this place was so horrible. i broke my back. therapist tommy is a scumbag and didnt help me with anything. a girl stalked me from there after i got out and pulled a knife on me and they tried to keep me there longer for… my insurance money, not ethical staff only good staff was josh & baylin. cassandra was horrible to all the kids, very controlling, only interested in the money. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. i tried getting the best out of it but all they taught me was that you have to kiss peoples boots and worship the ground therapists walk on just to survive it there. got profiled for my appearance. this place is a living hell.

This place was a huge step in my life. I am turning 18 next week and I have to give all my thank to imperial. I went to imperial twice a year apart. I felt comfortable going back. I was pushed to become a better person… and really value my life. The staff are amazing I was able to form one on one connections. Its not an easy place to be but it made my life so much easier. Ive been put for a year and a half now and I have managed to stay out of all treatment and its all thanks to Rebecca and Michelle who where my therapists. Cassandra has this tough love she only cares and wants the best. They are a flexible inviting environment. Debra are teacher was amazing I graduated in May all thanks to her! The groups are amazing and overall I loved this place and I know of a kid goes here they will have some hate and hard times of course not everything is perfect but its ment to push us and eventually you will be greatful for the rest of your life! 10/10🩷

I went to this place in 2023-2024 so I am an adult now. Please please please do not send your children here. I endured physical and mental abuse at Imperial House and it was disgusting to witness it happen to other kids… as well. They do not have enough staff to properly care for the patients which caused multiple close suicide attempts and drug use. One staff member used excessive force leaving bruises on a girl. Please send your children elsewhere. I know Newport Academy in California is MUCH more humane, safe, and helpful. Imperial was a traumatic experience, please consider this as this is someone who WENT TO IT.

i was a patient here at imperial for about 2 months, i left in october 2025. at first i was angry and mad about coming, and for the first few days i stayed to myself. after awhile, i settled in and actually enjoyed… being there. some staff were great, especially charlie, alyssa, and jess. (p.s alyssa if ur seeing this i miss you!!) the girls could be mean at times, but i had a group i hung out with and i miss them dearly. they were so sweet!! it was fun there at times and the food was amazing, shout out to wayne! the only thing i have to complain about it some of the staff.. they were really rude, and definitely picked favorites.. anyway, my stay at imperial was definitely great, and it really did help me.

I was a child under care here Ay imperial home of healing for about two-three months. My first week being there I watched three girls attempt suicide. They all had groups they were automatically set in by their status,… if you weren’t liked by the main group of ‘popular girls’ then you were automatically targeted by all of them. At the time I was there and first entered I was not liked by that groups leader and they all ended up wanting to hang up on me. One of them was attempting to hurt me by dropping a lamp on my head from the upstairs (since she was upstairs and I was downstairs). One of the staff members (Robby, bless his heart he’s amazing) warned the other staff to keep me out of the way of the upstairs so she didnt thrown down a lamp at my head. When she didn’t get to do that she flipped me off and said that she was going to jump because of me even though I had literally just gotten there and hadn’t done anything wrong, I had only talked to her maybe twice on my own. The staff knew damn well what was happening and none did anything, even when I voiced my concerns they pushed it off and said I didn’t need to worry and that they had it under control. After maybe two-three weeks one of the other girls there ended up developing feelings for me. She tried to force herself on me multiple times and I told the staff members and my therapist, they had a talk with that girl and she twisted it saying I had forced myself on her and they ended up believing her and shoved me off. And that harassment continued throughout my entire experience there at this house. Not only that but the staff had favorites. If they didn’t like you then you didn’t serve as a bigger priority even though all of us should be an equal priority. On top of that when it came to phone calls they were limited. I barely ever got to speak to my mom, the staff that was supposed to tell my mom what was happening refused to do so and even accused me of grooming the new girls coming into the house. I can tell you first hand I was not grooming any of them. I’ve been groomed myself and would NEVER do that to anyone. Therapy sessions weren’t too bad. Sometimes I felt pressured into things but I went along with it. There are actual good staff members there (Cass, Robby, Cami, Nick, Emily, Jess). When the staff didn’t like you they tended to stay away from you. One of the staff members there did exactly that to me and when I needed a staff member due to me having a panic attack he didn’t do anything to help and brushed it off. Whenever we needed to shower they would have us keep the doors open (especially if you were on a 1:1) you didn’t get privacy. I also myself had to calm down two girls and comfort them because one of the other girls had ran out the front door and had to be dragged forcibly back in by three staff members, it scared the hell out of my two friends there and they couldn’t stop crying. The staff was mostly preoccupied during that time. The only staff member that was present at that time (thankfully a actually good staff member) was Robby. The level of security seems very high but it’s not. They don’t pay attention to any of it, I had a friend who snuck in five blades and gave them out to all of our group causing me to go back into self harm again due to how much stress I had going on. One of the girls there OD’d and was rushed to the hospital before she actually died. Two girls attempted to jump from the upstairs railing, and two others attempted with the blades. There were good parts about this place, like the coping stuff they talked to us about. Outside of that I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place for your kids. It’s been awhile since I was there and hopefully now things have changed especially since Jess took over (since she took over right before I was taken out of imperial). I know very well that Jess is a good person, she was one of the only staff members I was able to trust and I’m glad that she’s running the place now.

