About Cottonwood Springs Changes – Olathe
Cottonwood Springs Changes operates from 15040 West 138th Street in Olathe. The site sits in Johnson County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Lenexa, Overland Park and Paola. Kansas draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Partial hospitalization and outpatient care are delivered here. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Care offered spans more than one level, which means someone can move between them without changing provider.

Treatment Services at Cottonwood Springs Changes
Partial hospitalization and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Private-pay rehab in Kansas typically costs $6,500 to $12,000 a month for a partial hospitalization program and $1,000 to $4,500 a month for standard outpatient care. Those are state-level figures, because RehabSeekers did not find published prices for Cottonwood Springs Changes – Olathe at the time of writing.
Most programs build the intake assessment, group therapy and individual counseling into the price, and Cottonwood Springs Changes probably does the same. Mesha and my group is the best!
My spouse was admitted following a serious workplace injury in early March, where he sustained six broken ribs after being pinned between beams in an accident that was determined to be entirely not his fault. During his… hospital stay, he was drug tested for workman's comp and tested positive for marijuana. We live in a state where marijuana is legal. Since that time, he has been placed into intensive outpatient treatment for substance use, in order to keep his job. Despite having no history of drug abuse, dependency, or related issues. He has now completed three weeks of this program, yet is being required to complete an additional three weeks—services that are not covered by insurance. What has been most concerning is the lack of communication and support regarding his ability to return to work. We have made repeated attempts to contact staff for guidance or clearance, but have received little to no response. However, there has been no issue contacting him regarding payment for services. This situation has created significant stress, both financially and emotionally. I have been solely supporting our household at 7 months pregnant with no end of this nightmare in sight. My spouse is trying return to work to provide for our family as we are desperately hurting financially but instead feels stuck in a system that does not appear to be individualized to his situation. Being placed in treatment alongside individuals with severe substance abuse issues has also taken a toll on his mental well-being. We understand the importance of safety and proper evaluation, but there should be a balanced and reasonable approach based on each individual case. At this point, the process feels excessive, unclear, and certainly financially driven. We would strongly encourage better communication, clearer criteria for treatment requirements, and more consideration of individual circumstances moving forward.
Michelle is great person
It was maybe 4 years ago that I went, but I really liked when I did. everything was amazing until I got sent inpatient. I turned 18 in the time I was attending outpatient services here, and I was tenured into the… adolescent program. I loved it. I however hated the inpatient so much that I didn't continue with aftercare, and I was never contacted. They said I could no longer continue with the adolescent program and had to go to the main campus IOP, which obviously I did not do. The adolescent program was great, the adult was not.
They threatened to call my abusive father to get me to stop crying. They told my family in vacinity to me that I was a lost cause and to just stick me in an institution They watched as I was harassed and they did… nothing. They ignored and mistreated me and screamed at me for a disorder i didnt know how to control. They threw me out of group sessions and left me crying alone and afraid in dark rooms with only my alters to comfort me. Dont send your children here.
I would prefer to give zero stars as I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone. They are not skilled in de-escalation techniques or in one-on-one counseling. Their program is based on rote material that they cycle… through and repeat. This might work for a few, when admitted to a mental health facility, but most need more one-on-one patient centered care. I had a loved one admitted to Cottonwood Springs Changes outpatient. Rather than address the core of the anxiety - they advised the patient to “calm down.” As the legal guardian, I struggled to get return phone calls from the counselor. When I finally did receive a call back, he was dismissive, flip and rushed through the conversation. When I went into the building to ask to speak with the program director, I found the staff loitering around the front desk (on two separate occasions). They also gave my loved one’s belongings to another patient - and asked her to return the items - which is a HIPAA violation. I eventually spoke with an Olathe police officer who stated that their department received numerous calls from this facility, often lacking a rational reason for the call. He went on to say that he felt the program director was mismanaging the facility and patients were not treated well. Our school district (in Johnson County) no longer recommends this facility due to negative outcomes for several students within our district. If you or someone you care about needs professional help - go to Renew, Marillac or Children’s Mercy. Do not take them to Cottonwood Springs Changes. It is my hope that the state will eventually take notice and put this facility in the spotlight - so others are aware.
miserable experience here. did php, couldn't bear to stay any longer afterwards. the staff here are extremely arrogant and power hungry. they'll use their position and authority to belittle you and make you feel like… less than you are. please go somewhere else for help.
Zero stars. This place is a joke and should be stripped of its license. Find anywhere else to go for care, this isn't it. Filing a complaint with the KS Board of Healing Arts. Some of the people working here should… never be allowed to work with kids
I think I came out of here more suicidal
I did IOP here. During intake they have you write down what you want to focus on in order to determine the group topics. They suggested I write down something else but self esteem is like the one problem I don't have so… no I don't want to focus on that. Weekly they have you sign a document with your stated goals for legal reasons not explained. This document had their suggestions instead of my stated goals. I got pretty mad when they wouldn't show me the original document and insisted that I happened to write exactly the items they suggested. If it's not a choice maybe they could let us know what the topics are going to be instead of asking and then gaslighting?
