Access Ohio – Dayton Detox and Rehab Services

What Access Ohio – Dayton offers, on record, is residential treatment and sober living. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

Mental health and substance use are handled together rather than in sequence. Housing support is listed for the months following a more intensive stage. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Place is horrible. Would not recommend they hire nurses with restrictions on their license they drug people up for no reason with shots the place is really dirty and unprofessional. The nurses lie to the patients about… their medication’s to get them to take other things the way they treat the clients are very disrespectful and rude. They are very unprofessional they laid off all of the employees and did not tell anyone they knew they were going to lay off everybody on the psych side and everyone knew about it and didn’t tell no one who work on the psych side so they waited for people to come in for their shifts to ask them for their keys, which is very unprofessional, and an inconvenience with people in their lives. Also, the doctor Dr. Johnson he looks at everyone’s insurance before he tries to help them. A lot of the patients feel like they don’t even get their help there. if you really look up and do your research on this place, it’s not safe I wouldn’t trust these people to give me allergy medication.

This place is a joke. The employees are rude and aren't there for the right reasons. The program is horrible, the don't give you the tools you need to succeed. This place has 5 day detox then 35 days residential. I… don't understand how people graduate then are back 3- 7 days later, it's a revolving door. The food is terrible. The employees come to work high with no consequences!!!! The clients get high with no consequences!!!! I've never seen anything like it. The place is nasty! Dirty! The staff ( intake) are stuck up and don't care about the clients. I wouldn't take a shower barefoot that's for sure! The food is terrible. There are better places to take your loved ones ...

They let patients cheek their medications and take them back to their room. Most of the employees have absolutely no respect for patients as individuals. They violate HIPAA to gossip about other patients to satisfy… their personal need for dramatics. It’s safe to say there is no room for personal growth in recovery, as that is not their main focal point or priority.

I was at this location for 2 weeks the RA and councilors are amazing however my clothes from when I was in intake are gone stolen from staff they where supposed to have been locked up and the lady that runs the facility… has NO recovery or class to herself no recommendations from me

I enjoyed my stay here alot! the doctors and nurses were all so empathetic snd kind. I loved the bingo nights and self care days. A star gets knocked off for the way other patients treated me and not much was done about… it. Kinda wish there was more done about the patients who kept fighting with the staff member. it got to a point where my stay involved a housekeeper walking out and quitting because the patients were so rude to her and they didnt really do much abt it. Other then that It was okay!

I can see why it’s only rated 3 stars I tried to get ahold of my mother on thanksgiving and they tell me that people arnt aloud to call in to the patients but they have to call us so then I asked them if they could… leave her a msg for me to get ahold of me and they said they don’t have those records. Seems to be a not very well managed place and then I asked the manager how that role came about and she said she doesn’t know she just follows them. I definitely wouldn’t recommend taking any loved ones here.

Sadly my mentally disabled brother Steven passed away due to improper medical care. He was abused at the time as well. I found bruises on his body and immediately snapped pictures. Because of that I unknowingly violated… HIPPA policy so the hospital banned me from coming back. No more than 4 days later, Steven was rushed from access to MVH due to a speedy heart rate. Steven was given bad medicine called Clozaril and his heart exploded in his chest. Doctor Charles Mishja was the doctor to oversee him during his time there and ultimately the attorney general did their own investigation and found him guilty. The doctor was suspended but it sounds like not much has changed in regards to the culture and standard of care patients recieve. I miss my brother terribly and I will never be the same again. This place needs shut down.

My friend went to here to get help with her depression. The staff was very hateful and sat on their butts half of the time. She ended up passing away. They weren't doing the required 15 min checks nor did they take… responsibility what happened

In went there its an older hospital not the nicest to the eye most staff is carding understanding food is good like I said older building not very nice as far as appearance but it is a good program with good people

Hospital wasn't bad but the head of the residential program needs to get off of her high horse. She don't care nothing about no one but herself she's rude to patients and staff and they can't even keep enough staff… there they were having counselors that didn't even have their credentials work there

★☆☆☆☆

They've helped me with my meds, but almost every person minus one nurse, have been incredibly rude and condescending to me. The lady that schedules appointments at the front desk is rude every single time I go. The… staff has a generally bad attitude. You would think they'd be nicer since they work with people with mental health issues.

Access Hospital is the last place I would take anyone. My grandson was there, He was treated very poorly. He got sick was unable to unrinate for 2 days. I had to pick him up and take him to the E.R. These people don't… care about you! they think they are one step above you. Good to anyone who decides to go in there!