I stayed at imperial for about 5 months. It was an insane journey and i hated it at first and was very angry. But i am so glad i went. I’ve learned so many new skills that i use day to day and my depression has gone… down a bunch. Some staff drove me nuts but i adored a lot of them (Tora, Mitch, Ellie, Eve, Kenzie, Cass, Maria, etc.) i also loved my Therapist Ewwa :3 she was awesome. And the other Therapists are super sweet. The kids there are a 50/50 like any place.. but a lot of them were super sweet and i had good friends. Imperial is definitely one of the better residential’s and really helped me. Honestly it saved my life. So thank you to everyone at Imperial for helping me grow as a person. I miss you all dearly ! ^^

We can't thank Imperial Healing House enough for the new skills and help given to our child. Our child has changed for the better. The Imperial team put our worries as parents at ease and helped us navigate through the… insurance hoops. We had tried other treatments that didn't stick in the real world. The skills learned through the therapy and help at Imperial has been implemented . Thank you for bring our child out of the dark despair and back into our lives.

It has been 5 months since I graduated from Imperial Healing Estate and I have to say that it was such an incredible experience. I’d been struggling with my mental health since I was 15 and finally at 17 I was placed… into this Residential. The staff are incredible. They make sure to listen to you, take and give constructive criticism, explain decisions well, and so much more. Tora and Jess definitely had a huge impact on me and have helped me become so much more vulnerable with myself and others. Of course, you’ll have disagreements with certain staff, you won’t blend with certain personalities, etc., but if you take the time to see different point of views and to communicate, you’ll see how much everyone cares about you there. Of course, not everything was sunshine and rainbows, I jump and get scared when I hear heavy bangs because a girl slammed her head multiple times into the floor while I was there. It’s things like that that you have to accept as something you’ll see due to it being filled with sixteen, mentally ill girls who are struggling with their own situations. But, those same girls created such a positive impact on me and I wouldn’t trade the things I learned from those girls for anything. I’ve seen a couple girls leave and just knew that they weren’t ready for it. My biggest advice is to accept your situation and work with it. If you do not go in with an open mind, you will not be able to help yourself as much as you could. Imperial is an amazing, caring, and challenging residential to attend and I recommend it 100%. - trina, past student.

We found this residential option after failing to find an option in the State we live in, our journey up until admitting our teen daughter into Imperial Healing House had been a parent's worst nightmare. After so much… pain, heartache, tears and sleepless nights while our daughter moved from hospital to hospital without any progress we finally found hope at Imperial Healing House. The level of care they offer, the program protocol, the friendly warm staff, amazing quality of food, the cozy warm comforts of home, the communication and responsiveness, the cleanliness and organization, the activities, the therapy, the academics, the focus on family, the peer support is exactly what we need. This place so far has exceeded our expectations and has given us hope and my daughter a future. I can't say more positive words, I'm just so grateful and thankful this place exists.

