About Groups Recover Together – Parkersburg
Groups Recover Together operates from 4421 Emerson Avenue in Parkersburg. The site sits in Wood County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Blennerhassett, Lubeck and North Hills. West Virginia draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment and telehealth appointments. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Treatment Services at Groups Recover Together
Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Buprenorphine is available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

I know Groups has helped me. The other people who are in the same group as me seem to be doing pretty good too. If you have social anxiety and need addiction help it's the way to go.
I love groups
This is one of the best outpatient programs I’ve ever been involved in. Everyone who works here is very caring and you can tell that they care about you. I love how that when people mess up or go back they don’t kick… you out or talk down to you for it, they ask how they can help you get back on track. I like the weekly meetings and making new friends. It definitely helps talking to other people who are going through the same things in life and celebrating milestones with those friends and people who care. One of my favorites is Ms Jenny who runs the Blfd office. She is an amazing person!
I have been in recovery for a very long time, I have actually not used an illicit drug for years. Unfortunately, I have never felt successful in my recovery until now, after I joined Groups. For the first time since I… stopped actively using narcotics I feel like I am making progress in my sobriety, even though I haven’t used a Narcotic in years. With the Groups program, their staff, & my support team of recovering peers, I finally feel that I am able to take the steps to actually be able to finally ween myself off of buponefrine. Before Groups I had decided that I would be a life long user of suboxone, even though I know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking something that will enable me from wanting to take anything illicit again. I just felt that I had traded having an addiction to multiple narcotics to being addicted to suboxone, & I know there truly is no comparison, however, in my mind an addiction is an addiction no matter what form it is, and the hated the fact that I saw my addictions all as weaknesses no matter if it was caffeine, opiates, methamphetamines, or even Suboxone. However, for the first time since I have been on recovery, I am viewing things differently. I no longer am focusing on what is still wrong with me are my hardships but I am seeing how far I have come, all the things I have overcome, & all the positive things that I have changed in my life & talking to people (counselors, doctors, & group members who have all experienced the same things as me truly makes a difference and has helped me to build the confidence that has helped me to overcome the insecurities that keep bringing me back to those addicted tendencies.
I have a wonderful counselor love the kindness and understanding I get help and support from my groups
