APAIT – Los Angeles Reviews and Ratings
Reviews are where patients and families describe APAIT in their own terms: the welcome at admission, the counseling, the planning for life after treatment.
Reading them is a sensible step before calling the Los Angeles facility. Writing one, if you have been treated there, helps the families who come next.
They sent a front-desk worker into the bathroom after me after I publicly complained about them.
Good therapy, I've gained some education
Arriving to Los Angeles seven months ago, with only a duffel bag. I was greeted at APAIT and quickly given assistance with housing to stay off the streets. I then learned about programs that they offered and took… advantage of those. And I could probably say that they assisted me on getting my Life back on track.
Sometimes life throws us curveballs, making us feel like we can't move forward. However, life itself opens doors and places what many of us call "angels" in our path. For me, Robert Alvarez was a turning point, helping… me begin a new journey and adapt to the reality I faced. My life partner at the time and I believed in him and allowed ourselves to be helped. Regardless of what others think of any organization, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Apait, but especially to my dear friend Robert, who is a beacon of empathy and love for others within that organization. I hope that everyone who has been helped in any way, just as we sought help, will also be grateful. Gratitude is a feeling and a value we must put into practice. Thank you for everything. Your dear client and friend, Ariel (Alex).
They'll treat you like a Fly at dinner time if you don't fit their mold.
I was receiving services here since 2020-2025. The therapist dropped all my services here in the beginning of 2025 saying the billing is not going through with Medi-Cal, because Medi-Cal is my secondary insurance. She… told me to resolve it. So I found another organization, and now four months later the therapist called and said they were able to figure it out and asked if I want services again if I don’t have a therapist still. I declined and was told that she will send me a disenrollment letter via email just so that we are “on the same page and we are ok”. It’s ridiculous and I don’t know what is going on inside the organization but I will avoid them in the future.
APAIT is not a very good organization when it comes to taking care of the residents safety at Casa de Zuma, a housing facility for transgender MTF individuals who are experiencing homelessness. When I was a resident… there, there a was a woman by the name Lakanda Horn, who was the director of the facility from HOPICS, who was very rude, hateful, and hostile towards myself and many of the residence. I complained to APAIT seeing how they jointly run the facility alongside HOPICS and SSG, but I was laughed at and ignored. APAIT seems to care more about the 1% instead of those who they care for.
This organization is DISCRIMINATING AGAINST African American clients that fit the criteria for services...I can't get past the male receptionist Jose... every time I call or go down there he either says there's no… appointment available...or schedule me an appointment then when I call to confirm that appointment he Jose has given me...he charges it.. I WONDER HOW MANY AFRICAN AMERICANS HAS THIS ORGANIZATION HELPED THEY ARE FUNDED BY GOVERNMENT FUNDS THATZZA MEANT FOR A SPECIAL CLASS OF PEOPLE THAT QUALIFY..YET THEY'VE SERVED ON HISPANICS... THEY NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED...I AM FINDING OUT HOW THAT CAN BE DONE... And NOW I'M BEING STAWED BY THESE PEOPLE AND VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA...
false form of resource. Depicted itself as an organized form of housing stability and support then ultimately disturbed my peace and left me abandoned. Kicked a houseless artist out on the street in the middle of a… storm for no reason. Threatened me with police and lied in my face causing me unecessary confusion, depression, anxiety, overall manipulation, and power abuse.
Very friendly amazing place full of oppertuities. Friendly faces . and highly knowledgeable of public health . a must visit for everyone.