It’s so funny to see the staff write 5 star reviews and the patients/parents write poor reviews. I don’t know how they work now. But I was here October 2021 - June 2022. 8 months of trash. There was so much favoritism… happening. That really is their biggest issue. Thankfully I can say I had a good “connection” with most of the staff. Probably because I was older than most of the girls and not rude. Even though I personally never really had issues with staff, I saw the way they would treat other girls. Bro this one staff member ( no longer works there, love him he’s so sweet and has a good heart ) literally told a girl “you’re gonna die on this hill” don’t remember the argument so well but like … he wasn’t wrong I’ll give him that but clearly this person was going thru it. I’ll give them that, they are actually nice people when you yourself act right. But this place is literally for girls who are mentally unstable. There was so many times we weren’t doing anything especially after eating that they literally forced us to be quiet. What ? Girls in their adolescence being quiet ? Let’s be real here now. The way this program worked was terrible. Scoring system was so degrading. You have a bad day and it could potentially keep you there even longer. One day? So dumb. I saw so many girls come and go, it sounds so rude but some were worse off then me and they got to go without finishing the program. Me on the other hand? No I have to go all the way to Oak. They said everyone’s treatment is different. So someone who clearly didn’t want to leave/ wasnt ready to leave is forced to go. And others who are actually doing so much better have to stay? So unfair. I don’t wanna put all the blame on how poor the staff were trained. The girls there also played a part on my experience. But again, that’s why they are there. So much drama, unsafe behavior. I literally snuck in a razor that’s how easy it was to be unsafe there. There was many holes in the walls it was expected to happen at least once a week at one point. There was so many groups where the girls would literally gang up on each other and start arguments. It happened so much and the staff knew damn well what was going on. There was a time I wanted to run away, I clearly had a rough time. And when it came to my mom coming for family therapy she had no idea what I was doing. Like how are you as my therapist not gonna tell her what her child is going through? There were some good days but I do not recommend coming here. Listen to the PATIENTS not the staff reviews.

Words cannot begin to express how grateful I am to Imperial. They worked hard and as a team and gave me my daughter back. She was cast aside by another treatment center and therapist. Imperial tried different… medications until they found the ones that would work. They allowed her eyes to be opened to things that were really going on and taught her the skills to be able to make the changes she needed to make. Her first day there they told me she would try to get herself kicked out and they would be there holding her hand through the whole process. A big shout out to Michelle and Jess thank you for seeing the good in her and bringing it back out and never giving up on her.

