Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) in Alaska

Intensive outpatient programs, usually called IOP, provide structured substance use treatment on several days each week while you keep living at home in Anchorage, the Mat-Su Valley, Fairbanks or a smaller Alaska town. Listings on this page show which programs say they offer IOP, with their schedules, payment options and the groups they serve.

Listing details come from government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings and information supplied by the providers themselves. RehabSeekers.com doesn’t rank programs, so ask intake staff about hours, openings and costs before you plan around a listing.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions about IOP

Answered from what is listed here.

Where are IOP programs in Alaska?

Listings for intensive outpatient treatment in Alaska cluster in Anchorage, then Wasilla, Lakes, Fairbanks and Homer. Since this level of care means traveling to sessions on a regular schedule, start with the city closest to home. Anyone in Eagle River can also consider Anchorage, where these programs gather.

Rehab Centers in Anchoragehttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/alaska/anchorage-ak/
Do IOP programs in Alaska take DenaliCare?

Most of the intensive outpatient programs in Alaska record accepting DenaliCare, though a quick call to the admissions team to confirm before an intake is booked still matters.

Alaska Medicaid uses no managed care plans for these services, so there is no plan to pick. Behavioral health and substance use disorder care is paid fee-for-service under the state's 1115 Behavioral Health Reform waiver, to providers holding approval from the Department.

Rehab Centers in Alaska That Accept DenaliCare (Alaska Medicaid)https://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/alaska/denalicare-alaska-medicaid/
Are there IOP programs near a river in Alaska?

A median of about 7.3 miles separates listed intensive outpatient programs in Alaska from the nearest river, and nearly all of the intensive outpatient programs in Alaska have at least one river within 25 miles of their address.

The most-named rivers are the Matanuska River, the Eagle River and the Chena River. Distances are measured from the address of each listed program, not from a patient's home or a town center.

Rehab Centers Near Rivershttps://rehabseekers.com/attractions/rivers/

What is an intensive outpatient program for substance use in Alaska?

An intensive outpatient program in Alaska is a scheduled block of group and individual treatment for substance use disorders, held for several hours on several days each week, with no overnight stay. The placement standard of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, used in the Division of Behavioral Health’s provider standards, calls this level 2.1.

Adults attend 9 or more hours of structured services a week at this level, and adolescents 6 or more, often split into three sessions of about three hours each. Programs need authorization from the Alaska Department of Health to operate under the Integrated Behavioral Health Regulations in title 7 of the Alaska Administrative Code, chapters 70 and 135.

The state’s Medicaid rate chart lists intensive outpatient as its own service, and Alaska expanded Medicaid on September 1, 2015, with Denali KidCare covering children and pregnant women. Some programs sold under this label treat mental health conditions only, so ask whether a program serves addiction, mental health or both.
