JJPI Delaware County – Media Detox and Rehab Services
JJPI Delaware County – Media is recorded as offering intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.
The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

JJPI Delaware County – Media Address, Location and Contact Information
Records give the address as 53 West Baltimore Pike, Media, Pennsylvania, 19063. Media sits in Delaware County. The site also serves the surrounding area, and anyone traveling in should confirm the route before setting out. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
Phone ahead about parking, access and what the first appointment covers. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Admissions lines are frequently busiest early in the week, which is worth knowing if the first attempt fails.

JJPI Delaware County – Media Reviews and Ratings
Patients remember things about JJPI Delaware County that no register holds: who answered the phone, how the first day went, whether family were included.
If you have that kind of knowledge, a review in this section passes it on.
Be careful attending JJPI if you are African American. My children and I started attending due to issues with one of my children and my experience has been horrible and a major cause for more anxiety and stress. It… feels like the staff here is not culturally trained in dealing with the real life issues and truama that African Americans face, and when things get real they will only worry about covering themselves and their positions. It is very scary to ask for help with your mental health period, but it gets even scarier when you have to worry if what you say will be held against you in a court of law. This was my experience it may not be eveyone else's but they came highly recommended and I am highly disappointed. If you just need to go somewhere to bs or for your paperwork, okay. But if you are seeking real help with serious truama, you should run.
If you come here, do not choose Mackenzie Fallister. She sent me to a crisis center since a bunch of issues had worn me out and I didn’t want to be alive anymore. I got hospitalized, once I came out the hospital, went… to IOP therapy for about 3 months. When I was supposed to come back, it was close to the end of the year. Suddenly she brought up all these dumb excuses, “let’s wait until after the holiday break is over”, “oh my computer is broken”, “I have a patient having a crisis”. By time I finally scheduled with her, my severe brain fog caused me to miss my first appointment and my second appointment. She also kept calling out more and more often, never explaining why. And I always thought that was weird. I feel like she played me on purpose because she knew my memory was bad. More than likely her job is stressing her out because she’s a free therapist. Not my issue though, should’ve found an easier job. You may have gotten away with what you did Mackenzie, but you will get your karma and I hope you do.
JJPI has changed my life.
If i could give a zero star I would. They have an attendance policy that I feel the only follower with certain people and I say that with the most conconfidence after over hearing a conversation between the doctor and… front desks staff. A patient hasn't been seen in four months and still able to come and get an appointment. But if I make a mistake my kids get discharged for something out of their control even myself I got discharged for lack of memory when upset. Which we come to that conclusion in therapy. JJPI is a trauma facility that was created to help others right??? You can not choose who you want to help for that make it a private institute for people who you feel like is worthy of helping!
The one lady that answers the phone is ignorant. People with mental health issues shouldn’t be talked to like that. Why are you asking me questions about something you guys said? She needs to reevaluate her tone and be… more professional and then wants to argue with me saying she’s being direct not rude very professional.
A horrible experience. I should have read the reviews first. It's a 4hr in person intake. I was there 4hrs. My trauma was not taken seriously. This place is a scam. No clients were there. She didn't read my… questionnaire. I felt humiliated. I felt like a joke. She made me feel unworthy of help. She charged me for the full 4+hrs just to deny me service. Then I saw the psychiatrist. Dr. Harowitz. All he talked about was himself. It is very hard to believe he went to college. I felt like my life story is going to be used against me. And I definitely felt discriminated against. I may be wrong but that's how I felt. I don't know who to call but I'm thinking about calling the commission on human relations and the better Business bureau. I need to go to therapy just for my experience on May 5th. Good luck with JJPI.
This place is amazing and has helped me so much!
