Great Dr. Streett would recommend Rivendale to anyone who may be going through any mental health issues. They have saved my life more than once!!! They will access you all you have to do is take the first step!!! Thanks… Rivendale!!!!! Wendy U.
This place is horrible they smacked some kid in the back of the head with a news paper cuz he said “lady’s lady’s calm down”
I have a loves one in treatment at Rivendale. They seemed great at first and then after the Dr visited they were so overly sedated that I was scared for their safety. After much complaining the Dr adjusted the meds and… it helped a little but since coming home we have realized that there were 8 different medications provided that did not need to be used together and could have lethal had we not noticed the warning signs. I do not recommend this place unless absolutely necessary. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I do want to give credit to the staff ( especially the outpatient staff) as far as being accommodating and helpful with transportation and so far it seems like they might actually care about the patients well-being and not just getting a paycheck. I will update my review if anything changes.
Best Mental Health Facility in Arkansas. Perriod.
Our family had a wonderful experience with Rivendell. My son first received care through their acute program and later returned for their sub-acute program. From the beginning, I felt that his treatment team listened to… my concerns and included me in decisions regarding his care. I especially appreciated how willing the medical team was to work with me to find a medication plan that I was comfortable with and that was beneficial for him. His therapists, counselors, and staff also spent a great deal of time teaching him practical skills for managing his emotions, communicating appropriately, and handling difficult situations in healthier ways. Since returning home, the difference has been remarkable. He is actively using the tools and coping skills he learned at Rivendell in his everyday life. His emotional regulation, behavior, communication, and ability to work through situations have all been wonderful to see. Most importantly, he came home with skills that didn’t stay within the walls of the program, he is actually putting them into practice. As a parent, seeing that growth has meant more than I can express. We are incredibly grateful to the therapists, counselors, medical team, and staff who invested their time and effort in helping him. Thank you for giving our family support, guidance, and tools that continue to make a positive difference in his life.
My son was sent there. He's 12. He has some severe issues. One night he called us and I was like so what are you doing? He said watching TV. I said what are you guys watching? He said Scream. Im like the scary movie of… teenagers killing ppl? He said yes. We were 3 minutes into the call. Im like why are they letting you watch that? I don't even let you watch that. And tje guy monitoring the call said "Times up." 3 minutes. Thats all he could talk. The next night I questioned it again and again the phone call was immediately disconnected. Why is mental health places letting children with mental problems watch movies of people stalking, harassing and murdering? And yes while they said the staff was being taken care of that did it what other issues has this caused? They also diagnosed my son with Reactive attachment disorder. Nothing else. And yes while he most likely has it due to being adopted at a young age he has more than just that. 2 days before they released him he informed them he planned on killing us all. The next day he planned on killing us all. The next day he no longer wants to kill us. So they sent him home. Knowing he had a plan on murdering his whole family. Including 6 year old twins. Luckily Pinnacle Pointe took him and is actually trying to help him. Instead of just holding him until they can send him home.
I have be coming to Rivendell for the last 10 years. I have all ways felt I have gotten the best care possible. The staff if is loving an caring and willing to take time to talk and discuss what ever seem to be bugging… us. Adam, David, Christiana, yes even Rico for me you are the back bone that is why I keep coming back. Can't forget doctor street. He gets us. He is a phenomenal doctor who is extremely intelligent caring\nJust an all around great guy , I would give rivendell a hundred out of a hundred
Rivendell and their staff were right there to help me and meet me where I'm at when Crisis struck! I'm so very thankful to Adam Mark David Crystal Dr Streett and all the staff that helped me through! Like a kiss every… one of you I would but I can't and this is the best I can do.
My daughter stayed there and was released today. She left a review as well but I wanted to reiterate the praise she left for Tony and Adam. They made her stay so much better than it could have been and she had so much… good to say about them making it better there for her. Thank you so much to them. I appreciate you so much.
Adam and Tony in GAP are the absolute best. They made the stay the best it could be. They actually cared and it showed. I wish I could say that about the rest of the staff.
10/10 experience!
I was never at your facility, and don’t appreciate you texting me saying that I was,can I sue you
if you genuinely want to help someone do NOT admit them here
I'm in a position to provide a review, specifically, for the general adult population unit (GAP). Having read many of the previous comments some are difficult to determine exactly which unit they might be referring… to.... Approaching some of the negative comments in the most empathetic and open-minded way, I still have a difficult time even remotely thinking we're referring to the same facility. Beyond the aforementioned empathy I realize I can't fully share another individual's perspective so here is mine > the facility is clean, it is well staffed, they provide a safe atmosphere, recreational activities, patients are well fed... Here is the part that tips the balance when comparing psychiatric hospitals: as an acute care facility the management, adjustment and, ultimately, optimization of psychiatric medications would be prioritized just under O2, H2O and food nourishment... I digress, facing facts - when admitted the patient meets criteria of being unstable - the ultimate goal is becoming stable so that you can achieve discharge and this progress is mostly addressed medicinally. The chief psychiatrist for adults at Rivendell, I've found, is where the game changes. David Streett, in my opinion, is a top tier psychiatric clinician in at least the following three areas: superior clinical knowledge and expertise, empathy and communication and thoroughness, which, without the first two attributes is simply wasted motion. If you want/need help in the context of psychiatric stability (I suggest one becomes and maintains awareness in the idea that stability doesn't only have to mean safe. A savvy change in medication can easily establish momentum and put someone in the position to flourish soon after discharge), Rivendell Hospital is my recommendation.
