San Luis Valley – Alamosa Detox and Rehab Services

San Luis Valley – Alamosa delivers intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Establishing what happens after the program ends is worth doing early. Ask how the program handles someone who has been through treatment before.

Addiction and mental health are worked on at the same time here. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. What suits one person will not suit another, so ask directly. It is reasonable to ask how progress is reviewed and by whom.

Very unethical. Don't trust them. Will threaten and hold things over your head. Report them to Dora. You have rights don't let them mess with your freedom. I don't play these games.

Don’t know what’s up with this place the last year but it has drastically gone down hill. Which sucks since they’re one of the only behavioral health providers in the valley

I like to leave high star reviews just in hopes maybe someone will actually realize it’s about wanting change and not ruining a business chance at it by affecting their overall ratings. I agree with the comment; “The… clinicians are either great or terrible…” ABSOLUTELY. The front desk is cold 98% of the time, has a way of making you feel like an absolute waste of space, time, and effort……Now if this was an Arby’s, or maybe even an eye dr, honestly I’d probably move about my day. But this is MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. The thought of having people with god awful bedside manner when you’re in such a time of need & vulnerability is absolutely infuriating. Some of us are crippled by social interaction, especially phone calls/confrontation, the least you could expect is someone with more than a monotone voice and dead look in their eyes. Maybe it’s because the fronts & and clinicians are properly medicated/regulated so they come across with no form of emotion….Lapsing on meds, no call backs for days/weeks. I won’t list my dr quite yet in hopes there is progress made. These are quite literally peoples lives you are playing with, if you only have a textbook perception of these disorders, maybe it’s time to look at a different industry.

Al Gonzales is my therapist, a Veteran and is extremely helpful and therapeutic in many aspects of my life. In years past I had a doctor, there, who put me on multiple medications, he changed my life. I was a complete… mess. Overweight, depressed, feeling worthless. Everything changed on the meds I was taking. For some reason the doctor was let go, later. I am thankful for that doctor, in that time in my life. I am thankful for Al Gonzales, now!

I need help suffering from acute cPTSD and with undiagnosed ADHD. I was a crime victim at the bad end of injustice. They failed to recognize the ADHD and offered no help. Even with the understanding that I was crime… victim who needed advocacy. Additionally the PTSD was uncomfortable until I began therapy and treatment after the ADHD diagnosis. I now know that slv behavior health disregarded the signs and was more than willing to toss me to wolves.

The SLV Behavioral Health Group - their facility, their doctors, and their support team - is wonderful! They have a pharmacy on site and call to remind you when it's time for your prescription refill; they'll even mail… it to you! They not only made it easy to get the care I needed, but they actually listened and made me feel like more than just 'another patient.' I highly recommend!

Great people - this agency works to reduce the stigma of mental health in the community and are the safety net provider for the San Luis Valley. The changing healthcare environment is critical in integrating care for… physical and behavioral health.

Doesn't make sense the way you have to be clean for 21 days from Suboxone! If you are going to be clean that long why would you want to go back on an opiate that is more addictive! When you're sick from detoxing you… need help quick! Not 21 days later! This policy needs to be rethought!

I really liked my counselor, but when I found out I owed $1200 for 3 visits, I canceled all further appointments. Before I started counseling, I asked the scheduler, the appointment desk, the intake counselor and my… counselor what the fees were. None of them knew, none of them referred me to the financial coordinator. Since this is a facility for the community and has a sliding fee base, I thought I would be able to afford it. I was referred to this place by providers at San Luis Valley Health as the most affordable option. My counselor noticed the fees when I tried to make a 4th appointment and sent me to the financial person. She said my insurance would cover 80% of the cost, so I would only owe 20%. I cannot afford $80 a session either. A psychiatrist in Denver in private practice only charges $250 an hour, so $400 is ridiculous! Is this why our health care costs are so high? Is this why many people don't seek or get the help they need? I know I won't be able to afford counseling support now.
