Madeline Centre – Lynchburg

I have been going to the madeline center for over 6 years. The madeline center has absolutely saved my life. It has a very special place in my heart. It hurts my heart to read some comments about some of the peoples… experience. I am turely sorry to hear that anyone has had to go through situations they have went through at the madeline. The madeline is a very amazing and special place for anyone who is looking for a positive change in their lives. You will have one on one sessions with therapist along with an amazing group sessions you will partake in to share your story with others who are as well struggling with similar issues in their lives. Yes there has been some staff changes over the years and some very special therapist and doctor have choosen to part ways with the madeline center over the year. And yes it has changed not only my own Experiences over the years, but many others as well. I will never give up on the madeline center and i will do anything in my power to help the madeline in any way possible so they can continue to help others as they have helped me and saved my life. I would be dead right now 100%, if it were not for the madeline center. They are helping me continue on my 6 year strong Sobriety of walking, breathing and living on this earth with my childern and family i am blessed to have. Thank you madeline center. Everyone mean so very much to me at the facility, and i know how hard everyone is working to help others. I can only pray for the strenght and knowledge i can return for every member of the madeline center family as you have did for me. Please keeep up the great work helping others. You save lives everyday you have your door open. Thank you.

I sought help at The Madeline Centre for mental health support, but it was one of the worst decisions I made. The therapists lacked empathy and seemed more focused on billing hours than actual recovery – sessions felt… rushed and unhelpful, like they were just going through the motions to get paid. Confidentiality was a joke; my personal details were mishandled, and I felt exposed and violated. Management was disorganized and dismissive when I complained, leaving me more distressed than when I started. This place doesn’t care about clients; it’s all about the money. Find a better facility that actually values your well-being.

I came to The Madeline Centre seeking genuine support for my recovery, but it was a complete waste of time and emotionally damaging. The staff showed zero respect for confidentiality— they twisted my words in notes to… make me look bad, ignoring HIPAA rules entirely. When I raised concerns to higher-ups, there was no kindness or resolution; I left every session more upset than before. It felt like they were just dragging out therapy to bill more, not actually interested in my progress. The whole operation seems disorganized and unprofessional. Save yourself the pain and go elsewhere for real care.

Amazing friendly and real life staff…. Accepts you where you come from but encourages growth and helps you better understand yourself and the WHY behind it all! Wish I’d found them sooner!

This is not a safe place to go for therapy. They do not respect confidentially, HIPAA law and protecting patients. After reviewing my notes they put half statements I said to make me look bad but left out the other half… of that statement. I am highly upset and hurt about this even when speaking to higher ups I still did not receive any kind of human kindness or respect.

The turn is dire tly beside Subway, Black mailbox, you only see driveway, building is in the back kind of hidden.

I've been in this program for a little over four months, and it has saved my life. I know many others would say the same except for the stigma, but I want people to know that it does work so that more people will give… it a try.

Joann is the most amazing counselor and I think the best around. She is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. She has a strong sense of people and has helped me understand myself on a deeper level.

I will give one star for it was not a complete loss, but this place is a waste of time. Not only were the therapist late because they had "job interviews", "take a shower", or clean their place, but they are not… experienced. One of my therapist could not even handle my son who I was told had training to do this. I am not speaking for all of them but I know from my experience and other families that use this company that there is only a handful of staff in the Lynchburg office that is superb! When I brought issues up nothing was really done and having children with autism it is not beneficial to bring numerous people in the home with a child having extreme behaviors. This can cause more chaos but let's be honest it's all about money with them. These families and children do not matter. This is the only company that I have worked with that parent's do not have to sign time sheets accounting for these employees and their hours. I can and will give multiple reasons of why you should not seek services from this company. I still have my letter that I sent when I walked away, which was the best decision for my children and my family. Not only did the therapist, if you want to them that, come in my home and refuse to speak to me because of the childish manner and her being mad at me, the owner Justin wanted to give her cues cards for her to interact with me. So now the clinician is being told to use therapeutic tactics that we use with our children just to speak to me. Becuase, her words were she did not have to speak to me when she worked with my son. I tried not leaving this review but I think people should be cautious and aware that you will not receive the best care concerning ABA or professional behaviors. Also do not expect them to be there on time and if they come late, they will not be making the time up staying longer. I have been silent long enough and I truly finding it heart breaking the children and families that will suffer from this business. I have heard enough families complain about the Lynchburg office. I thank God I found a company and therapist that has accomplished more with my son in her first three months than this place did in almost a year. Just be cautious and aware as you proceed with this office.
