About Access Behavioral Health Services – Nampa

Access Behavioral Health Services operates from 3307 Caldwell Boulevard in Nampa. The site sits in Canyon County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Caldwell. The practical catchment runs wider than the city limits, taking in people who travel in rather than finding care on their doorstep.

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Access Behavioral Health Services

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers.

Access Behavioral Health Services Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 3307 Caldwell Boulevard, Nampa, ID 83651, in Canyon County. The catchment reaches Caldwell. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

I saw Shawna khuene for 8 years and she discharged me from her practice because I have new medical health issues and she was not qualified to deal with me as a patient because of that? She did not have the courtesy to… share this with me herself or offer me a choice or a chance for explanation and instead had her assistant call and explain that to me. When I had questions, the assistant couldn’t answer them and told me she would call back with more info. Three days later I called to follow up and the assistant offered the explanation above. I am confused and shocked by this. The fact that that is okay as a company is insane to me, let alone the lack of courtesy for me as a patient. Reading the other negative reviews is making me realize I am not alone in this experience and I find that so disappointing. To the person who responds to these reviews, spare me.

I feel so frustrated after every phone call and appointment. Ive barely started and this is turning into a shih show. First I was confused about why I needed more than 1 intake appointment. The first went poorly- I was… told my professional diagnoses had to be wrong. The 2nd intake went better with a lot of great promises... meeting my case manager was interesting. I knew immediately I needed someone different and when I called no one wanted to actually hear my concerns. I was promised a call back and after waiting a week I called again. It definitely sounded like I was forgotten or someone had dropped the ball on me. I read the Google reviews and noticed that the Boise office may be better, but just by the phone call, Im left feeling more uneasy than I did before. I do not feel seen or heard in the one place my mental health should actually be taken seriously. Its like they dont realize theyre working with people who have disabilities... As for answering our concerns, Ive been on hold for over 10 minutes and have called twice. There is no information in their reply given to send a message or an email.

Clearly lacks any competence. It was pushed super hard on me to have a CHILD use online care services which obviously would not work for someone so young. Secondly no one can keep track of anything.I would not feel safe… getting any sort of care here, especially one that is supposed to provide medications.I would definitely seek care elsewhere.

Not recommended. Poor service. Ran out of medication with no way to get in touch with provider. Instead, I was connected to an assistant that would "relay" the information. Some times this would be a couple days. Not… organized with their communication. Multiple times received calls from different people telling me that I had an appointment

The provider, Joniruth Digaum, has demonstrated a level of recklessness and clinical irresponsibility that is profoundly concerning. Under her care, my wife was subjected to more than twenty medication changes within… the span of a single year. These actions resulted in my wife entering a prolonged state of severe, suicidal psychosis, which I believe was directly caused by Ms. Digaum’s medically negligent decisions. At no point did she allow for proper tapering of existing medications before initiating new prescriptions, a practice that is both unsafe and professionally unacceptable. Her approach to treatment posed a clear and direct risk to my wife’s health and, in my view, represents a serious danger to any patient under her care. A formal complaint has been filed with the Board of Nursing, and we are pursuing legal counsel as a matter of principle, with the intent of preventing others from experiencing the harm that we believe she has caused.

The office staff seems to be incompetent. Never checking voicemails so it seems because I never get a response from any voicemail I leave. They rarely answer the phones either. I had a pretty rude experience with a med… manager there which I will be switching back to my current mental health clinic for med management services again. I don't deal with unnecessary rudeness when I happen to be respectful and polite. 10 out of 10 would not recommend this place, unless you want to deal with incompetence.

This place is the absolute worst in working with clients. They schedule appts for you without making sure they work for you. They forget to complete necessary paperwork or items needed to continue with CBRS services and… then make every excuse in the book for not doing so. In addition they fail to work with their clients on scheduling and insist they are trying when in reality they do not care. Ashton a CBRS worker lies about what he says to clients and then makes it seem like they don’t know what they are talking about even though we have it in text. Katelyn is rude and very disrespectful when issues are brought to her attention and will accuse you of being hostile. To top it off they change the CBRS appts without consulting with the client and then refuse to make it work to the point where services are not being provided. I would stay away from this place and look elsewhere. At this point we are without services due to them refusing to work with the client.

