Love this place! I come here for MAT, medications and outpatient treatment. The doctors, nurses and staff are so kind, caring and helpful. Having competent care makes Recovery much less stressful.

I was a patient at Apt for nearly 7 years. About two years ago, I started expressing a desire to taper off MAT. However, I noticed that every time I brought it up, the clinicians actively dissuaded me from doing so.… Eventually, I transitioned to a different provider and simply stopped showing up. Apt only called me a single time to check in. It is deeply concerning that a patient of nearly a decade could just disappear with almost zero follow-up. While recovery is ultimately an individual responsibility, I think of all the vulnerable people who might fall off from treatment and face disastrous consequences because this clinic lacks the urgency to reach out and encourage them to return. No other medical practice would let a long-term patient vanish with just one phone call. If you have to use Apt, you must advocate for yourself. Do not let them steer your decisions—you know your body and your recovery goals better than they do. Additionally, it is incredibly frustrating that they use a constant rotation of psychiatrists from Yale as you are forced to get to know someone new and retell your entire story all over again every few months, leaving no room for consistent, personalized care. While the systemic issues and the lack of follow-up are major problems, I did have some helpful and constructive interactions with individual clinicians and providers over the years, which is why I am leaving 2 stars instead of 1.

These providers at Acsess Health are obky concerned scheduling and chargjbg insurance. They will do anything to not see you. If your blood pressure is not on point they dismiss you without your medication even if the… med is physically addictive. The providers at Central Medical are always wonderful

I came in during the walk-in hours and took forever to be seen. I then made two separate appointments after that and the first one I waited over an hour before leaving and the second one I waited over a half hour before… leaving. I know you guys are busy and I know there’s a lot of people that need to help and you guys are probably understaffed and underpaid but if you make an appointment there should be an attempt to keep it

For the methadone maintenance, Staff is nice but theres quite a bit of waiting around. After filling out initial paperwork and questionnaire you have to wait for intake. Then you go upstairs to draw blood, then see the… doctor for dose recommendations and finally back downstairs to get dosed. The whole process takes about 3hrs

What you get depends on who you see and how well you advocate for yourself (like anywhere else).

3 1/2hrs was a bit much especially when you're already in withdrawal & have a 5yr old but I guess that's more of a ME issue than APT foundation. As a whole they are fabulous. Never had any issues, they are even extremely… helpful when in a bind and have no transportation to get to clinic. I would recommend apt foundation for anyone looking to maintain long term sobriety. Edit: the 3 1/2hrs was just the initial intake. I also only went to Long wharf location for intake as well. For my day to day needs I attend the clinic in North Haven. I have no bad things to say about that location either

I am writing this on behalf of my daughter. She went there, thinking that this program was gonna really help her because she Heard good reviews she have not even been there a month she’s afraid to come home. She was… told that if she needed to stay longer, she can and now that her time is almost up, she felt like she did not get the care she expected to get she’s very nervous about leaving and she wanted to get an extension and she was refuse. Yes she was there because of her parole officer upon being there she really liked the place but then she quickly found out that when you are there because of our parole officer, you only get to spend 30 days that is not enough time in my opinion to help somebody she’d spend too many other program for 30 days and it doesn’t help. I do not even know who to reach out to because she’s afraid to come home because she needs additional help if anyone can help me, please respond to this. I’m very worried about my daughter. She’s been an attic for eight years.

If i could give this plavce negative stars i would. My husband goes to the north haven clinic. Now there is a person there assigned to set up medical rides and have paperwork filled out for.veyo for the clients that… require medical transportation to amd from there. Why everry 2 to 3 months my husbands rides arent in the system paperwork is overdue?? Its nonsense. I worked for logisticare booking these EXACT rides for clinics. They dont care about the clients all they carw about is the state mkney they get for these clients. Its sad. But in no way especially on a sat he doesnt have a ride to get dosed and they are closed on sunday. They arent goimg to like me monday

I am fuming and very disappointed at how the staff at the west haven location can so easily have no compassion. My husband and myself have been going here for years, we have a friendly relationship with all staff and… they know us well and then there is today when they were absolutely heartless. We travel from North Madison and my husband couldn’t leave work until 12, the traffic was absolutely horrendous and we got to the program a measly 4 minutes after 1:00 and they straight up refused to even look at or acknowledge us, let alone open the doors. Would it really have been so hard for them to just dose us so we don’t have to get sick over 4 minutes?!??! Is this the compassion of healthCARE workers?!? This is just straight up wrong and uncalled for and now we only have two options that as an addict in recovery you don’t want to do either one.

My daughter was admitted there and she asked me to bring her snacks, cosmetics, money etc...... I was yelled at through an intercom by one if the front staff because snacks were not allowed ( we didn't know) . Another… time I called to speak to a counselor and a lady named Theresa answered and was the RUDEST most UNPROFFESIONAL person I'd ever came across.

It all depends on the person and how ready they are to get clean or not...the apt foundation offers a lot of resources for getting your life back on track but they're not going to j hand it to you, no one can do it for… you, you have to do the footwork and be totally honest with them and with yourself..its a program designed to help individuals that are willing to actually help themselves...are there a lot of faults with the program? Absolutely! But that can be said about every program. As an addict it can be very easy to only look at and focus on the negative...it gives us something to blame and "justifies" our inability to quit...but when one changes their perspective and chooses to focus on the positives around them wonderful things start to happen. So the apt foundation can go either way...it can be a foot in the "right" direction for those who are ready to be honest with themselves and who are willing to do the work necessary to achieve and maintain a better lOR it can be j another "excuse" to not take responsibility or accountability for bettering yourself and your life.....so before listening to any of the reviews on here, positive or negative, take into consideration that said review depends largely on where the person who wrote it is in their recovery process and how ready they may or may not be to truly recover...with all that being said, I personally like the apt foundation...unlike other clinics I've been in they really try to work with you if you're willing to do the work...their harm reduction method I feel is much more beneficial than other clinics who will do a rapid detox if you test positive to marijuana...apt tests for it but could careless if it comes back positive or not...they are more concerned with people abusing drugs that are dangerous to use with methadone such as benzodiazepines, alcohol and other opiates...also, for the people who are ready and able to stay clean, apt is a fairly easy program to achieve "bottle privileges" at, and even offers two week bottle privileges to individuals who have proven they can be trusted with such responsibility....and even for those who are not yet ready to fully recover going to apt can still be beneficial and life saving by at least keeping them off the streets as much as they would be without it

Here is where I receive treatment with respect and compassion. Here Is where I am changing my life! Enough positive things just cannot be uttered about APT- especially the West Haven branch. The staff are simply… awesome, their program is fairly administered and they are not sheep. While rules must be followed, they know life happens and they always work WITH me to find an equitable solution. They are professional, personable, compassionate and caring. The entire staff at the west haven branch should be commended and applauded for their consistently excellent client service. 👍🏼
