Parent Call Research Center – Derby Reviews and Ratings
What is Parent Call Research Center like for patients? Reviews in this section, from RehabSeekers and from around the web, describe the program in the words of patients and families who know it.
As a parent trying to get my daughter the help she needs, this experience was beyond frustrating it was disheartening and, at times, felt like a complete lack of care for her medical needs. The group therapy (IOP)… itself was fine, though not a great fit for my daughter. But everything outside of that was a constant struggle. When she first started, her medication situation was not urgent however, it quickly became urgent, and the first appointment we were offered for medication management was over a month and a half out. We were eventually placed into a canceled appointment, but even that was still too far out, and she could no longer tolerate the side effects of the medication. Getting her seen for medication management was extremely difficult, and the concerns we raised both from me and my daughter were not taken seriously. For a program treating high-risk patients, the lack of urgency and attention to medical needs is deeply concerning. Patients coming from hospital settings need timely support and guidance not delays and silence. Communication was one of the biggest failures. Waiting over a week for responses while your child is actively struggling is unacceptable. We also received little to no meaningful support with FMLA paperwork, which only added to an already overwhelming situation. Most concerning of all, my daughter was experiencing serious symptoms, including seeing and hearing things and severe night terrors to the point she was afraid to sleep. These were brought to staff’s attention and were not treated with the urgency they required. She is now back in the hospital, and I firmly believe this could have been prevented if her medical needs had been taken seriously and addressed appropriately. Families turn to programs like this during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. What we experienced was not support it was a lack of responsiveness, lack of urgency, and a clear lack of care for her medical needs. I would like to add however that the staff that did our intake were fantastic, and unfortunately gives false hope that you made the right decision beyond that intake appointment.
Allie is amazing! My son absolutely loves her, we all do! She is so sweet, easy to talk to and she has helped my son so much! I'm happy he got her because they are a perfect match!! I would recommend her to all parents… because she is awesome with kids! Thank you Allie!! I didn't realize this was a public post so I had to come back and edit it.... All 3 of my boys receive services here and we started with Amber who is the so sweet, she knows how to calm a difficult situation in seconds. My son has came so far and will continue to see her as long as needed, my son and the family love her too! They too are a perfect match!! Thank you Amber! A few months ago my youngest also started with Daneille and she reminds me of myself when I get on the floor and play like a big kid. She is also very sweet and knows how to deal with my very energetic boy. Again I believe these 2 are a perfect match! My son and family love her too! Thank you Danielle! The one downside I would have to mention is we had one bad session and I won't mention any names, but they make you call the person and tell them you want a new counselor. I think that is truly unprofessional and it was really uncomfortable to do. Aside from that I am pleased with most all of the staff members! Thanks again!!
She has worked great with my daughter
We have been seeing Jamie for over 2!yrs and I have not a better way to describe her as a person very professional, kind, knowledgeable , reliable, and trustworthy.. she has help my son tremendously even when things get… out of her ways she kept her professionalism and always de escalated accordingly. Today I can re assured you my son is doing much better, and I am a very grateful I have Jamie as my son counselor.
My girlfriend goes to this in group therapy right now and has never been more worse. She is going backward if anything, she was doing better right before the group, and ever since, she's been dealing with a lot, and the… group doesn't offer anything she doesn't already know. Don't bring your child here. It was the worst therapy I've ever seen. I've known my gf for 5 years, and she hasn't ever been this bad.
Definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been going there for about a year now! My therapist is very strict but the people who work there including her really care about the children I definitely recommend the therapist Kat… grankie but the only downside was the IOP it wasn’t the best they were not expecting behaviors that kids where doing even though that’s why they are there but iop is not the best but great therapy
Worse therapy to go too seriously the staff are rude and miserable they signed my child out of services the therapist informed me a few days before her departure left my child with no services no medication receptionist… are old and miserable or young and don’t want to do their job they hung up on me and when I called back I was sent to voice mail been here 3 years and have not seen any progress all over seen is my child going backwards
Been going here for years now, I've read all the reviews on here and I cant say I've had any bad experiences, the front staff is great with calling for appointments, the therapy is great the people are so nice and they… are always pleasant and make you feel comfortable.
Please do your child a huge favor and find another patient center. The therapist’s my child saw didn’t have enough experience, or maybe education, to help. My child was there for a year, went to IOP daily and weekly… therapist appts. Dr Keyes, their psychologist, saw my child for approximately 10 minutes a month, how could she be diagnosed correctly? Julie falcone, the head social worker, spoke inappropriately to my child, showed frustration often and easily and it was very uncomfortable when she behaved that way. She’s suppose to be helping, not making the issues worse. I thought I was doing the right thing for my child, looking back it did more harm. Having no success, I had my child evaluated by a neuropsychologist and she was diagnosed with DMDD, a diagnosis which should have been caught by any of the staff at PCRC, but esp Dr. Keyes. A complete waste of time and money.
