SOBA New Jersey – New Brunswick Detox and Rehab Services
SOBA New Jersey – New Brunswick is listed as running partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
The record shows integrated treatment rather than one problem then the other. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

SOBA New Jersey – New Brunswick Address, Location and Contact Information
Records give the address as 104 Bayard Street, New Brunswick, New Jersey, 8901. This address falls in Middlesex County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. Journey time and parking are not trivial details when treatment runs several times a week over months.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. If the first call does not reach anyone, try again at a different time of day rather than assuming the service is closed.

SOBA New Jersey – New Brunswick Reviews and Ratings
Have you or a loved one been treated at SOBA New Jersey? A few lines about admissions, the staff and what happened after treatment ended can help another family in New Brunswick weigh the same choice.
Soba was a great first step. Very comfortable environment, great food and living space. Mike Costagliola especially stood out as being a staff member that really cared about the patients. He was super professional as… well as a friend. He would go out of his way to make sure you had everything you needed to stay comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. If you’re having trouble on your own, I would highly recommend Soba NJ to start your journey with sobriety.
What struck me at SOBA was that the levels of care actually connect to each other in a way that holds together. Detox flows into residential, residential into PHP, PHP into IOP, each phase has its own shape, but the… overall approach stays consistent. I didn't feel like I was starting over every time something shifted. The clinical thinking carried forward, the goals stayed aligned, and the people involved knew the full picture of what came before. That continuity made the whole thing feel like one journey instead of a series of disconnected stops.
SOBA has been around since 2014, and Newsweek named them one of the best addiction treatment centers in the country. That kind of recognition over time doesn't happen by accident, it's built through consistent outcomes… and a program that keeps improving. Some places feel like they're still working out the kinks. This one clearly isn't. The care here reflects years of actually getting it right.
I needed a place that understood I wasn't just dealing with addiction, there was real mental health stuff underneath it too. The dual diagnosis approach here treated both at the same time rather than putting one on hold… while addressing the other. For anyone managing anxiety, depression, or trauma alongside substance use, that kind of integrated care changes what the whole process feels like.
The yoga space and the outdoor lounge gave me somewhere to actually reset during treatment. Those aren't extras, they're part of how the physical and wellness side of recovery works here. I hadn't really connected how… much my body needed that alongside the clinical work.
I came to SOBA without a lot of hope, honestly. What I found was a program with real depth, the kind that only comes from a facility that has been doing this seriously for over ten years. The clinicians are trained at a… high level, the care felt genuinely individualized, and the day-to-day had enough structure to keep things moving without feeling suffocating. The facility itself helps. Clean, comfortable, with spaces that don't feel like a hospital. I left with a different understanding of what I was capable of. This place is the real thing.
The IOP gave me the clinical structure I still needed while keeping me connected to daily life, work, family, the things I couldn't step fully away from. Sessions multiple times a week, real therapeutic work, not a… token effort at outpatient care. It bridged things in a way that felt deliberate rather than like a forced step-down from something bigger.
Soba was the best place I could've ended up or started my journey in recovery. The staff and medical were very caring and supportive. I'd recommend Soba to everyone in need of help.
Walking in for the first time is nerve-wracking no matter how ready you think you are. The way they handle that first day, the intake, getting settled, the overall tone, it eased a lot of that fear pretty quickly. I… felt like I was in capable hands almost immediately.
Soba in New Jersey the staff there is great. It was my first time ever going into a Rehab. They welcome me with open arms. Made me feel comfortable and safe and took care of my needs. passion Cliff Neil, Brooke and also… Mike was Very awesome staff very caring, compassionate And also made you feel like you was worth something and never look down on you .They always kept a smile on my face, even when I was Filling down and out. The nurses and doctors was very awesome as well. I highly recommend if you’re ever looking to go get treatment Soba is the best. 104 Bayard location
I went into this not knowing what to expect from the facility itself. What I found was a place that felt genuinely cared for, comfortable rooms, clean common areas, and enough warmth to make a really hard situation feel… a little less clinical. That matters more than people realize when you're just trying to get through each day.
