PFA pretends to teach people accountability, but they themselves don't want to take accountability for their own poor behavior and actions.

I love the entire staff at PFA Counceling. They are very good at what they do, and they work with you one on one, and in group settings. They are extremely easy to talk to, and a very comfortable environment to be in. I… highly recommend this organization.

This business communicates sensitive private health information (PHI) to clients and others electronically through unsecure email. After this being an ongoing issue for months since the beginning of my experience with… this business, I finally decided to politely request that they stop sending PHI through email and explained that my concern stems from the fact that emails are unsecure forms of communication. I did not receive a response, but when I attended my regularly scheduled appointment the next day, I was removed for superficial reasons (they force you not to be in public, even if you are alone in a corner with headphones in or if you have a security screen protector on your device that prevents others from seeing your screen.) I was not allowed an opportunity to move to another area, was removed from the session and not allowed to rejoin. I did not have access to any of the intake documents or agreements I signed on their client website like I was told I would have all the time. I was subsequently discharged in retaliation for sharing my concerns about the mishandling of PHI. PFA claims this decision was not retaliatory or personal, but it happened immediately after bringing the issue to their attention. They claimed it was because I owed a balance that magically appeared on my account, for things I shouldn't have been charged for, and that they subsequently waived upon discharge because they knew I shouldn't have been charged "no-show" fees. They also said it was because the client-provider trust had been breached due to the PHI incidents. PFA does not treat their clients equally. Some are allowed to carry balances week-to-week or month-to-month while others are expected to pay for each session in full before services are provided. They excuse some people from group sessions for work, but don't want to excuse people for academic purposes (educational obligations for college courses that college students pay thousands of dollars for.) Lastly, and most importantly, they artificially inflate progress review numbers for factors that are either not areas of concern in your life at all or factors that are not discussed very much, if at all, in order to try to keep you in treatment longer than necessary. There are some factors on the treatment reviews that shouldn't be considered at all as they are irrelevant. The numerical values they enter on the reviews are subjective to the provider, who has a financial interest in keeping clients in treatment, and are not based on objective truth.

Would rather ruin someone's life then admit they made a mistake.

Don't waste your time on this place, there is never anyone available to talk to even after phone calls and emails. The reviews about scheduling are correct. You either make it or don't. If you are attending because of… court, then do yourself a favor and don't play with your freedom. Go somewhere else.

I am a better person, and my life is in a much better place because of Caroline's counseling investment and input into my life. Her gentle kindness and insightful counsel helped me to see the bigger picture and make… better choices. The resulting quality of my life has risen exponentially! I have a life worth living now and again gratefully say Caroline's compassion, engagement and understanding along with remarkable knowledge of motivation and mental health dynamics helped to get me here!

Worst place they will make you do tons of classes and still fail you unsuccessful ! And they won’t give you credit if you transfer to another counseling service they just want to fail everyone and send you back to jail… do not recommend !

Absolutely unprofessional refused to schedule appointment because I expressed issues with there scheduling of the initial assessment. I would like the owner to contact me as well as I'll be filing complaints with BBB as… well as the DV board they get licensing through.
