About Esperanza Brighton Park – Chicago

Esperanza Brighton Park is located at 4700 South California Avenue in Chicago, within 4.1 miles of Forest View and Stickney. The practical catchment runs to roughly 5 miles, covering Forest View, Stickney, Cicero and Bedford Park. Chicago sits in Cook County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

The facility runs intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Buprenorphine, methadone or naltrexone can be prescribed alongside therapy. Substance use and mental health are treated together rather than in sequence. Telehealth appointments are available, which matters where the drive is long. Dedicated support for veterans is available. Federal registration is held through SAMHSA and licensing through the Illinois Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery.

Esperanza Brighton Park – Chicago Detox and Rehab Services

Services at Esperanza Brighton Park – Chicago run to intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Whether medication is available is worth confirming at the outset. Ask what the assessment recommends before comparing anything else.

Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use, which is the approach the evidence supports. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. Ask what happens if the recommended level of care is not available immediately. Anyone can ask what a typical week looks like before starting.

Monica is THE BEST OBGYN at Esperanza. I’ve been here for 2 pregnancies and she has made me feel heard and not ashamed. She is truly an amazing doctor here.

I always be on wait for more than a hour. NO ONE ever picks up, and their personal be RUDE, they act like they didn’t apply for the job they have. The reason why I don’t change my provider was because my insurance is… always giving me a hard time to can change it so i’m stuck with this clinic. If you can pick don’t pick this clinic.

I took my daughter in for high fevers& blisters in her mouth 3weeks ago. Was told it was hand foot and mouth disease. To give Tylenol, ibuprofen and it would go away on its own..My daughter had fevers for 6days .I… called and they told me they didn't have anything available.I then noticed it getting worse her gums started bleeding I took her to urgent care. Where they told me it was the herpes simplex virus and she needed antibiotics by then her gums were infected. For some reason her pediatrician called that same day to check on her. 6 days later?! They never called me before. So I'm assuming she realized her mistake. The day of her appointment she barely checked her and was rushing. I noticed it's always like that. I called today to see if she needs a referral to dentist or further treatment and was told no providers are available untill October. Really!!!I think I will be going elsewhere from now on.

I went in today to get a prenatal checkup, and the doctor Charlene Sanders had a very awful way of talking with me, very sarcastic tone, and did not give me no vitamin list or any sort of list she also said I had to do… my own research and didn’t want to help. Very ugly service.

I'm giving this place 3 stars only because they've done a good job when I've brought my son in for his appointments. I came in on June 20, 2026 because my tonsils have been swelling up for the past 2 days and because I… had a fever last night. Anyways, I decided to walk in because my PCP is at this location. I'm not going to say I was denied service but yes and no because the receptionist told me I could book an appointment around July the 20th? Are you kidding me?! My tonsils are swelling up right now! My son's PCP told us if we ever had to come in because my son had a fever, etc., etc., that any other doctor Doctor could see him. That made me believe I could also come in and be seen by a Doctor.

I love the service they provide; the receptionists and doctors are excellent. They always treat me very well. For new appointments, there aren't any immediate dates available, but later they'll schedule you for the… dates you need, as soon as possible. I've had weekly appointments.

I spoke to Roberta and she was not helpful at all. I have never had an issue. Everyone else is so helpful. So just beware. And ask to transfer to someone else.

My experience with this clinic during my pregnancy and childbirth was deeply disappointing and emotionally difficult. For months I expressed my concerns and regularly attended my prenatal checkups, but my gestational… diabetes was diagnosed too late, just a week before delivery. As a result, I ended up in a complicated cesarean section, suffered severe bleeding and lost the opportunity to have the natural birth I wanted. In addition to the physical impact, there was also a significant emotional impact: I could not see my baby during his first hours of life and the complications affected my ability to breastfeed him. After formally presenting my case, the clinic acknowledged having made internal changes as a result of the review. However, after months of waiting and multiple communications, I never received a concrete response or an adequate resolution regarding the damage suffered. I appreciate the staff who treated me with empathy, but I consider it important that future patients know that good medical care also implies prevention, timely follow-up and responsibility when avoidable situations occur.

This clinic has no problem canceling last-minute appointments. You literally book an appointment and they call you an hour before to tell you they can't see you due to technical issues. You ask for an explanation and… they come up with nonsense. I know these things happen, but this is the third time they've done this to me, and it's very unfair!

Hadn’t really complained about my experience as an Esperanza patient.. but last week I felt very distraught and disappointed about how my visit went. Starting with the weird attitude we got from the front desk person… (down stairs red building) to my actual talk with the Dr. Sara Muralles. Had to wait over 30mins in the room for her, which I don’t mind. But the time with her was short and didn’t felt like nothing special just the usual routine questions, since I just needed lab work. Now I’m being charged for all these things that weren’t even properly done nor asked. To top it off the person drawing blood damage my arm, I could tell he didn’t poke a vein, and kept wiggling the needle once inside which was very painful. When he asked if hurt and I said yes, I looked up at them and they had this eery smile that made me uncomfortable. Almost as if he was enjoying causing pain. I didn’t get their name but also hadn’t seen them there before. A week later and I still have discomfort in my right arm and it felt like I was poke more than once. None of the people i had do my lab work before this day has cause such stress nor bruising. Doing my day to day task has been very unpleasant this week… First picture is from when I got home, 2nd is 3 days later and last one is from this morning. Looks way worse in person. I am very upset with this visit, and I really hope something is done about this person working there, I can tell the people before and after me were also unsettled by him.

My niece has been a patient of Esperanza’s for over 12 years and never had complaints (except for the psychiatrist and psychologist she had years ago) Well last week she went to get lab work, and whoever was working… there on Thursday 04/09/2026 around 2-5pm. The dark tall guy, who drew the blood really mess up her arm, first 2 days couldn’t move it much without feeling discomfort. 5 days later her arm is still bruised up. For the way she described the experience it’s almost as if this person enjoys inflicting pain into the patients. Trying to convince her to file a complaint to the IDPH for malpractice. According to her, the child before her was screaming bloody murder and heard his grandma complained about how the same guy had really bruised up the poor boys arm, poking him multiple times. This is a person that has been working there for about 8 months! disgusting practice and terrible patient care.

It's a terrible experience every time I come to this clinic. They tell you to arrive 10 minutes early, but you still end up waiting 30 minutes or more to be seen. They have absolutely no respect for patients' time. I… have a nearly two-year-old daughter, and after such a long wait, it's understandable that she gets impatient. It's extremely stressful to come here with children, as the wait is excessive and the place is always overcrowded, with no consideration for families with young children. Something else I didn't like is that they mix adults and children in the same waiting room. They don't consider that, in addition to the long wait, the children might start crying or getting restless, which ends up bothering the adults as well. The clinic is large enough to have separate areas, but they don't. To top it all off, the reception staff at check-in are usually very rude, with faces and mannerisms as if we were bothering them or owed them something, when we're just there following their instructions. They definitely need better organization, better time management, adequate facilities, and better patient care. I don't recommend this clinic, especially if you're coming with children.
