50-D Audubon Road in Wakefield puts Aftermath Behavioral Health inside a short drive of Lynnfield, Reading and the towns around them. The practical catchment runs to roughly 4 miles, covering Reading, Saugus, Peabody and Stoneham. Wakefield sits in Middlesex County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

Aftermath Behavioral Health provides partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. SAMHSA holds the federal registration; the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services the state license. This is a mental health service rather than an addiction treatment facility. Some contact can happen by video rather than in person.

I’ve had a really positive experience with Aftermath Behavioral Health. It’s truly helped me grow and become more self-aware. The staff create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where I felt comfortable opening up… and working on myself. Because of that, I’ve learned healthier ways to cope with stress and better understand my thoughts and emotions. I’m really grateful for the impact this place has had on me and would recommend it to anyone looking to make real changes in their life.

Aftermath has been the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me There is not one day that I arrive and not be greeted by staff and fellow members without love, understanding and no judgment . The staff is always… there to support and help you through any difficult situation. I wish I could stay forever ! The full rooms on alumni nights ( the 1st Tuesdays of the month) are testament to how many ppl still rely upon the friendships and support you will always receive! I will be forever great full for being part of this community and team. ALONE I CANT. TOGETHER I CAN ❤️❤️

Aftermath is an incredible place with truly caring, knowledgeable, and compassionate owners, staff, members and community. If you’re looking for help whether you’re struggling with mental health, addiction, or just… navigating day to day life this is definitely the place to go.

These guys are pretty ableist if you're disabled so don't waste your breath or your time. If you have a chronic illness they will shame you and say that you're not committed even though you're trying to go to doctor's… appointments just to stay alive. They don't actually care about their people, they care about the revenue from your insurance company. It's their way or the highway they have no ability to see any other perspectives other than their own. They're super ableist and I can say that with my full chest I have screenshots to prove it. Run far away.

Aftermath behavioral health was one of the biggest and best decisions I made for my mental health! After having a baby and suffering from post partum severely I needed more than just my visits with my therapist I needed… a daily connection to people who struggled with some of the same things I do and the professionals who helped me navigate my care steps! The facility is beautiful and the team is unbelievable, professional, compassionate, knowledgeable and willing to take this extra steps and that extra time that some people may need on those really rough days! I would recommend to anyone struggling and wanting to get help and if ever needed I would not hesitate to call them again! Thanks to Matt and all the staff for helping me get past a really hard time In my life!

ABH was just what I needed. I discovered that leaving my mental health untreated was detrimental for me. I have received diagnosis's and treatment that makes sense. The staff is amazing. The outpatient aspect gave me… the ability to tend to my daily responsibilities while receiving the treatment I need. Forever grateful!

I’ve had the pleasure of working hand and hand with the folks over at Aftermath for some years now. Their approach to amazing client care is second to none. I’d send my family members here and know they will get the… care they need from the best around.

The entire staff is next level. From top to bottom, they are well trained and loving professionals who work hard and effectively to enact change in your life. They truly care, you can feel it and when you leave for the… day you go home feeling better about life and happier knowing there are good people out there like Nicole and Ramos and Clay and Katie (name?) and Nikki and Jenna the director extraordinaire and John whose done nothing short of save my life, who are hard at work helping people get better and get back on a path to the good life we all deserve. My background, I studied to be a clinical psychologist myself at The College of the Holy Cross. I have dealt with mental health issues and substance abuse issues on and off (mostly on) for the last 25 years. I know the process well and know good care well. As an aside, the treatment center for drug and alcohol abuse who I wholeheartedly gave a 5 star endorsement, I would have given 10 if I could, under the direction of Matt Ganem the Poet, is a place of healing and redemption. Nothing short of life-changing and I will be forever grateful to those amazing people. I learned that what I had hoped to be true was indeed true and I too could redeem myself like the Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 who rises from the ashes, the Aftermath mascot. And to borrow a quote from Shakespeare, “Like bright metal on a sullen ground, my reformation glittering over my fault shall show more goodly and attract more eyes than that which hath no foil to set it off. I’ll so offend to make offense a skill, redeeming time when men think least I will.” Godspeed and do yourself a favor, if you’re looking for help, take action and go to Aftermath. Peace & Love.
