About Salvation Army Clitheroe Center – Anchorage
Salvation Army Clitheroe Center operates from 3630 East 20th Avenue in Anchorage. The site sits in Anchorage County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Point MacKenzie. Alaska draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Residential treatment, intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Salvation Army Clitheroe Center
Residential treatment, intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Residential runs both short and long term, so the question at intake is which length the assessment points toward. Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together.

Salvation Army Clitheroe Center Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 3630 East 20th Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99508, in Anchorage County. The catchment reaches Point MacKenzie. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Opening hours shift with staffing, and an evening slot one month may not exist the next. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

My son stayed there a few years ago and it was the worst experience of his life. He felt unsafe there the whole time he was there. He was not released from prison to go there. He went voluntarily thinking it would help… him overcome his drug addiction. I will not share the horrible experiences he had there because some of them are downright disgusting and were allowed to happen. I will say, if you or a loved one is serious about breaking a drug addiction, do NOT go there!
I don't get this place I take my wife here for something that happened 3 years ago we wait almost 20 minutes hollering for people just to be told wrong building then we go to another building wait another 30 minutes and… be told oh no it's the building that we originally were in if these people can't get their heads on straight why even come here very unprofessional
Went to my Ole man's graduation and the staff members were very friendly and helpful. I'm not sure exactly how their treatment is.
Do they do pee tests? I got till Friday to complete my 12 hour class…
Always great
Counselors and staff are considerate and understanding. This place is truly a God send and has saved many lives. A great place for anyone who is ready for sobriety, recovery, and willing to change.
Great program and it's a great opportunity for people who are serious about their sobriety.
The workers and counselor's are very understanding, and helpful.
Program needs work
People are great...
Customer service was very nice
The staff was rude and not helpful! I was hung up on and not heard. The woman in the Woman's Department was unkind and didn't care. She doesn't seem to care of people in need or help. She should find a new career!
Very generous with food
I love how they accommodate to your already busy schedule. Plus they they keep it 100
Grateful for this place and the people I met!
They really care if your willing to do the work for a better life
I went there for treatment and I learned the tool to stay clean and sober
Too many faker having to be there
Good treatment option for adults who are duel diagnosis. The staff is patient and very friendly. Although the water table is contaminated with arsenic and they use the water for showers. Arsenic is man made not natural… someone put the arsenic in the water table there. Arsenic is a rat poisen its also used as a blood thinner it not good in ANY amount don't let the lies fool you the facts are clear. The water you drink is ran through a filter. Other Than that it is a great treatment option for adults experiencing addiction issues.