A mental health chop shop. Was referred here by my GP for med mgmt last year. On 1st appointment, I asked for a reevaluation of my condition and was given the run around and prescribed my usual meds. Same with 2nd appt.… On 3rd appt, I again asked for a reevaluation and was given the run around again BUT this time was switched to a different medication which triggered a month long depressive episode while building up new med. Now today I realized I was taking my last pill and wondered why my pharmacy hasn't filled my script. I had no refills available so I called Access Behavioral at 9am to re-up and left message because no one answered. At 3pm they finally returned my call to say I need another appointment to re-up my current med. This is normal every 6 months, but in this case, it's only been 3 months. So I made the appt and asked for a partial refill to get me thru. Was told I'd be texted. It's now 515pm and they're closed. No text. No meds. Re-up appointment made 3 months early in a transparent attempt to pad clinic revenue. After reading the other reviews here, I think it's time I lodge a complaint with the medical board for their incredibly substandard practices.

Honestly this place is absolutely horrible Jessica Ruzo however her name is spelled was treating me like a criminal she shut me down for a therapy apt I had scheduled with her when I didn't feel safe giving her my… address because how aggressive she was coming off which she already had on file by the way they legally have to have it? But hung up on me laughing, unbelievable.

Chris Gawka and Shawna Kuehne are highly unethical and unprofessional nurse providers, seriously, Chris Gawka had toe audacity to waste my previous time and the outcome of my one meeting with this clown was for him to… tell me to to go to another clinic for med management, what a joke. Cannot emphasize this enough, avoid these two providers, or don’t. It’s a your own risk. I only ever leave reviews when I feel like it’s a social responsibility and a public service, don’t take my review lightly. Seriously, save yourself the unnecessary stress.

Do not go to this clinic the staff are incredibly rude and have no idea how insurance works. My boyfriend was referred to this clinic to get established, he was called today by a woman to get him set up for an… appointment and right out of the gate we had issues. My SO expressed his preference for a female councilor and after a big sigh she became annoyed and told him that she was pretty sure they couldn't accommodate because he is "on medicaid" the kicker... he's not on medicaid and hasn't been for a while. So we called back were put in touch with a man who answered the phone with "hello" and nothing else, got annoyed when my SO asked if this was the referral department. After explaining the situation the man told him his medicaid is still active, we advised we don't want to use it (because at this point with our current income that would be illegal, and he had 2 other insurances through both of our jobs) and the man argued with us, asking us why and telling us we were wrong. We ended up expressing our frustration with the whole process and hung up. These ratings are 100% accurate and the person who keeps responding is clearly not fixing the situation at their clinic. You are a mental health clinic and should be ashamed for the way you treat patients. If dealing with people is such an inconvenience find a new job.

TLDR: They don't show up to appointments, rarely call you back, often don't answer their phone, then drop you as a client without notification. I don't often leave reviews but this needs to be said. I now believe the… previous ones I had read. I had an appointment end of last month with my practitioner (over telehealth) and she never showed up. So I immediately called to see what was up, no answer (unfortunately that's the usual) so I left a VM. Never received a response. Over the next few weeks I left two more VMs. A couple of days ago I realized I was almost out of my med and had no refills so I left a VM with them and again no answer. I finally left a VM at the main desk and my practitioners desk and missed a call the next day. I received a VM saying my practitioner had dropped me. I was never informed of this. They said they could set me up with a different one so I wouldn't run out but I have no desire to work with them after the blatant disregard for ethics. Do not go here.

