Southwest CT MH Services System – Stamford Reviews and Ratings
Patients and loved ones with experience of Southwest CT MH Services System are invited to leave a review here. Say what the program was like day to day, how staff treated you and how leaving treatment was planned.
I think the other reviews are very over exaggerated and irrelevant. For me as a low income college student the staff are very friendly, helpful, bilingual and are POC. My doctor is very nice and we’re both in similar… age range so it’s refreshing to see someone like me. Who understands and explains to me the importance of taking care of yourself. :) (❤️Reminder: ppl in the medical field work really hard to keep people alive and well! Respect you doctors nurses and receptionists ❤️)
I am deeply disappointed by the unprofessional and discriminatory treatment I received from a receptionist named Emiliano at the Family Medicine Center (4th floor). He was incredibly rude and disrespectful. He… explicitly told me that my English was "very bad," but when I tried speaking to him in Spanish, he claimed he couldn't understand me, mocked me, and openly laughed at me. When I asked to speak with someone else, he claimed nobody else was there and hung up on me. When I called back, he answered the phone again. No patient should ever be humiliated, ridiculed, or hung up on, especially at a community health center. Management needs to address Emiliano's severe lack of respect and behavior immediately.
Went here for a little bit of my time in CT. I asked several times is this the test for the gender, when will I know the gender, can I get the platform to see the gender. Always replying it has not come in yet or we… have a delay in the process. Took my blood June 30th. Still do not know what I am having or what I am having because they called me as I called several times asking where the gender is to tell me that I have to get my blood redrawn. No communication from the doctors here and this is the information I wanted since 6/30 and it's 8/11. Never go here, they do not know what they are doing.
The service was excellent, I really can't complain. I feel that both they and we should arrive with empathy, a positive attitude, and above all, with plenty of time. Just because it's a medical center doesn't mean they… should be shy or worried. Some days we feel good and others we don't, but personally, they helped me a lot and were very patient with me. 🙏🏻 Thank you always ❤️🩹
Worst place ever, dont come here especially if you are pregnant.. a couple of weeks ago i had an appt at 3:45pm got there on time, they didnt bring me in until like maybe 4:05-4:10pm they got my vitals and all, put me… in a room where i was sitting until 5:20pm until the doctor came in. she apologize which it was acceptable but she said that the front keeps letting late people come in even if they are late (what does that has to do with me) then she tells me to try to make an appt early on in the day to avoid this. so i called and made a formal complaint, then the director of patient relation called me back and i explained everything, then she said YOU DO KNOW THAT THIS A RESIDENCY CLINIC, RIGHT? but before that she did mention that i should maybe make an earlier appt to avoid this then i told her that if i made an appt later on the day that it was because that works BETTER FOR ME. Then today someone called to set up an appt with a doctor for tomorrow that i already seen on the 9th, and as far as i know i didnt need to see him again because the other doctor on the 21st told me that everything was good, so this girl while im talking to her goes and tells her coworker that i was FLIPPING OUT, regardless of the situation at least put the patient on hold if you're going to talk shit behind their back, in this case in my face. anyways this place sucks except for the receptionist on the 4th floor ob gyn... 0 communication skills
i love it there.
Good service, towards me.
Excellent dental service. I was very satisfied.
Terrible service. I was stuck in a room for two and a half hours, and when you ask if they're going to attend to you, they tell you "right now," but they never show up. But they're quick to take your money.
One of the worst therapist teams we have ever encounterd.Team has a surly, I could care less attitude. The Psychiatrist tries to push drugs. Therapist we had didn't provided updated notes. At one point our time wascut… from 45 minutes to 30 minutes. quit & we were not notified or offered another therapist. Stay away!.
Let me be extremely clear: This review is for Optimus itself, and not the many wonderful employees I've had the pleasure of working with while I've gone there. Most of them are friendly, professional, and… well-intentioned people that I'm happy to have worked with. However, the company itself is an ungodly mess, and suffers from severe management issues. The billing department is either deliberately malicious or completely out to lunch. In the two years I've been coming here, I don't think I've had them give me the same number twice, and am constantly trying to hunt down the actual amount I owe. I am currently staring at a $600 bill for visits I've already paid for, and can't imagine the toll this might take on someone who can't afford to spend their time correcting an oversight. Their phone tree is also horribly disorganized, time-consuming, and often sends you into endless holds that never get answered, or kicks you into some distant office that couldn't conceivably help you with your issue. Short of showing up in person, this is often the only way to get an appointment, and follow-ups can be nightmarish to schedule. Again, I cannot imagine the burden this places on the sick, disadvantaged people who cannot afford to spend their time fighting with it. No hate to the current employees. You're all great... but maybe it's time to consider working somewhere more functional.
My service was terrible. I went for an appointment and it turned out it wasn't confirmed. Then the secretary scheduled another one for me the same day. When I asked if they were going to call me, it turned out they… hadn't even scheduled it.
