I was going through a rough time in my life and I called Stonington detox and they saved me from being homeless. They picked me up in 15 minutes using a Lyft and my experience. There was great a lot of helpful people.… They helped me get back on my feet and now I’m doing great and I’m working and I’m in a sober house all because of Stonington Institute trails corner Inn

This program is not about other people this program is about you the same temptations you may face in the program you will definitely face out in the street so you decide the path you seek or go down the path you… already failed. If you give up nothing you will gain nothing But if you give up everything you will gain everything 🙏 now 👁️ understand Today. I think every member of the staff for being patient with me.

The clinical side of this program was amazing ,the living conditions were poor but it was doable.food was good and enough of it to not be hungry .staff were ok but not qualified to handle meds went several days without… subs over a misprint . It is what you make of it like everything else in life . S.o jane, elyssa, mary, calvin, john, sam, don, charles, they cared about us as clients and humans

I came there excited with expectations to get sobriety. Only to walk into utter chaos! Extremely unsanitary, unprofessional staff, mold and mil-due smell of throughout the facility. Fingerprints on all over the walls.… carpet’s extremely filthy. One bathroom to 12 men as small as a porter potty. Extremely unsanitary and no one cares. No structure for a safe environment.

Just got off the phone with Rich Laffarglie who is the director of the PHP with housing program at Stonington Institute in Groton. My family member is currently a patient. The patients are allowed dozens of cigarette… breaks a day but the only way to send them cigarettes is by sending them cash. The money is given to the patients, who then give it back to staff members who do "cigarette runs." (patient keeps the money until these runs happen) Rich saw no reason to be concerned about giving addicts, with only days clean, money to hold on to. I looked into Rich's background and his training comes from law enforcement- not addiction. Which was very clear. I asked if I could send money to them instead- or send sealed cigarettes instead- he was short and rude and just said no. I'll be writing the CEO, who Rich said is his only boss. But who knows what that will do- because this is just another example of our failed system and lack of knowledgeable staff and leadership pertaining to addiction. Put a corrections officer turned warden in charge of addicts. That is the "treatment" and the guidance they are receiving in their recovery process. He said "money isn't a trigger, it's just money," just telling on how little he understands addiction. Please do better Stonington. And no, Im not sending an addict with 8 days clean cash.

You individuals are there for treatment, to get out of the old environment, strip off the old personalities with all it's complaining and garbage and focus on why you're truly there and make it work for you. Cultivate… endurance as it will be need in order for you to be successful in your endeavors. I pray nothing than less than the best for you all. My name is Stephen Hilliard and I'm a recovering addict. Shalom 🕎

Okay know there's stuff that work there but do any of them ever answer their phone or listen to any of their voicemails or get back to anybody seems like most of the voice mailboxes are full and I don't seem to get a… response so I'm just wondering if the staff are just ignoring the phones or what's the deal

That place is like jail only with less cameras, a couple of staff members are very clearly on drugs , I came there to be in a safe drug free environment and that place is neither of those. There’s black mold all over… the place , there’s 11 rooms in the mens unit and only two of them had air conditioning, nearly every phone is broke And they don’t fix them. I was truly shocked after my first full day there. I do not recommend this to anyone trying to get there life together and sober at all, there are other options. Use of of those

Would have given no stars if I could! Omg! Drugs, mj pens and prison tattoos being traded, bought and sold openly! People Screaming, fighting and bullying! No security or cameras! Total chaos! We heard the yelling and… fighting over the phone. When my husband pulled up a few hours later someone on a gurney was being loaded into an Ambulance. People yelling “ another OD”. We had been warned that OD’s were occurring on a regular basis but we didn’t believe it. A rehab counselor said she had picked up a client just the other day who said there was so much drugs and fighting that he asked if she could write an anonymous review for him. Do NOT send your loved one here! This place needs to be investigated ASAP! Nothing therapeutic about this place at all! They wanted us to send cash and set up an account with a tobacco merchant? I always sent cigs that were sealed! They got tons of drugs for sale inside but they’re worried about cigs that are sealed! And cash?

They do not have any idea what the hell they are doing! They say that are going to set you up a ride to get there and to call at this day and time to do so and then you can not get ahold of ANYONE going on two days now.… They do not answer the phones and when you try different numbers you just get bounced around by people all saying different things that contradict each other and with excessive amounts of attitude along with it.

This place was absolutely awful, overcrowded, staff was poor at best very dirty environment, Also this place comes off with a 100% jail Feel inside if you ever been in jail it’s all like that dorms with bunk beds the… food actually is better in jail and we all know what this means! Your treated as a number, and alllllll you do is wait in a long line to just get in another line please do not go here if you want actual help

This place is a joke. The staff treats the patients like trash. They expect you to send cash in an envelope for their needs but the money never makes it to the individual. The staff is on a power trip. They talk to the… patients disrespectfully. It’s unfortunate because some people really need the treatment and this discourages the patients from completing treatment.

These people do not care about your mental health. This place is honestly set up as a scam. They take your insurance money leave you wondering where is the help for your condition. It’s like a jail and there are no… camera. Gina is an aweful staff member and also has some racial issues.

Overall educational classes were very good aside from a small Portion of staff who are consistently concerned more about their egos than helping clients however I would still give them a 4/5 based on program syllabus… alone. My biggest issue is their total ineptitude and willingness to brush a covid outbreak under the rug. I saw the APRN daily for almost two weeks knowing that whatever I was sick with didn’t feel like anything I’d had before and was written 5-7 allergy meds(I’ve never get allergies so was pointless) and was basically told I’m a hypochondriac. They house up to 180 clients in one building, allow clients to admit from home/the streets/detox and do not require covid testing to be admitted nor do they provide testing while there or even allow people to receive outside medical attention or testing without being discharged from the program. 2-4 people were discharged per day for having fevers and they would have the same beds filled by the end up the day. I was very very ill for about 12 days before they finally sent me home at which point I tested positive for covid on the lab results. I have worked in detox’s and programs and understand that it’s a business that can’t survive for free, but it became apparent pretty quickly how much more concerned they are about collecting insurance money than the actual safety of their patients

I went to this place June 16th and got out August 5th.. time went by super fast bc of the “school” they have, this place helped me so much I’ve been sober ever since I got out.. I’ve also met such amazing people there… that I’m still talking to outside of the rehab, you walk to school which is the building in the picture or you can ride the van over and you go to school from Monday- Friday from 9-3 and weekends you stay at the institute. Thank you to all the staff that helped me get clean and stay clean, God bless you all.❤️

I was told id see thr dr within 48 hours after 5 days of waiting i left. Staff seemed like they couldnt be bother. I askex if i can get paperwork so i can get a follow up and i got the vibe i was trying to use it to get… drugs. Which i needed it for my prozac and so i can use it to get a primary appointment which i needed even more aftet bring around so many sick people. The bottle of prozac i came i with was never given to me and when i went to speak to someone about it they told me i couldn't be on the property. Detox was organized. Rehab is over populated and staff could use some work in not looking at us the same. Alot of assuming any not a place for anyone whos got half a brain. If thats what they go for too keep people off drugs than there doing a good job. Im not even trying to be mean but trust me its enough to make you say im never going back to one of these joints.