SOBA changed my life. The staff was amazing and took great care of me while I was there. I couldn't recommend a better place
After coming out of a terrible experience at the hospital, I was welcomed with open hearts and kindness at Soba. The moment I walked I was warmly welcomed with open arms into the facility. I was promptly given a plate… of some of the best food I’ve ever had. Soba is not just a recovery center, but a place to heal your soul. The counselors, doctors, nurses and techs are extremely attentive and quite literally filled my heart again. I made friendships that will last a lifetime. It is unlike any other place I have ever been to and it gave me back my confidence. Sometimes less is more. It became my home for 10 days and I made memories that will last forever.
The care and compassion shown at this facility is exemplary. The facility is smaller than others from what I’ve heard which made the care more personalized. The building was clean and well maintained. They really try to… make you feel at home and as comfortable as possible. The food was top notch and I will forever miss the chocolate bread 😊
Read carefully: Overall a quality experience that grew me as a person, but there are significant flaws to mind that may affect your fit. The high rating is earned: SOBA is miles ahead of your average rehab and you will… struggle to find better. Below is an honest pro/con. PROS: THE STAFF While many rehabs may have apathetic staff, SOBA’s staff is very mindful of individual needs and willing to make you comfortable. They are sociable, present, and genuinely willing to help your sobriety journey. Many, from technicians to advanced-degree nurses, are former addicts themselves and have the empathy required to actually help. GROUP Groups are diversified enough to avoid being your average commiseration session: art, cards, therapeutic exercise, yoga, and discussion. I was initially worried I’d die of boredom, but socializing with fellow patients plus the conversations initiated by group therapy made time fly. FOOD You will eat and nourish well here. There is a private chef on-site, and if you dislike what’s offered, there are alternate items, delivered restaurant food, and snacks. As someone snobbish abt food, this is one of SOBA’s biggest strengths. DOPAMINE RESET Whatever your vice, addicts understand dopamine chasing. If you struggle with constant restlessness that can ONLY be quelled by a substance, this program conditions your mind to appreciate slower-cooked buzzes in life. Outside rehab, many of us chase constant stimulation. Inside, you relearn simple pleasures you may have lost: befriending strangers, watching movies, enjoying music, and simply existing without substances. CONS: DISHONEST ADVERTISEMENT FOR FACILITY + AMENITIES If you get far enough in the process, you’ll be sent a tour/site advertising a sunny bedroom, gym, hottub, and patio. Detox is above ground, but Residential units are ON THE BASEMENT LEVEL (no sunlight for you haha). If that’s an anxiety trigger, keep it in mind or ask about above-ground placement; they occasionally house residents there. The gym and hottub are OUTSIDE THE FACILITY and only accessible during an isolated afternoon window when you’re driven there. They are not freely usable, so no, there isn’t “really” a gym or tub on campus. Rooms have 2 roommates, and 2 rooms share 1 bathroom/shower, meaning 4 patients per bathroom. If one room is male and the neighboring room female, the men may be barred from that private bathroom and forced to use the communal one. This happened to me, and I felt intensely misled by the advertising. GOOD FOR DETOX, POOR FOR LONG-TERM SOBRIETY Staff themselves told us numerous times they don’t view the rehab stage as “real treatment” and often provide enough therapy to transition you into PHP once insurance stops paying. This is an excellent place to relax, express yourself, idle, reset, and make friends, but not necessarily a place that moves the needle dramatically toward guaranteed recovery. OVERSIMPLIFIED GROUP & THERAPY While I praised group, I can’t say it therapeutically changed much for me. Takeaways can be very simple, generic, or standardized. If, like me, you have highly specific issues implementing coping mechanisms, you probably won’t find that nuance here (or in most rehabs). I was already well-aware of nearly every strategy prescribed by clinical staff, and the messaging felt redundant at times. Our lives are complicated and sometimes require something more surgical than generic group advice. SMOKERS BEWARE You’re brought outside every hour mainly so people can vape or smoke. It is also your only offered sunlight time, so if you’re addicted to nicotine—or susceptible to it—you may be tempted. I find it highly counterintuitive that a rehab would funnel an already addiction-prone patient body toward nicotine. NEW CURFEW POLICY Toward the end of my stay, they randomly added a 1am curfew and closed common areas after midnight. This wasn’t enforced before, but if you fear being coddled, it may be worth considering.