The staff at Optimus on Washington Blvd. is so very nice and helpful. Dr. Nazanin is so good I choose her for my primary. (Blue Cross/anthem was horrible in sending me primary care doctors) The staff and doctors have to… work through a tough system but take pains to go out of their way to try to get you the best care they can. I am very appreciative.
Nobody picks up the phone to make an appointment
it takes multiple phone calls and multiple visits to get literally anything done, from simple medication to referrals to whatever. if you have any other options, don't go here
Unprofessional. Terrible customer service. Have you waiting around for almost 2 hours.
Does anyone even work here? Are the telephones working? Why am I allowed to even give one star when this place doesn’t even run on a one star level! No one answers the phones, but when you go in there everyone sitting… near a phone what sense does that make! The customer service is trash when they answer the phone they have attitudes! How are you mad when I’m the one waiting on hold for an hour? Seems like a bunch of duds working there. I’ll have a quicker time getting Chris brown on a phone. Health care is a top priority and this place doesn’t make there patients feel that way! Optimus customers do yourselves a favor and find a better primary!
In this hospital the staff is very unprofessional and they do not take calls at any time! And when they usually take the calls, they don't resolve anything and they don't return appointments, much less follow up on the… patient. I'm going to change hospitals.
I should have believed the reviews. Literally waited in the doctor’s room for 40min. (Not waiting area, Doctors room) I guess Dr Rachel Ariella is the only one they have. Only positive was the lovely receptionist. Never… again.
I recently had the wonderful pleasure of having to switch doctors since the one I was with left, and Dr. Seernivasan replaced her. The level of unprofessional both from her and the stuff is beyond me. The Dr. is not… only rude and disrespectful she thinks that arguing with you is how she is going to get “her” point across. She would whispers under her breath rude things while I was sitting in the office and talks to people like they are nothing. I have spoken to the director “Megan” of Optimus multiple times because their staff does not know how to properly close a case and keep calling me to reschedule appointments with her. I have never been talked down to by anyone let alone a doctor in a profession where they are supposed to care for others.
Lazy, condescending, unprofessional. I tried to schedule an appointment multiple times for a referral with Dr Glasman. Not once did they ask about insurance, or speak professionally. The first woman scheduled it for the… wrong day. When I called back, they treated me like I had made a mistake. I did not schedule incorrectly, I know my own schedule. The building is awful, there is no signage for who is on what floor. Its like navigating an abandoned school of unmarked hallways and locked doors. When I got there, I found out the doctor doesn't accept my insurance. How was I referred, spoke to several people trying to schedule this thing, and get a baby sitter to waste my time, only to discover they don't accept my insurance at the office? I uploaded my insurance to the office days ago, what was this even for? This place is a mess. Everyone involved in this should be ashamed, but I think they'd need to have a heart to actually care. Evidently thats been long abandoned. Pathetic.
These offices are poorly, poorly operated. Good luck calling them, you'll be on hold for 30 minutes and they will likely hang up on you. Horrible, horrible horrible.
I've been going there for years, and the staff has always treated me exceptionally well; I have no complaints. I pay $30 per consultation and $15 for my blood pressure medication at Raid Aid. I see comments that I… honestly find hard to believe. That's my experience.
I have been calling to try to schedule an appointment for a physical since the spring. When I call I’m either told we’re not having physicals at this time, we’re booked, or we can’t see the next month when I try to… schedule for the next month. I finally get an appointment for August. Then I get a call a couple days before my appointment saying I have to cancel my appointment. I used a sick day at work to do schedule this appointment. I tried again and then I just gave up. Now I’m back at square 1 trying to schedule an appointment in January and each time I’m told to wait 2 weeks to see the January schedule. Last time I waited 2 weeks to schedule an appointment for the next month all appointments were booked for that month. Please explain to me how I’m supposed to have a physical each year if an appointment is impossible to make or is canceled. This is ridiculous! My 1 star is for the horrible scheduling process not for the doctors.
3 weeks ago (Sept. 23) I called them to schedule an appointment with a therapist. They told me they'd call me back within 3 days to register me and get the process rolling. A week later (Sept. 30), when I hadn't heard… anything, I called back to see how the process was going and apparently their person responsible was out of office, so they told me to expect a call at the beginning of the following week. So, I call again on that Tuesday (Oct. 5) pretty overwhelmed because I'd really like to start seeing someone, and the receptionist said it'll probably be at the beginning of the next week that I get a call. Well, that's come and gone. I'll update this review if I ever get a call from them, but I feel others should know this might happen. I'm giving this a 2 because the receptionists were kind enough. UPDATE: I did end up getting a call from them in late February (so 4 months after I posted the original review). I was called by the new manager because she read my review and wanted to inform me that she's newly in charge and is making changes to ensure that what I experienced will never happen again (she did also offer me their services but I'd already found a therapist at that point 😃) Now, I can't confirm that anything has actually improved but she was very caring and earnest so I'd like to think it has. I've changed my review to a 3 to account for this.
