When reading, give most weight to concrete detail, such as how quickly an appointment was offered or how family members were kept informed.
This place was horrific. Staff are okay but they all stood by as somone screamed and acted like a child throwing tantrums and trash everywhere. She was delusional 24/7, to the point they drugged her with something that… made her incredibly weak and stumbling. It feels like a prison for a crime you did not commit.
Really a 0 star
The redheaded "therapist" with glasses is absolutely incompetent. I was sad I got stuck with her instead of the one I had during my first stay. She's very rude, judgemental toward patients, and dismissive. Other staff… and Dr. Tankersley were okay
Had a good experience. But the techs were rude and lazy. Very short staffed!
cEI approved center ..
First hand knowledge that a patient (extended family member) was physically battered by another patient. The staff did nothing. Didn't call the police to report the CRIME; did not remove the suspect and left the two of… them in the same pod, ignoring the fact that the suspect is known for violent outbursts. What happened is not "just an unfortunate incident", it is criminal. Two crimes occurred. First the battery of a patient by another patient. Second, the staff's failure to respond appropriately kept that patient in a dangerous situation, FAILING TO PROTECT THE PATIENT FROM FURTHER HARM. Their refusal to report the criminal incident (they are REQUIRED to report it to the proper authorities) and further refusal to protect the victim following the battery is criminal as well. If nothing else, removing the aggressor from the pod would have shown they actually care for their patients' safety. There was a lot more that happened, like the lead councilor violating HIPPA, telling everyone in a group setting about the patient's confidential medical history and traumatic life events.. and so much more. I worked as a police officer for years and have never seen this level of incompetence and actual criminal behavior by a mental health hospital. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO CEDAR RIDGE!!
Cedar Ridge has a very polite, helpful, encouraging staff. They are very well rounded with mental health needs and concerns and they don't make you feel like you're being detained. I feel like they hear my opinions and… concerns on my personal health and they take what I say seriously and apply it. They also have multiple group therapies in patient and out that, even if you aren't mentally ill, make you want to participate. Their hygiene, medication, and rooms are open and homey so you don't feel trapped until discharge. I would recommend them to anyone that has any mental health concerns, or anyone who is any kind of life crisis.
Has room for lots of improvement if staff is willing and able.
Impossible to reach by phone, slamming doors happened constantly, understaffed, they let patients wander into rooms when we’re supposed to be sleeping, and a lot of the older techs act generally like they don’t care
The team took excellent care and careful attention to each step of the recovery process for my family member.
The food was good staff was amazing. Thank you
I am currently enrolled in the Partial Hospitalization Program at Cedar Ridge and feel compelled to share both an exceptional positive and a deeply concerning experience. First and foremost, I want to highlight Emillia,… who leads the PHP group. As a licensed clinician myself receiving care, I do not use this praise lightly. Emillia is phenomenal. Her boundaries are impeccable. Her clinical judgment is sound. Her modality is intentional and effective, not surface-level or mediocre. She facilitates group with confidence, structure, and emotional attunement. She has made a tangible difference in my life, and in my spouse’s life as well, as he has also participated in the program. That speaks volumes about her ability to create real therapeutic impact. She models professionalism, compassion, and accountability in a way that should be the standard. Unfortunately, the leadership decisions surrounding this program have significantly undermined the quality of care. Due to inpatient understaffing, Emillia was pulled from PHP for an entire week. For a population that includes individuals struggling with suicidality, severe depression, and trauma, disrupting continuity of care is not a small issue. Rapport and therapeutic alliance are foundational in this level of treatment. Removing a trusted therapist mid-treatment communicates that PHP is secondary or expendable. That week was destabilizing for many of us. When Emillia was later out sick, a replacement therapist was assigned whose approach was, frankly, harmful. He openly shared that he had failed out of his master’s program. His interventions were defensive and reactive. When group members offered feedback on a video he presented, he took it personally rather than using it as clinical data. He appeared triggered by female group members and responded in ways that felt dismissive and confrontational. I nearly withdrew from the program during that week. As clinicians know, therapeutic space requires regulation, neutrality, and the ability to tolerate feedback. That was not present. I emailed the CEO regarding the disruption in care and received no response. I completed a formal grievance form, which was also not acknowledged. That lack of follow-through reinforced the perception that PHP concerns are not prioritized at the leadership level. Cedar Ridge is fortunate to have a clinician like Emillia. The PHP program has the potential to be truly transformative when led by someone of her caliber. However, leadership decisions regarding staffing and continuity of care significantly impact patient safety and trust. For individuals seeking PHP services, I would strongly recommend the program when Emillia is leading it. My hope is that leadership recognizes the importance of continuity, accountability, and respect for the level of care PHP clients require.
The team in the all women’s unit is absolutely amazing. Especially Nurse Katie. Big shout to her and a big shout out to Gloria as well. I recommend coming here if you are seeking any kind of mental health issue you are… having. I feel like a totally different person now. I’m genuinely glad I went here for help.
Some staff were amazing however there’s no real treatment just meds questions and color all day. Staff needs retraininh
I respected some of the staff and I have positive things to say about Dr. Tankersley. However, I am unable to provide an overall favorable review for this facility.
Just allow paitents to harass people, smh.
What a joke
Worst place to send your kids , stuff was rude and none helpful
I was there recently for a week and it was like being in prison. There were good staff who cared about the patients and then there were staff who didn’t care at all. I asked for a clean pair of underwear from the… clothes my family brought me multiple times and never got them. I didn’t receive anything my family brought for me. I’ve never been to prison but this place is basically a prison.