Soba and it's team changed my life forever. They became like a second family. I was scared because I was so far away from anything familiar to me. They bring you in and get you everything you could possibly need to make… you feel safe and comfortable. I'll be forever grateful for this facility and it's team
Called at rock bottom and the person who answered stayed patient with me the whole time, no judgment at all. That first conversation made showing up the next morning feel possible.
I had a horrible experience hear. I ended up having two seizures and was taken the the hospital by ambulance. I injured my ankle during the seizures when I fell so I'm on crutches now. This was a result of the doctor… (video call no less) tapered my benzos down to zero in a week. I explained to her that I've been taking them for 30 years and am working with my own psychiatrist to do a proper taper (about a year). She wouldn't listen so I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. That didn't happen. Also my counselor called my wife and recommended I stay in a residential facility for 3 months. I'm almost 60 and own my own house. This is so beyond what I needed. She bought into this and it's caused a lot of strife in my marriage. She was listed as an emergency contact only. I spoke to 3 other patients and he (counselor Phil) did the same to them. It's a money grab. I would stay away. I will say the food was decent though and the rest of the staff was very nice.
This is the only rehabilitation center that has ever worked for me . I was a heroin addict for 5 years and I've been to over 6 different rehabs . This one was the only one that worked . The detox is smaller then others… which allows more attention on you while you're detoxing. Everyone truly cares . The sober living program at Morrell is outstanding. You get your own little apartment with a couple roommates and your cell phone after a couple weeks. Supervisors bob and Michelle are amazing , they are very relatable and truly care like family . In this program you will do individual therapy every week with case management and find out maybe why you were using and how to cope with it.. SOBA really sets you up to thrive after addiction. I came into this place with absolutely nothing but 2 garbage bags on my back . I'm now 6 months clean, working a full time job got my car back and earned the trust of my family back. I wish I knew about soba earlier. There's a few things that could be worked on inside the company I've seen after being there 6 months, the pros outweigh the cons. T. I forever owe my life to soba and MOST of the staff. If you're rock bottom trying to get your life together like I was this is the place to go . Wanna give a shout out to tech Mike c,bob,Michelle and miss Evelyn and Jackie . They truly care and want the best for you. EDIT: a lot of the people that made this place great are no longer there and they got rid of the Morrell sober living facility. That’s what made this place great . That sober living facility saved my life along with some of the people that were there at the time . Everyone is gone and so is Morrell street sober living. Take this review with a grain of salt .
Came in thinking I'd be there for thirty days and leave fixed. That's not how it works and I'm glad they were honest about that. Recovery is ongoing and they prepare you for that reality instead of selling you a quick… fix.
They teach you about triggers and coping mechanisms but more importantly they teach you how to actually use that stuff when you're in the real world. Theory is one thing, application is another.
The detox process was managed well. I was uncomfortable but not in danger and the medical staff explained what was happening every step of the way. That transparency helped me trust the process.
My mom was worried I'd come out of here all preachy and weird but I'm just me, just a clearer version. I think that's what good treatment does. It doesn't change who you are, it just helps you be better.
I would never recommend this place. Staff is good , but upper staff another's are only out for money. Point blank. No kidding. Ya go for help an they want more an more. Take my word. You will regret it
The schedule keeps you busy but not in a way that feels punishing. You're doing actual work on yourself, not just sitting around. There's a rhythm to it that makes sense.
I relapsed once after leaving and instead of making me feel ashamed they helped me figure out what went wrong and got me back on track. That second chance mattered.
Started this thinking I'd lose myself in recovery but I actually found myself. Got clarity on what I actually want versus what addiction was telling me I wanted. That's the real shift that happened here.
My insurance covered most of it which I was worried about. The staff helped me navigate all that stuff so I could focus on getting better instead of stressing about money.
Not gonna lie, the first week was rough but nobody made me feel bad about it. The staff just kept showing up and doing their job. That consistency helped me get through the hardest part.
