Bastrop Behavioral Health Clinic – Bastrop

This is going to be a long story, but some explaination is needed before hand. I was living with my (now ex) boyfriends mom and him at a low point in my life. His mom was very manipulative and abusive—she talked very… weirdly about her son (iykwm)—and had threatened to hit me on multiple occasions weaponizing my mental illness against me. I came here because I was in a very dark place with no escape as my family who didn't understand mental health had deemed me crazy and wanted nothing to do with me due to self harm issues. My therapist here was perceptive enough to realize that my mother was very manipulative and would weaponize my mental health against me, as she would always call up here trying to get information about me from my therapist. One day my boyfriend's mom threatened to beat me badly if I didn't get out of her sight causing me to walk down a road in the middle of the night to try and find safety at a friends house. My mother called my therapist telling my therapist except she said that I had raised my voice back at my boyfriends mother (which I did because I was crying because she was getting in my face pushing me back threatening to beat me). My therapist then proceeded to call me and tell me what my mother said trying to frame me as a perputrator. I explained the situation the way it had actually happened to my therapist only for her to say I am a liar. That my mother (who btw actually did hit me my entire childhood) was the one telling the truth (despite previously saying my grandma was manipulative) which I told my therapist how would she know she wasn't even there. My therapist then proceeded to literally call me insane to which I got upset because that's not professional to say (why are you even so involved anyways) I told her I will just find another therapist to which she said "Good luck, no one is going to want to see a sociopath for a patient". I told her "I pay you to help me not call me and ridicule me on something you know nothing about. I can get a new therapist." Not only this, but the therapist was also widely unprofessional trying to convince me that homosexual people are just a product of mental illness. At the time I was young and going through a lot so I never reported the therapist, nor do I remember her name or if she still even works there. I just want to share my story because I want any people who have been abused, or are possibly homosexual to know that this place—especially if you are actively going through abuse, or are homosexual—is not a safe place for you. They obviously hire anyone.
