kept insisting they call the IVF clinic to assist since OHSS is not common in rural hospitals, but the arrogant doctor said it wasn’t necessary. The doctor finally called hours later and my daughter was admitted due to the severity of the complications. Instead of the doctor admitting that she was wrong she stated very rudely “I need to get you out of my hair.” This happened a few years back but my daughter re-discovered the video she took of the whole ordeal and showed me. She was young and didn’t know she could have contacted the hospital admin to make a formal complaint.
I was cared for with concern, dignity, and respect. Thank you so much to my nurses Gay, Abby, Caleb, Allana, Christina, and Brooklyn. Dr. Narla is amazing as is the cardiac team. Everyone works so well together to make… a difference in those they are caring for. B-6 has amazing people I will not go to another hospital or emergency room except Memorial. I always receive exceptional care. Whether it is my heart doctor, my Neurologist, Neurosurgeon, or any doctor I've seen in the ER.
These are the most incompetent people I think I've ever experienced Ella, the tech is the only person here that goes above and beyond the call of duty. And one of the nurses, jane, was the only other person that had any… sense around here
I cannot say enough positive comments on the treatment I received during my stay. EVERYONE with one exception was wonderful, caring & made a difficult time easier. The food was great & staff on the 3rd floor superior.… Thank you so much!
I just had open heart surgery full open heart I had a valve replaced. And every single one of the nurses doctors and employees there acted above board unbelievably professional and kind. I've never in my life… experienced the kind of love from a hospital that have experienced here. They were $140,000% on top of their game every time I needed something I got it they were there every day all day making sure I took my walks making sure I had my pain medication my heart medication. If you listen to what these wonderful people tell you they will fix what's wrong with you if they can. I not only had my expectations blown but there were things that they cared on me that I never have to worry about anymore or my family. Things that plague my mind for a long time and it kept me from a good career. I hope somebody reads this cuz these people deserve a little respect and love. I'm going to put a list of people on here that took care of me I consider them angels. Nobody lost their patience with me everybody treated me with a kind hand and made sure I was all good. I've read some of these reviews and I think I can read between the lines here and see what's really wrong with folks. But this hospital doesn't deserve a 2.8. and the doctor's positions and employees sure as hell don't. After I came here and seen this review I realize I'm not just going to write a review I'm going to have to call somebody a news station. Or something cuz I owe my life to these people and I wouldn't be alive much longer if it wasn't for them. The people up there are the best and I'll never forget them I'll never forget their names or their faces. And I'll never forget the stories we exchanged. I want to thank these amazing folks by name so here goes first of all to my heart surgeon William Stevens your magic hands saved my life thank you so much for giving me a second chance God bless your heart ❤️🌹.