Wonderful attentiveness to my concerns
Terrible experience with these people besides running programs which are useless and a waste of time they also don't care about their clients well being or providing or following any of the standards outlined in the… American theraputic standards. Furthermore, they've manipulated records, mislead me, lied and conduct business in a predatory fashion as none of the clients there are there of their ownn free will. These people are exploiting a vulnerable community forcing usless programs.which have zero statistical data to substantiate the effacy of their programs and will literally say anything to get their way or turn the tables. Ive never been more disgusted with a group of people in my life. I feel they should be held accountable as they would never treat a patient that wasent forced to be there in the manner that they treat their patient's and its unacceptable and they believe they answer to no one which is their arrogance on full display. They believe they can release anythimg and everything to parole amd expect you to have a level of trust or theraputic relationship when in reality no other therapist releases anything thst is not comoletly necessary in order to be client with parole thus again showing you whonthey actually work for which it isn't the clients. There is no metrics for completing the programs it's when they think tour remorseful enough and only then can you complete the program, meaning that as long as they've got openings your going to be enrolled monthly so they can continue to keep the $ rolling in. The evaluations are a total scam as well and if they get a referral yourndoing the program. There is no ethics or objective reason other then theybget money for your attendance. They alsondont vare about yourntime and will schdule things when ever they want and demand the client to make it work even if its at the last minute. They break the laws by refusing to release medical records which are your right as well and chsnge the policy repeatedly in order to attempt to avoid having to release them. All one needs donis submit a request inw writing snd they must release you all files within 30days max but no other office takes more them 2 days to provide you a copy and they only.do.thisni can figure monthly can alter or change your records to be complient. They committed fraud and violated the law by lying and signing all my records and releases with verbal consent given and I NEVER was made aware of any of this and once i brought their criminal behavior to their attention they kicked me out of the program in order to get me violated and silence my observations of wrong doing. Photo below shows this scam and is proof. Dont taken this abuse lying down write your local representive photograph everything you sign and question everything. This place is harming people and needs shut down. These are dangerous, unethical people and for more resources go online and look up if your therapist is right for you. If you way no to the majlritynofnthe questions then you know they're not good for you and your not in a good relationship.
Honestly I've been here before as a child and was very guarded because I felt like I was a problem child and didn't feel understood nor heard much. I've never gave JJPI a chance mainly because I was always been forced… in restricted areas or moving far away. I've been to too many places requiring therapy and been uncomfortable with an inappropriate therapist-client relationship before where I was receiving unwanted actions being feel up on and I was living with a therapist before I used to look up to as a mother figure not at jjpi a different institution. So I was hesitant to give therapy a try especially forced on medication at 8 years old being misdiagnosed and muted to express myself. Just based on the intake evaluation itself I was able to be completely honest and open about most things without feeling judged and actually felt heard and understood for once. I am currently on a wait-list and hopefully as things get further into the therapy healing journey I can receive the help I need for once and all and improve myself for myself and as a mother. Breaking the cycle for a better future. It gave me hope and made me feel amazing less lonely to know that I wasn't tripping and it isn't my fault for everything that had happened that I've decided to go shopping and didn't feel anxious for once lol 😆. We'd see how therapy goes.
