Silicon Valley Recovery – San Jose

Our son came out of there 2 years ago for alcohol and Adderall addition. They put him on heavy duty Suboxone which is suppose to help with opioid which he has never been on. 2years later we are have gotten him down to a… small amount but all it did was give him another thing he had very difficulty to get off. Plus being at the facility there it did nothing for his ability to want to get off adderall because that isn’t wants Suboxone is suppose to be use for.

The staff at SVR is OUTSTANDING! Each and every staff member played a huge part in my experience. I felt extremely safe, comfortable and cared for. Medical staff is amazing as well. Attentive, patient and nurturing. The… program offered awesome activities to balance out the deep emotional work that we put in. Special shout out to Joaquin (counselor) for his dedication to his clients and his fun twist on group activities! 10/10 would recommend.

I absolutely loved SVR , it truly is recovery that feels like home ! That place taught me so much about myself I didn’t even know I had in me , the people there are amazing . Johnny is a really cool humble knowledgeable… guy, he helped me through some tough times . Sam is an awesome fellow himself he always had a good spirit he took us to do several fun activities, we had a few talks and he’s just overall a good guy with good vibes. Thomas was the guy who picked me up from the airport and welcomed me and made me feel comfortable right away . CeCe is a great person she also has really good vibes and made everyone smile when she was around , and also took us to do fun things. The medical staff are all amazing people who helped advocates for me for my mental health. Overall I’m forever grateful for this place and the staff my life has changed 100 percent for the better ! -Max C.

My experience at Silicon Valley Recovery was outstanding. The chef-prepared meals were excellent and made my stay much more comfortable. The IMS medical staff were knowledgeable, compassionate, and always available when… I needed support. The staff and counselors genuinely cared about my recovery and provided guidance every step of the way. I especially enjoyed the weekend outings and activities, which helped create a positive and supportive environment. The family sessions were extremely helpful in rebuilding communication and strengthening relationships with my loved ones. I also appreciated the thoughtful recommendations they provided for PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) care and how they helped connect me with a good placement that fit my individual needs after treatment. SVR was an amazing experience. It came highly recommended and i was taken well care of. Detox was painless and the nurses were very attentive. The staff and programming was fun and engaging. I especially liked the… pottery and candle making activities that allowed me to give my kids a handmade gift on visitation Sundays. They also laughed at all my stupid jokes and put up with all of my shenanigans (Hi Thomas). My biggest complaint is all the gourmet meals and a full snack kitchen. I can no longer fit into my boxer briefs. They did bought me socks when i forgot them. Thank you SVR for making my recovery smooth and pleasant. Big kudos for going above and beyond accommodating my visual handicap and taking me to the hospital when my diverticulitis had complications. -Joe F

Great facility for a recovery journey. Daily schedule, chef made meals, a clinical team, amazing medical staff, clean facilities, and a ton of relevant education and therapy. You leave feeling set up for success.

SVR is by far the best residential treatment center I've been to in the Bay Area or California in general. It's located in a wonderful neighborhood, the staff are attentive and present, and leadership is involved along… with ownership. It's one of the few places where I felt like I developed real relationships with the people who run it, because they genuinely care. For some treatment centers, the experience all depends on the other clients — it's luck of the draw. If you're there at the right time with the right group, you can have a good experience. What I found with SVR is that the clients matter less because the staff is so great. It's the only place I would go back to purely for the staff, and when that's the case, your treatment experience is guaranteed to be good regardless of who else is there with you. That's an undervalued characteristic in American treatment, and SVR totally nails it. I dearly miss the people who run it and those who have worked there in the past. SVR is also probably the most holistic program I've been a part of — one that seeks to address multiple facets of your daily life in hopes of helping you fully recover. We attended 12-step meetings, Dharma Recovery, Life Circle, and SMART Recovery, and had a family workshop on the weekends. It was a breath of fresh air to finally find a place that didn't just hand me an AA book and bring meetings in. SVR takes you out into the community so you can build relationships with people. It's invaluable, really. Rarely have I been to a detox or treatment center that actually took my advice. I mentioned that another facility had been distributing Narcan to opioid patients upon discharge and that SVR should consider doing something similar — and to my knowledge, they now do, which is amazing. They are always trying to improve, and that is simply not the case at basically every other rehab I've ever been to. They host alumni meetings both virtually and in person. I really can't say enough good things. If you're considering residential treatment, try to go here — it's worth it. I believe they even have a scholarship fund for certain situations, such as when someone is uninsured or when their insurance company tries to cut them loose partway through treatment. That happened to me, and they funded half of my stay. I would have argued that someone else needed it more than I did, but that wasn't really my call to make. I'm deeply grateful to Sonja, Jerry, Johnny, and all the nursing staff and techs for their sincerity, authenticity, and passion for the field. And for caring enough to build a program that is growing, loving, compassionate and encompassing. Love you all! Brian

This is such an amazing place. The staff is friendly and considerate. It feels homey and nurturing, and the classes and groups teach so much. The therapists and clinicians are so knowledgeable, empathetic, and kind.… There are so many cool outings and activities to participate in. I would recommend this to anyone who is struggling and needs a safe place to recover.

I was asked to carry the message at this facility once last year. The facility is really nice and the staff too. There clients participating in their recovery when asked to share. I was able to participate with the… clients as one of them was leaving to start their new journey outside of treatment. You could see the that there was a lot of love built in that moment. I applaud SVR in there service to addicts seeking a new way of life.