I was a patient here two years ago around October 2021 to January 2022 and I wouldn't say i loved being here but I can see now how helpful it was. First of all the house is gorgeous, had a great view, we did get to go… outside pretty often, the view always amazed me. Since we got out of the house often it didn't feel like we were in prison, this place also doesn't look like a hospital either it's like a home away from home for the time your there. Beds are super comfy, the showers are great, you can wear what ever clothes you want (to a certain degree). I had a great group of people who I was in with, staff was super supportive. We got to leave the house pretty often for horse therapy or Field trips. I really enjoyed the school, it is online but with support when needed. We did have some incidents that did leave some mental scars on me but that was fully on the girls that I was in treatment with. A mental facility is always changing because of the people who are in it, so your experience could be totally different. My therapist wasnt the best and did not give me a full hour sometimes her name is Melissa or some M name I wouldn't recommend her for your therapist she seemed pretty bored in some of our sessions. Therapist leave pretty often it seems so I won't have this hold you back from going here. The food is phenomenal the chef is so kind and truly cares about the people she cooks for. We got to try alot of different types of cultures food with her. The ranks are pretty easy to get through if you doing what you need to and are not an ahole. What I mean by this is even at the highest rank you can have an off day and still succeed here. I was able to complete the program completely all the way to oak through my 3 and a half months I was here. One thing I loved about the phase system is you earn more perks while your growing like seeing and calling family more, getting to leave the house more. Especially with Aspen and Maple you get to leave the house for a treat once a week you also get to wear makeup eventually I forgot which phase. Which seems small but when you can do it in so long it just makes you feel stunning when you do. The schedule is pretty packed for the day but open enough you still have time to play cards, read a book, and talk to your friends. Especially on weekends you get to have a lot more free time cause there is no school or therapy classes. There is also a lot of therapy classes that are tons of fun my favorite was yoga but there is also art and rec. Overall my experience was positive and really changed my outlook on my self and how I deserve to be treated. I now know more about healthy coping and boundaries which has helped my life so much. This place has truly changed me but for the better I've talked with friends about there experience with there residential I was shocked how other residential treat this patients. This has caused them to have a bad relationship with therapy which can be so damaging when all they needed was a good support system. I can confidently say this place when I needed most gave me support that will help me for my entirety life and changed how I see life. If you have to send your kid to a residential I would completely wholeheartedly recommend this place. Not only for the great living condition, fantastic food, and great therapy in a ton of different forms but because it helped me so much!

Honestly I was a patient here and the staff were just amazing, there was a few staff and this one particular staff who was always just moody and not making it feel like a comfortable feeling. But all of the supervisor… staff are amazing, they are very observant and use that to know how to interact with each patient. The schooling is good, it honestly just depends on the other girls in the house and how they act together. If you are in the house during Easter or Valentines, the staff usually do something fun for us. The groups and very good, we get to decide our participation it just reflects back on us and our privilege's such as going outside to other events. The food is amazing, the chef Wayne is so funny and takes request for snacks and juice and fruit and meals we want and even sometimes decide what we do for food group. Over all though the therapists are really good, but just considering I had a really bad one before this, they try to interact with the whole house and not only their own patients. They are patient, and understanding and knowing what were going through and noticing and helping us through it. We go outside and plant or eat or do a camp fire and paint bird houses and just fun stuff, the weekend are fun and very chill and light Saturday chores. That's all I'm gonna put but Jess the supervisor deserves a raise she is amazing and treated me like one of her own, and Lauefy for always matching my energy! I learned a lot of coping skills and got time to learn and use information family therapy to work and make sure my home environment is safe. The physiatrist and nurse are so kind and funny.

Overall this place helped me a lot. The staff were great when I was there. There were only a couple times that I had incidents with staff. I have severe sleep apnea and didn’t like to get out of bed at 8 in the morning… though the staff ask me nicely over and over it ended up with my blanket getting ripped off me and yelling at me. Though I don’t see this was a very pleasant experience but I was being unresponsive to anything the staff was doing to get me out of bed. I was in this program for three months I was of the high levels when I left and my therapist still told me I wasn’t ready to leave. Though I’m doing great in the world. My therapist was something else they would always make my therapy about them in a certain way and put their experiences higher then mine. It made me feel like my problems were nothing at all. I did make friends in the time there and that made my experience way better. The staff were lovely towards me. They put me on medication that they did not tell my parents about. It made me gain weight and always be hungry. The cook was amazing but if I went back for more or if I said I was still hungry there would be little comments about the way I ate. The staff did good at de-escalating situations but if I were having a really hard time they would just give me medication to calm me down and usually put me to sleep because of the severe sleep apnea and the way I slept there. I was sharing a room with two people and my snoring were annoying them one night the next day I tried to solve the situation and asked if I could be put in a room by myself or if the girl that was getting angry with it goes into another room. I ended up staying awake with staff until the girls fell asleep so I didn’t get yelled at by one of them. That night was fun and the staff were very nice. There was a lot of drama with the girls in there and staff didn’t always handle it. Most of the girls at my time either didn’t like me or were very friendly towards me. I would joke (but I was mostly serious) on having another therapist because there was another one that help me a lot. And my therapist took it as a insult and made a whole hour of what was supposed to be my therapy time into her complaining on how she was my therapist. The higher the level you are you get different privileges like going out or watching a movie with snacks I was very fun. The way they said they were helping only half of it was helpful. I can’t deal with yelling now because there was so much of it in the house and the fights and the drama was just too intense. I also felt in the group therapy it was just to have people team up on you even if you were just trying to get through the day. It’s just known if your gonna put a bunch of girls in a house together there’s gonna be judgment. Not one day out of the three months I didn’t feel like someone staff or not was judging me. I didn’t like the three months I had to stay here but the staff made it very enjoyable and it did help me because every time I think of harming myself or want to act out I think that I don’t want to go back.

