How Much Does Treatment at Care Plus – Groton Cost?

Rehab paid for privately in Connecticut typically costs $8,000 to $15,000 a month for a partial hospitalization program and $1,500 to $6,000 a month for standard outpatient care. That is a guide only, as published prices for Care Plus were not found at the time of writing.

Standard inclusions are the intake assessment, group therapy and individual counseling. It is fair to assume Care Plus works the same way, but that is an assumption. Ask the facility which therapies and medications cost extra.

Had a very disappointing experience with Care Plus after i was referred to them by some clinicians. Their treatment seemed juvenile and their care did not seem personable. We also answered some weird questions like “do… you have mommy or daddy issues?” that just seemed off and out context to what i was actually there for. This place is a waste of money. In my case, they charged a $200 intake fee and a $30 copay. if insurance doesn’t cover the cost of the treatment, it would be $500 out of pocket per session for a 6-week program. I expected more from a company recommended by a hospital. p.s they sent me over 100 emails for canceling my next appointments.

The therapists here were incredible overall. Erica, Cheryl and Leah were amazing, Im so grateful that I had Careplus to turn to in my time of need. Unfortunately, my discharge from the program was the complete opposite.… I was given 24 hours notice by Nick that I would be discharged from the program without any debrief that would detail anything that I might need to do before leaving. Additionally, the doctors there refused to write a clearance letter for me to return to work, which I assumed they would do given they oversaw my care for two and a half months. The program director did provide me with proof that I had “graduated” but my work refused it. Given this inconvenience, I had to scramble to find a provider who would clear me for work. My PCP wouldn’t/couldnt, and my therapist said they would have to oversee my care for another week before clearing me. By the time I had been cleared, I had 7 unexcused and unprotected days from work. Now I’m fighting with my work/insurance to secure those days, otherwise I will be displaced from my position. Again, my overall experience was incredibly positive. My advice for anyone doing this program is to make sure you’re also staying up to date with another provider regarding your care. Just sucks that I did the right thing getting help, probably at the cost of my job.

CarePlus IOP Review — Complete Waste of Time and Money I attended the CarePlus IOP program and it was, without a doubt, one of the most unprofessional and useless experiences I’ve ever had in a clinical setting. From… billing scams to childish “therapy” sessions, this place is a joke. First, they tried to bill my insurance for two extra weeks of PHP after I had already been discharged, despite the fact that my absences (one for court, one for a verified emergency department visit) were legitimate and documented. Clear insurance fraud, plain and simple. As for the actual IOP sessions? Three hours long, but at least two of those hours were spent doing children’s games, coloring books, and silly exercises that had nothing to do with therapy or real recovery. The remaining time was “meditation,” which felt more like a way for the staff to pass the clock than to actually help anyone. This is not therapy — it’s daycare for adults. One of the group facilitators, Joshua S., was clearly inexperienced and unqualified to be leading these groups. He had no idea how to engage with clients respectfully or professionally. For example, despite me having ONE previous DUI and drinking moderately for a two-week period (3-4 shots a night), he argued with me for 15 minutes in front of the group, insisting I was an “alcoholic.” This was after I passed every drug screen except the first one and had zero issues stopping on my own with no withdrawal symptoms. Apparently, personal insight and self-control mean nothing when a “counselor” is more interested in labeling people than listening to them. Joshua seemed to get a kick out of publicly “cross-examining” clients over minor inconsistencies in their stories, details that had no relevance to their actual treatment. It felt more like an ego trip than therapy — a power move to make himself feel in control. Funny thing is, he openly admitted to smoking marijuana daily, but I doubt he’d appreciate being called a “pothead” in front of a group of his peers. I could have called him out, but unlike him, I’m not a man-child who takes things personally. CarePlus doesn’t care about real recovery. They care about billing insurance and playing games with people’s lives. If you’re serious about getting help, look elsewhere. This place is a factory, not a clinic.

I personally had a bad experience. I felt babied. also, I got mocked by a staff because I zoned out a lot. it looked like I was starring at people but I zoned out and couldn’t really help it. I hope it gets better there.

It's a business. A run around experience for me, they had me attend orientation 3 times in 2 months before starting because of scheduling screw ups. The day of my appointment they said they weren't expecting me... but… would do me a favor by penciling me in. While many individuals there were friendly and kind, the head coordinator and admitting doctor were callus so to say. I could only attend a certain number of days which did not fit with what they advised ( their advice was a more intensive, expensive program). Rather than work with my needs or as an individual they told me I had to attend the program they wanted or they wouldn't help me. Now, I know this assessment to be false because I use the SAME head, assessing doctor as my prescribing doctor at a different facility. It is sad to see programs operate like this, as an impersonal business instead of working to find someone the help or assistance they truly need or in appropriate cooperation with individuals. DON'T GO HERE.....IT'S FOR LACK OF OPTION in my area for peoples who need assistance. I've been to many programs and private companies such as this and I would rate this as VERY LOW. People come here because they HAVE TO for lack of insurance or options in health care or behavioral care. But, for those who are suffering and have no other options, it may seem a savior... sadly.
