Gaudenzia Inc – West Chester Reviews and Ratings
Families searching for treatment in West Chester often start with reviews. If you were a patient at Gaudenzia Inc, or supported one, sharing how it went gives them something real to go on.
In places like this everyone's experience is Different for me I would say This Program is and will always be home for me due to the fact that the foundation of my recovery and the restructuring of my life started here… This is a program wherewhat you put in is what you will receive out of it I am truly greatful to the staff the counselors from the Director on Down to the RSP's I've grown very fond of this place and was happy yet sad when it was time for me to move on to the next level of my recovery I honestly miss them dearly and this place will always have a special place in my heart I was able to learn and appreciate so Many things about myself where people look for perfection they forget the meaning of what it means to be greatful Last but not least The food The Food The Food The food immaculate Mama Nan and Ms T. Don't play when it come to them pots and pans let me tell you they get down in that kitchen and I appreciate the love that they've shown towards me and the rest of the community To all the staff there I'm greatful for them helping me walk in the right direction ❣️💯
My name is Adam and I'm an grateful recovered addict, my stay there was amazing very beautiful pleace to recover great staff that treat you with the up most respect, mama Nancy is a pillar in the community of gaudenzia… west Chester house I will never forget her love and passion she has doing her job and the counselors are amazing.. can't for get Aaron the director of the program he helped me in so many ways I'm am forever grateful for God letting us cross paths. God bless everyone on there journey and God bless the gaudenzia west Chester house
Wouldn’t recommend this place.
There is something really wrong with this place.
If I vould give 0 starz I would!!! This place like the others they have is horrible, the staff has picks on who they like and dislike and also are unnecessarily mean they yell at patients when they are on the phone… trying to talk to family memebers, they only get 15min at that. The staff consistently lie on patients to get them kicked out I wouldn't send my dog here!!! If you have a family member that needs help don't ever send them here, they need a staff that actually care and want to help people be better not consistently try and trigger them into a relapse everyday its a damn shame how these place meant to help others harm them smh
Forget any negative reviews! This is by far THE BEST recovery center of all times! Let's start with the director... 1st off, he will insure the best after care for your well being. He is exceptionally fair. I messed up… time after time and he gave me opportunity after opportunity. The rules of the program is enforced but he seen in me what I couldn't see in myself. Now the staff??? They became my family. I'm not saying any names but the RSP Supervisor cares deeply about the clients and their safety. She's like Debo who wants you to take the recovery process seriously. As far as the rest of the staff. Individually they they are not just assets to the company but essential to life. Now if I don't say anything about how good Momma Nancy feeds everyone, I would be dead wrong. When I say you get feed like Grandma back around, The food is excellent. My only complaint is that the residents messed up the coffee twice a day. Smh. Somebody broke into the coffee machine and got caught! Tip on my whole coffee operation 😁
I was there for close to 3 and a half months in 2010, Mrs. Nancy changed my life in so many ways. A strong independent woman who understood my pain had been through it herself and never judged! I think about her a lot… to this day still, it's why I'm writing this now, she seen in me what everyone else has seen in me; me I still didn't see it at that point. She would play this song a lot for me to listen to it was her song to me, id cry and she say that's you you just gotta start seeing it. She even went out her way on family day to come meet my then 2 year old son and hold him saying to him, you got a strong beautiful smart mommy who lives you so much all she talks about is getting better to be the best mommy you deserve and asked him if he'd share me with her cause she loved me to and couldn't wait to see me get it that time!! She was why got through that, not disappointed her became my motivation. Mrs. Nancy you are an inspiration and almost 16 years later I still think of you and the impact you had on my life. You are a beautiful, kind, loving, and also one tough cookie who doesn't take crap from anyone at all. I hope you see this one day and pray that you remember that red haired sorta Tom boyish girl you dressed like a beautiful/hot elf at Christmas in 2009 and as baby new years afterwards because you saw a beauty in me then I couldn't see. Thank you
October 2, 2001 - March 25, 2002 was my time at Gaudenzia and although it took some getting used to, it was well worth it.RIP former Director George Davis.
I don't know why it's taken me so long to review this place but here we go. This place is a trap. They bring people in and take advantage of them. If you are there for some legal reason than they will do everything they… can to keep you as long as possible. It's supposed to be a 30-90 day program but there were people there for 4 or 5 months when I was there. They all had similar stories and said if they complained than the director or the counselors would threaten to change the dates in the computer to keep them there longer. The patients are responsible for everything housekeeping except for lunch and dinner. The pots and pans, trash, prep for the meals, cleaning the entirety of the building inside and out, running the meetings, etc. They spend as little money as possible to maximize profits and it's incredibly obvious. The bedding was disgusting and I complained because my super thin comforter had a massive hole in it. They did nothing to remedy the situation. The only food we get is what they could get for free through donations and typically the staff would pick through it first and take all the good stuff and load up their cars, leaving us with half rotten fruit. It had a very survival of the fittest vibe in there, much like jail. The cook was actually pretty decent and made some decent lunches and dinners so I can't say it was all bad. If you are finding a place to check yourself into on your own free will do NOT go here. In fact, only go here if you have absolutely no other options. The way they tell people 30 days and then string them along in that hell hole using threats of forgery to ruin their life just for some extra dollars is honestly legitimately evil. I left there with no more physical habit but I may have been more depressed than before I started.