I was a patient here at IHE. I was here for 8-9 months. If I could give this place ANY LESS than 1 star I would. My ex-foster mother also wrote a review here for me since the one I originally wrote, I cannot find. Let… me tell you guys what I saw during my time here. I'll try to keep it short as there was A LOT. I was here at imperial about a year or two ago. I was there for suicide attempts and I had issues at home. My first therapist (I won't name her as she doesn't work here anymore) sided ONLY with my mother. And from this I was accused of being a liar, and kept there like it was a daycare. They told me that my father was ignoring family therapy, and didn't want to show up. Eventually, they took him off my call list completely. For no reason. I came to find out when I spoke to my father after this, that they PURPOSELY were excluding him. These people told me that my father was a horrible father and that he did not want me. But the whole time he was trying his hardest to reach me. I would write letters, and they would throw them away. NOT ONE reached my father. Our chef was amazing. But when we spoke about how we were still hungry, we were turned down and told we ate too much and that there needs to be enough for the staff to eat as well. We were not allowed to go and refill our water bottles whenever we needed to, and we were not allowed to ask for snacks. If we were hungry, we had to wait for snack time or meal time. I witnessed about four people attempt suicide while I was there. The first one was within my first week. The bullying that the house allowed was absolutely insane. I was accused of lying and bullying the others, but when I would try to speak out and defend myself, I was ignored. I witnessed MULTIPLE friends of mine being gossiped about and bullied. And one friend of mine who was bullied simply for her beliefs. They let this happen. The staff AND therapists played favorites. If you weren't a favorite, chances are your stay will be hell. Let's talk about our punishments now. If we advocated for ourselves (needing a room switch, someone's bothering us, e.t.c) we were told to deal with it ourselves. We had a group during the day where the girls in the house were supposed take the time to communicate and talk to who ever they were having problems with. No. This group was literally just girls bullying and teaming up on others for the sake of their mental health. IHE also worked with a phase system. There are four phases. These phases were supposed to be based on how well you behaved and how well you were progressing. It was definitely based on how well you listened (and favoritism I cannot stress this enough). If you were in trouble, or seen as "a problem" as some staff would say, you were put on phase hold. Phase hold means ALL of your privileges are taken away, you can't even call your family. I was on phase hold A LOT. The only times I would speak to my family was family therapy. And I was not allowed to leave the house. Towards the end of my stay they switched to a scoring system. With this scoring system they also introduced "quiet time." Quiet time was when an individual (or the entire house) got into trouble or didn't get a high enough score, they were not allowed to speak to each other or even the staff. We would get in trouble for even asking questions. Sometimes "quiet time" would last days. Oh yeah, and let's not forget that one of the staff members ended up ENGAGED to one of the girls I was there with. How crazy. I CANNOT stress enough how much I despise this place. I still have nightmares of the things that I have witnessed there. If you love your children DO YOUR RESEARCH. I was hoping that they had changed but from what I have seen from recent reviews, it doesn't look like it has. I understand this job must be so hard sometimes. I know that the staff has seen some things that they have to live with. But in no way does this excuse how we were treated. Do better for your children.
