Who owns ConnectiCare?

Molina Healthcare, Inc. of Long Beach, California owns ConnectiCare, having closed a $350 million purchase from EmblemHealth on February 1, 2025. The ConnectiCare brand, website and plan names continue in 2026. Molina served about 5.5 million members across 21 states at the end of 2025.

Since January 1, 2026, Marketplace and Medicare plans run on Molina systems, policies and formularies, while employer members with IDs starting with K stay on existing ConnectiCare processes through 2026.

Is ConnectiCare the same as EmblemHealth?

No, not any more. EmblemHealth owned ConnectiCare from 2006, after HIP of New York completed its buyout in 2005 and then merged with GHI, and sold the company to Molina Healthcare on February 1, 2025. ConnectiCare keeps its own brand and Connecticut plan names.

What states does ConnectiCare operate in?

Connecticut only. ConnectiCare sells plans in all eight counties: Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland and Windham. The SOLO plan network also reaches 28 New York counties and parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, although no plans are sold in those states.

Is ConnectiCare ending its Medicare plans?

Yes, ConnectiCare states that as of January 1, 2027 it will no longer offer Medicare coverage, and that all Medicare coverage ends December 31, 2026. Members are directed to Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE. Parent Molina said in February 2026 that the Medicare Advantage drug product no longer fits its dual-eligible focus.