I take passengers from there as an Uber driver and I hear that it's a house of horrors. I also sensed immediately that the coordinator who arranged the ride was a mean individual. This House needs an auditing and… house-CLEANING.
This place is horrible they don't focus on your recovery they make u want to go get high plz don't come here
There are barely any counselors. Your daily meetings are led by another patient. Which is an obvious disaster. Men and women are not allowed to speak like it's the 1940s. Getting in to see the doctor is like waiting in… line for the first ever iPhone. The staff are heartless psychos who truly seem to thrive on suffering. It's clean. The location is nice. Food isn't terrible.
My fiance hung himself in this rehab. They had no idea . Kept no eye on him like they SHOULD have
My loved one told me the place was filthy, holes in the mattress he’s supposed to sleep on. You’re not allowed to visit for over a week when they first get there. I can kinda understand that. But the status of the… facility? They should be shut down.
I loved this place yes it was hard and yes I had it out with alot of staff but if it wasn't for this program i would not be alive today and I would not have 4 years clean I loved how hard they were on me that's what I… needed they don't hold your hand they push you hard and that push is what it took me to stay clean so I would recommend this place
DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN This is the absolute WORST facility my loved one had ever been in. I have visit in many places, including jail and never felt so intimidated or unwelcomed… by a councilor. The councilor set up a therapy session after driving over an hour to get there she denied the session. My loved ones intake paperwork was not done for over a month after being there. Staff is physically and verbally abusive to residents and thier children. Residence are denied thier rights to visits and phone calls home. There is one therapist for the entire house who treats them worse than they would be treated in prison. No human compassion!!!
I'd like to thank jim one of the techs there.. He was such a good help with everything and a special thanks to Samai.he is a great counselor..me and him gad so much in common , he made my stay there that much better… thanks guys and keep up the good work
I would not recommend this facility to a suffering addict...I did 4 months at Kindred House and the disrespect from staff and lack of counsel were my biggest concern, not to mention I only attended 1 outside meeting out… of 4 months of stay. The place had mice and stink bugs EVERYWHERE, and I was bitten by a bedbug twice in the last month of my stay... but I can go on and on about the lack of treatment and care I received at Kindred. Kindred House needs new management and definitely a new director.
This place is absolutely terrible. The staff doesn't even follow their own rules. They don't help anyone with anything. I was there for a month with my 1 year old & begged them daily to help me set up his insurance,… they had not. There is no recovery based meetings or groups. I've been out of there over 3 weeks & they are refusing to set an appointment with me to get the rest of my belongings after having an appointment & being told "today's not a good day" & then being hung up on. The day care is atrocious, the 2 daycare employees don't help your children. It's like a chaotic zoo that the workers just sit & watch over the room of screaming children. They cram as many women & children into the facility as possible in order to get paid. There's not even enough room in the kitchen for everyone & their kids to eat. Not enough plates or silverware. A lot of the time you're chasing other people's children while the parent doesn't pay any attention to them. If you're lucky you may get to go to one actual AA/NA meeting a week. Nothing is consistent. It is complete & utter chaos 24/7 & no-one seems to know what they're doing. Most of the staff is racist & unprofessional. This place is a money hungry abomination & should be shut down. This place is a joke, don't go there! They are supposed to help people get housing assistance after enduring their grueling 6 month program, a lot of the women & children have to be placed into homeless shelters or yet another program after waiting around for even more time & still not placed anywhere beneficial. A lot of hyped-up false promises. They tell your family that they can call to find out your progress & my sister called there every single day & no-one picked up the phone & no-one called her back & I had no idea she was even calling.
Place is unprofessional, dirty, fights, police being call, seek treatment elsewhere
This place saved my life. I admit some of the people there and some of the rules pissed me off but they helped me in the long run. I have 6 months clean now. Thanks Gaudenzia!!!! You guys are the best!!!! Keep up the… amazing work!!!! And Miss Nancy is the best!!!! She always has something kind to say and you can tell that she really cares.
Much like any treatment facility, you get what you put into it. I earned my seat there, my behaviors and addiction were powerful. The concept of accountability, responsibility and choosing a better life for myself… started right here. If your afraid to be confronted in the eyes if others, you've arrived at the right place. Staff does not coddle or cater.
This place is AWFUL. They have no idea what they are doing. They do NOT follow their rules and regulations. They do not answer questions or phone calls in a timely matter. They said they were going to have my son call… me and the case worker LEFT , no call no nothing. It is a horrible, horrible place. Gangs, people steal things, they have no control over their residents. They are inexperienced, they are disorganized and do not help anyone there. I believe this place should be SHUT DOWN !!
The staff was very friendly and informative. They show a genuine concern for their clients. I feel they aren't just another number to them. Witch is what I found in some other facilities. Thanks, Carl
