Hartford Dispensary – Willimantic Reviews and Ratings
Personal accounts of Hartford Dispensary sit in this section. Patterns across several reviews, such as repeated comments about communication or waiting times, are a better guide than any single account.
Place has continued to go downhill over the past couple years. There lack of basic understanding and communication with patients is baffling and very stressful to say the least. Also good luck getting ahold of them if u… need something important or have a question regarding your recovery progress and even when u do finally reach them it doesn't matter they never follow thru or hold up there end of things but if they need something from you and you don't answer oh how the results magically change when the roles are reversed. The only positive thing I can say about this place as of late is the front desk staff is amazing despite having to do so much and without them I don't think place could even stay open or function it's embarrassing they legit have to hunt down the other employees for the patients and the women at the dosing windows are great to for the most part I can't forget them but over all this place is in a serious decline.
As someone in long-term recovery who also chose to work an addiction and mental health services, I am deeply disappointed by the way I have been treated at this clinic. Today alone, I encountered multiple staff members… whose communication and behavior felt dismissive, degrading, and rooted in stigma surrounding methadone treatment and addiction recovery. A mistake made by staff caused a major delay that resulted in my partner missing an important post-surgery appointment, yet I am given an 'it is what it is' attitude like I wasn't about to get in trouble for something I never did in the first place after proving for ten years that I'm doing the right thing. What many people fail to understand is that individuals in recovery often carry significant trauma. Part of recovery and self-care is learning to protect yourself from degrading, judgmental environments and people. Being confronted by multiple staff members displaying stigma in a place that is supposed to support healing and recovery can be genuinely triggering and emotionally damaging. What scares me would be if somebody in earlier recovering encountered what I did today, It could lead to a potential relapse and as somebody who doesn't even see people I know here anymore because they've all pretty much passed away, I know the risk relapse holds for people in earlier recovery (and people in long-term recovery I just know that this isn't a risk for me I have too much I love in my life to risk losing any of it to ever go back down that road) One experience that especially stood out to me was the response every time I communicated with one if the nurses about stuff going on in college. She could not accept for months that I could be a college student despite many times of me describing things like taking finals... Every time I mentioned school, it was assumed I meant a GED program, as though higher education was somehow unbelievable for someone on methadone. That mindset is exactly the kind of stigma people in recovery fight every day. People receiving treatment deserve dignity, professionalism, and compassionate care. Recovery should not require constantly proving your worth, intelligence, or humanity to the very people entrusted with your care.
Great Place and friendly staff.Counsler Kelly is always available and extremely helpful !
You definitely will get out what you put in while visiting this establishment.
Totally saved my life and got me back on track to livea happy and healthy life!! I was very skeptical at first (many reasons).
I joined this program almost 5 months ago (6/15/23), and so far I am very pleased with the services that they provide. I have been on 2 other programs (New Era in Bridgeport and CT Counciling Center in Danbury) prior to… my joining the Root Center, and in my experience, the Root Center is a far better program. The nurses, the councilors, and the rest of the staff are extremely professional while maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere for their patients. Unfortunately, I did have a couple of false positive urinalysises. However, when they saw how upset I was over the error, they believed me, and approved my take home bottles anyway. That would have NEVER HAPPENED at the other programs I have been on. If you are struggling with addiction and are considering joining the Root Center, do it. Today could be the day that you begin to turn it all around. Make the call. God bless!! It has been a couple of months since my last review. In that time I had my bottles recalled for another false positive. There's been a lot of talk at the program about this issue. Apparently this isn't a "me" problem. It's a "we" problem. Because a high (no pun intended) number of clients are complaining about false positives, and to me, that's a problem. I can't speak for everyone else, but in my case, I know that I haven't used since 6/23. It's now 1/24. I shouldn't have any drugs left in my system. The Root Center really needs to address and fix this issue. Not only is it unfair to be treated punitively when you are innocent of wrongdoing, it is also dangerous to the addict. It's the sort of thing that can topple someone's recovery.
I'm coming up on 4 years sober. And I don't think I would have made it here without this company and their staff. They don't play games and I appreciate that because if someone isn't serious then don't waste people's… time and try to get "free" high. That's the wrong mentality. It's not meant to get you high, it's meant to help prevent you from wanting to get high!. And if you're dedicated they will be dedicated to helping you in every way possible... Thanks ✌️🙏😀
Counsulors think they are better than any body and their urinalysis system is design for failure, also it took two months a four request to to get my dose reduced, and I can tell that only white males are not getting q3… doses to go. They also ran there mouths to someone outside the center, in which is a violation of the HIPPA LAWS, INWHICH MY ATTORNEY AND I ARE FILING A FEDERAL COMPLAINT.
Great place to go nice staff
If you want to get clean and stay off drugs than this works, if you don't than it won't! Plain n simple....
This place helped me a lot , people will say this place is “awful” and the staff is “useless” but that’s not true at all if you follow the rules and respect the staff and pay your bills you will have a good experience… here and get the help you need 👍
is nice to know ,there is a place where drug addict can go for help and this place help the community to become more safe and drug free..no mater how is done or the medication they use to help the individual is still… helping the addict to stay clean and live a Normal productive life and that's amazing.