Declared a friend didn't have the issues he had been diagnosed with over ten years ago...and had them thrown off treatment. Refused to give anyone the doctors name and license number
Seriously the worst service I have ever “received” in the history of my mental health journey. The intake department is disorganized, the waitlist is years longer, and the only therapist I spoke with exuded absolutely… no empathy! I called JJPI well over TWO YEARS AGO and was put on their waitlist for EMDR therapy - an amazing type of therapy for those struggling with PTSD. I called regularly to check the waitlist over the past two years, and during the course of waiting moved twice. JJPI failed to ask for any address updates, so in October 2022 when it was finally my turn to be assigned a therapist, they could not reach me. I called again at the beginning of November to ask if I was still waitlisted, and I was told by the intake department that it was indeed the case. Little did I know, I had already been assigned a therapist and she was trying to reach me. In fact, she had been trying to reach me since October, and upon not hearing from me for 2 WEEKS, I had ALREADY been discharged! Rather than the intake department inform me of this, or that I had ever been assigned to a therapist in the first place - whoever I spoke with opted not to do their job that day, or even bother to look into my situation. Without my knowledge, my case was reopened, and they reassigned me to the first therapist. When she could not reach me (yet again) because I had moved, I was discharged a SECOND TIME. I received a letter for the FIRST TIME at the end of November. The letter was dated 11/14, and notified me that I was being discharged from JJPI after waiting TWO YEARS for services. I left a professional, albeit angry voicemail, and received a call today from Tongyu Zhou, the therapist that had been assigned to me. Grant it, if this had all been some logistical error, I would not have written this review. I am writing this review because of Tongyu Zhou and how she spoke to me when she broke the news that there was absolutely nothing she could do. Not only was she cold, and her voice devoid of any real warmth or emotion, she continued to talk over me when I was simply attempting to express that I upset about what happened. While I understand she was at a loss, it is no excuse for her to speak to someone struggling without compassion, validation, or even bothering to listen first. Active listening skills and the ability to validate emotions is necessary to be a good therapist. I am trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and consider that perhaps she is young, and/or a recent graduate, but I have been spoken to with more compassion and understanding by doctors, fast food workers, and customers at my own job. Given that I work in the mental health field myself, I feel compelled to write this review. I hope that she sees it, takes in the feedback, and does her best to treat her patients better than she has treated me. It would not have been so difficult to listen to my feelings on the matter and offer a few lines of validation with actual emotion in her voice. “I can hear how upset you are,” would have worked fine. She could have said “This system is rigid and unfair, and I wish I could do more,” or even simply, “I am so sorry.” Instead I was spoken to as if she were a robot simply parroting back protocol. All in all, I am relieved I will not be receiving therapy from someone who lacks such basic skills. Hopefully, Tongyu Zhou and the receptionist I spoke with at the intake department are not a reflection of the other employees at JJPI. Luckily, I am receiving funds for therapy through the VCAP, and I will be using them to get therapy elsewhere. I strongly suggest you consider this route if you have experienced a violent or sexual crime in Philadelphia. All JJPI offered me was to go back to the bottom of the waitlist after two years. This is the coldest treatment I never received, bar none.
Still waiting its been 6 months ima keep calling to check my staus thought 😔💙
Been on waitlist for 5 months and counting as high priority. Was told my time on the waitlist has come and they would assign me with a therapist 3 weeks ago. No one called me back. Tried contacting them multiple times… again and just got the run around. Frustrated and tired. Doing this to people with mental health struggles is not okay. Edit: been past 6 months and they still say I have a couple months to go ha! Don’t even waste your time yall. They could care less and lie to you continuously letting you keep hope and call you “high priority” to make you feel like they they’re doing something about it. What a joke
Intake went fairly well back in early March. I was told that I needed one on one with therapist there because of my condition/disorders. I was put on a waiting list for therapist but was never contacted by J.J. Peter's… . Several months later still no reply when I call/e-mail."we will get back with you." No on does.
This place helped me. The therapist that they have there are excellent. They actually help you through what ever it is. I know they did for me.
My name is KHY & I love my therapist, she’s awesome. She’s easy to talk to, and she makes me feel comfortable telling my story. This is a great institute that will help you get better. I have Autism, and this institute,… was very instrumental in teaching me how to be less anxious and have faith in my decision making process. The therapist here are wonderful. I highly recommend this INSTITUTE.
Not LGBQT educated. Instead of working through trauma they created more. Not trained enough in mandated reporting and what is actual child abuse. Did not work with the family. Seemed too concerned about being my child's… friend than someone to help excel and get through past trauma; if you have a multi cultural home and bi racial child watch how fast the childline calls roll in... regarding the program in Media, PA
I recommend this place if you want the help. Very good staff members and very professional.
Good atmosphere with good caring people.
I love my therapist and the staff in general. They are nice non judgmental and really helpful . it's a great place and if you utilze it it does help😊