Rivendell is one of the top if not the top facilities that focuses on mental health. They help people of almost any age and nobody there will make you feel like a "nutjob" or "crazy" throughout your time on campus.… They will go out of their way to make your time with them as pleasant as they can, all with a genuine smile across their faces. I felt like each and every employee I met truly loved their job and their ability to help someone the way they were able to help me. I will forever remember each one of you amazing people that I was blessed to meet during my week stay. Just know that I will always remember each one of you. Thank you so much for everything you did!!!
I don't know what they did but my daughter came home better than ever I dont know what other people experienced but if you do take your child here y'all do tremendous work on children and I cant thank y'all enough it's… been a week since she came home and she is doing so good thank you all for your help
They were the best none of them were rude they were very understanding and the classes you could understand and not feel uncomfortable they listened and answer the other question I had if they could
This place changed my life 100%. Gave me the treatment and medication I needed to get back on track as well as a plan of action for when I got out. The people here are amazing and treat everyone with respect and… dignity. You do not feel like a prisoner here you are a patient that gets treated like family.
it was horrible i went a few times when i was younger it wasnt clean, we had to sit in a class room for 12 hours, i barely ever saw the therapist, and most of the staff were rude
So I was at Riverdale outpatient program and I was discharged for no reason and because I am transgender and was moving from home to home I was able to have a shower ever day and now I'm not able to come back there it… seem like Riverdale there for helping people with mental health and they are turning people away so how hard is it to get help with mental health these day it sad that we have people in this world like that it really not far to someone that needs help don't even take your kid there at all I won't even take my dog there very unprofessional
My child was sent there from a residential setting and instead of calling to find out her past behaviors plus the incident that lead her to this place they diagnosed her with what I call an umbrella diagnosis (could… mean anything) along with something other diagnosis that was ruled out by her actual personal psychiatrist. There was no actual communication to me to even help with diagnosis... i had to call and ask questions because no one called me with it the 1st 24 hours! I got a call about medication they wanted to put her on and we have already tried so i gave them all the medications that we have tried and didn't work so there would be no re-explaining and well they didn'tbother to communicate that with the drs or put it on as a note and i got 2 more calls afterthat to try meds that i specified my child can not take. There was no communication between myself as a parent an this hospital at all until I called the hospital. If I did not call no one was going to cal me..
I sent my child to Rivendell for care because she threatened to cause harm to herself on February 24 at 12:04 I received a call from Ashley my child’s therapist we talked about my child’s safety plans times to pick her… etc Ashley then placed me on a brief call … when Ashely took me off hold she told me my child was upset I could hear my child in the background crying Ashley said “I believe it was a staff member “ my child said “yes” my child told me it was a miscommunication With her calling another patient slow then the staff member who the director(Jenifer ) later told me was a medical technician Attempted to humiliate my child by saying her mother did not want her … I proceeded to ask Ashly to get me a supervisor she told em okay and HUNG UP ON me I called back several times to not get and answer ..Kendal the nurse. On the. Floor answered and. Tried to intimate me by saying they had camreas ..nobody has contacted me …please contact me !! UPDATE but not really they sent me this letter in the mail I callled to see what actions where taken they told me nun because it didn’t happen ….but the letter said actions HAS BEEN TAKEN this letter seems to be used to shush me but I will always believe my child ..especially in circumstances like this one if it’s comes out she lied oh well but this is tooooo convenient I JUS WANT A PROPER EXPLANATION EVERYTIME I ASK FOR AN EMAIL FOR RISK MANAGEMENT NOBODY HAS IT SMH To clarify she is my sister I have custody of her that’s my child …that’s the info used against her her mom”bio” didn’t want her …they twisted and used info I gave them to hurt her that’s how ik she’s not lying I will not let this go I sent her for treatment because I thought that was best ..and I regret that decision daily ..you all failed my baby
They claim to take 4 year old but if your 4 year old struggles to bathe or wipe after number 2 they will not take them. We were never asked these questions. We live 3 hours away and 2 days later they called and said… they couldn't help due to his fine motor skills. The woman that called is is named Sharon or Shannon and said i quote 'this is not a daycare '. We were only trying to get our son help. Thankfully the supervisor agreed that that was very rude and hopefully she will spoken to about the way she speaks to others
