BHcare Inc – Ansonia Detox and Rehab Services

BHcare Inc – Ansonia delivers intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Ask what happens if the recommended level of care is not available immediately. Anyone can ask what a typical week looks like before starting.

Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. Establishing what happens after the program ends is worth doing early. Ask how the program handles someone who has been through treatment before.

I am at a complete loss of words for how this place operates. The google rating they have is no surprise, if anything i would expect it to be lower then it is. The people in the billing department should honestly look… for a different job, its been years! Literally years of back and fourth emails, phone calls, and non returned voicemails with them over a issue that stems from their lack of doing their jobs, i had given them everything needed for insurance to be billed and they waited 6 months to enter the info then tell me im responsible for the bill cause its been to long. Then send it to collections on me. Now i have numerous voicemails, and messages left and they cant even call me back. No worries though ill have the BBB and lawyer handle it from here! Stay cleat of BH care dont waste your time or money with them! Rated a 1 cause 0 wasnt an option!

I tried to get Healthcare here and I cannot recommend against this business enough. If you want to participate in ANY mental health service, you must also migrate your psychiatric meds management to their practice. This… isn't unusual but what happened next was. Alyssa pressured me to "just come in" for an intake appointment when I had follow up questions. For days she has failed to answer an incredibly basic and integral question about their meds management practice. "Just come in" When asked about what specifics of the meds management providers (whom she has already established are NON OPTIONAL) she gave answers like I should GOOGLE IT or look at the FDA website because she isn't a prescriber. She declined to get me in touch with a prescriber directly. I'm asking about the three (3) providers at THIS practice, not trying to divine that answer. When I expressed that she said that they reference the FDA page. Either I'm being fed bullshit or they are working on DrGoogle levels of care, and I'm praying it's the first thing. This is incredibly alarming behavior from any practice, especially one that caters to those who may be vulnerable due to their mental health needs. Run, do not walk, away. The pressure to come in for intake has continued throughout, despite my requests for information. I have been left with the impressions that money is the main motivation for this practice (previsit questions get no insurance payout and visits do) and that they are uninterested in a patient actively participating in their own care. This behavior is inept at best and predatory at worst. I wouldn't recommend trying to find out. Honorable mention for the checked out Client Rights Officer who misinterpreted my ADA disability accomodation despite it being typed in plain English and then just not replying when I corrected her two days ago.

I have been with BHCare for a long time. I have had nothing but good experiences with everyone I've ever seen there. From the front end staff, my therapists, doctors and many other people. I highly recommend this… facility if it is the kind of care you need and are looking for.

I've been in coming to BH care since October of 2024. They have been very helpful with getting confusing paperwork filed with me. Groups have been very helpful. My one-on-one therapy sessions have been very helpful. And… I have a great APRN who openly discusses everything I need discussed about my medication. So far, I'm satisfied with the services they provide. When I came to them I was in a really bad place... And I've gotten the help that I needed. So thank you all very much.

I was a part of this program for 3 years and thought i was getting support in my trial just to find out it was discarded because the representative lady didn’t add the information to my case that I provided as asked.… Now my case is closed and the abuser gets no reprocussions all because the representative lady didn’t do anything for my case forgetting to use the provided information given to her and the fact she has been retired and its truly upsetting and hurts because you trust these people who dont do anything. All these staff members tell me its too basically too late to prosecute again and say sorry. Due to their mistakes and lack of communication I will never get a fair chance and it sucks that the one time I took a stand it gets ripped from me.

I was a client there for years. I had an appointment scheduled with my clinician. I forgot what day the appointment was for. I called and they said it wasn’t until the following day but was canceled. Apparently the… facility discharged me and never notified me. I hadn’t seen the med provider in months and ran out of medication. They wouldn't allow me to go there because I moved to Bridgeport and no longer lived in the valley. I was left with no medication and days of anxiety after. They were supposed to call me back and never did. This facility isn’t worth shit. They are lucky to still have a 3 star rating

Total waste of time. After contacting my insurance for medication assistance for my husband that did not require IOP and calling to make sure IOP was not necessary these people denied my husband medical treatment… because we are "out of their jurisdiction" and they mandate IOP". Even tho my husband agreed to do night IOP still denied medical treatment. They referred him to a place that's a longer commute and require IOP as well. All these clincians are just in business to make money on IOP ,nothing else. They have no intentions to help people and are just another statistic for the failing American health system. I'll be reporting to our insurance case manager who personally made phone calls for 3 days to find the proper care that is needed. This place is a joke. Response: Our insurance contacted your facility in advance to see an APRN with her next availability of 1/23. We just had to set everything up. I called in advance and one of your staff members specifically confirmed that IOP was highly recommended but not mandatory. My husband would have to fill out an intake form and assigned a clinician who would then set up the process for medication. Our case manager let us know that my husband would most likely be put on the oral form of the medication first. Then blood work to confirm no complications to get the injection form of the medication. He was not expecting to get the medication that day we understand there's a process. The narrative changes when my husband goes there. He was told IOP is mandatory and even after confirming that he could take the night IOP the clinician still said they would not provide him any services because we are out of "jurisdiction" and you take patients from the valley only. That's just untrue. It's a 15 min drive, the other facilities that provide this service are 25 -30 min away. Nowhere does it say on your website, or when our insurance called, or when I called or when my husband was greeted by your office staff and asked where he drove from did anyone say that we don't take patients from your area. You have 1 star reviews for a reason.

The 12 week DBT IOP Group Therapy freed me of my daily misery. Anyone that is willing to take the treatment seriously can improve their lives through these programs. Kudos to all the clinicians and to all the clients… that are there for their own self-improvement. Happiness is a skill and a personal decision. Any person that believes that these clinicians are no more than glorified social workers is missing the point of all the mental health initiatives. You get out of it what you put into it. I recommend this clinic to anyone who is serious about finding solutions to many, if not all of their personal issues. Four Stars.

Off to an okay start, has a long way to go. I would give three and a half stars if it was allowed. Love every single staff and faculty member a part of BH Care I have been in contact with, for the most part. They kind… of need to be shallow with you and not too invasive probably due to HIPPA and some sort of fear of being sued. I went here voluntarily, and they have diagnosed me with something pretty heavy anyone would have a hard time with. Since I have no kids, and no court record, I feel as if they considered my case to not be that important. I am not made for medications, and believe it would make my condition worse, and I'm very lucky to be sober and have healthy coping mechanisms. The IOP is ran by very nice people, but I could imagine if someone had to pay they would consider it a waste of money and time. I really came there not knowing what to do with my life, and I'm really hoping my now appointed case worker understands how crucial figuring out what I can do with my life at the age of 32 is very important and I'm at a make it or break it age. I just feel as if since I have been involved since February has been a waste of time when I still can't find a job or what to think of my life. No answers besides a heavy diagnosis. Anyways I love the staff at BH Care and the owner as well, I just wish that I was taken seriously for I am in a crisis there's just no drugs or kids or court involved.

I had been going to bhcare for 3 years, if your looking for a place that is going to pass you around from therapist to therapist so you can't rly make a connection with them than this is the place to go. The front desk… is so rude, I've had them give so much attitude and hang up on me a few times. They try to push you into groups you don't even need. If you need to go somewhere for a court thing than sure why not. If your looking for actual help and guidance find somewhere else for sure. You have options out there you don't need to settle.