Only rating 1 star to leave a review. Yes. I WAS LATE. But I called, I called, I called. I live in a trailer with poor internet and do not drive. Making appointments is very hard. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT AFTER MISSED… APPOINTMENTS THEY WILL BEGIN THE PROCESS TO KICK YOU OUT OF THEIR PROGRAM. For almost 2 years I sat with a guy named Dr Kimsey that only taught me about the orange juice he added to his Thanksgiving ham. He never listened or helped in any way, then I learned he was retiring (probably because he was tired of giving out his family recipes) and I was being switched to a woman named Shauna. She was cool, but when I moved and they implemented video calls- she didn't care about my faulty internet, different methods, or anything else, all she cared about was her time. Not the care of her patients. I was removed from her "care" for lack of better words and sent to a woman named Lindsay, after ONE "missed" appointment, I was 15/20 minutes late, I have been told to find my medication and help elsewhere. Dawn was very rude and uppity with me, and didn't understand my situation at all other than the fact that I was right- if I showed up 15 minutes late to the doctors office, they would still see me. However she still held me accountable for my INTERNET PROVIDER that I use inside an RV camper and kicked me. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU NEED REAL HELP. These people are not understanding, they are condescending and sometimes very rude. Which is why I had to freak out the way I did to get the answers I was searching for FINALLY. Without completely flipping out on them, you get no where. They just pass you off until you're forgotten about. Do yourself a favor, find REAL help.

Not all of the staff has been bad to work with here. Vanessa Johnson is an amazing counselor. If you do need counseling I highly recommend her. Access behaviorial health as a whole though. Is not very favorable. Staff… in the past have been rude and very unkind. They have even moved and changed my appointments without telling me. Cancelling several in a row and never telling me. So I would take transportation all the way into town only to be told they had cancelled my appointment. They did this with my first counselor at their office. So many times that I broke down in their office from embarrassment and fatigue from the mental and emotional anguish from not seeing my counselor for weeks. They did not apologize. My counselor did, but the staff did not care. They never had the person who cancelled my appointments apologize to me. And it was multiple appointments in a row! I've fallen on hard times with having had Covid myself and a loved one that became very ill with COVID-19 and had to move in with me. I've tried to be very honest and open about my short term memory issues. And my high stress levels. My NP decided to cancel on me after two missed appointments, after years of being her patient. They do not care. I Have medical PTSD and it's very hard for me to trust doctors. This NP also gave me medications that I should not have had due to my heart condition. Yet I still attempted to trust them. After being "let go" from her care, I will not be seeking anything from this office again. The disregard and disrespect towards their patients is outrageous. It's basically ok for them to cancel late and no show on you, or cancel your appointment without telling you, but you can't miss two appointments without being passed to a different NP. This behavior is highly ableist. It's ok for them to cancel on us and and mess up our appointments, but we aren't allowed to miss any appointments due to Brain fog, high stress and anxiety ? This is literally what you treat your patients for! SMH I'm going to find a better option for my healthcare plan. If you have high anxiety and brain fog, this clinic will not take any of your medical issues into consideration. They will just pass you along.

I was a patient seen by Sarah Truid she at first refused to treat my anxiety with the right medication to help with pseudoseizures Because of an aunt she had that abused it so it worried her and she blamed my birth… mothers history for it as well and took me off all of my medication instead which caused me to have multiple seizures and I ended up hospitalized for it which in return ended up being more of a liability than just working with me and my other team of doctors. Similar situation when she treated my child she refused to work with his pediatrician, proceeded to mock him and told me to have him take care of my sons medications while mom shaming me for being disappointed In her taking him off of all his meds right before schools starts all because I wouldn’t go get extra tests done that costed extra money I don’t have and his pediatrician disagreed with her that those extra tests needed done. So with her refusal to work with other doctors and health care professionals, her refusal to listen, or even care was just mind blowing. I do not think someone like her should be treating patients medically If she personalizes everyone’s specific situation to her personal families abuse history isn’t professional and personally for someone with a seizure diagnosis for her to take me off of meds I should’ve been tapered off of was a huge mistake on her part and could cause legal issues for this business!!!

I have been seeking help for quite a long while and was able to finally get in to see someone at Access Behavioral health around February area. I still have not had many appointments but, I have been very pleased with… the pleasantness of staff the few times I have gone into the office. Since the quarantine has started we have had to do tele-health sessions which, has been an adjustment. The kinds of hoops this place has jumped through during quarantine has been astounding, they have been helping me out so much. I personally recommend Ray and Sarah (counselor and med manager). I intend to give the last star when the clinic has proven itself over time and I fully expect I will be doing so given a couple months or less.
