Treatment Centers in Connecticut That Accept ConnectiCare

ConnectiCare, a Connecticut health insurer owned by Molina Healthcare since February 1, 2025, covers drug and alcohol rehab on its Access Health CT plans, off-exchange SOLO plans, Covered Connecticut Program plans and employer plans. Optum manages the behavioral health benefit, and ConnectiCare’s Medicare Advantage plans end on December 31, 2026.

A ConnectiCare member scrolling these entries will see how to phone each program, what it treats people with, such as a residential stay, withdrawal care, intensive outpatient sessions or prescriptions, and accreditation status, CARF or Joint Commission, where a program has one. Public treatment registers and Connecticut license files supply the details. Then ask whether Optum counts the program in network.

Does ConnectiCare Cover Rehab in Connecticut?

Yes. ConnectiCare says mental health and substance use disorder treatment benefits are available through Optum to everyone on a ConnectiCare plan, dependents included, and members can go straight to a behavioral health clinician without a referral. Programs among the Connecticut drug rehab programs here that bill ConnectiCare health plans are listed below.

ConnectiCare sells plans only in Connecticut, in all eight of its historic counties, from Fairfield to Windham. Since January 1, 2026 its exchange and Medicare plans have run on Molina’s systems and formularies, while employer plans, whose member IDs begin with K, stay on ConnectiCare’s own processes through 2026. Optum Behavioral Health remains the behavioral health vendor.

Does ConnectiCare Cover Inpatient Rehab in Connecticut?

Yes. ConnectiCare’s 2026 Point of Service Open Access Individual Exchange Agreement covers inpatient care and residential addiction treatment, which it defines as facility-based, physician-directed programs, for substance use disorders. The 2026 SOLO high-deductible agreement covers inpatient substance use services as well, and both plans route these decisions through Optum’s Behavioral Health Program.

How long will ConnectiCare pay for residential rehab?

ConnectiCare’s plan documents set no fixed residential day count; Optum, acting as the delegated Behavioral Health Program, makes the medical necessity decisions. Optum states it uses The ASAM Criteria, fourth edition for adults on commercial plans since November 2023, so a stay continues while those criteria support the level of care.

Does ConnectiCare need prior authorization for inpatient rehab?

Yes. ConnectiCare’s exchange agreement tells members to call Optum at 1-888-946-4658 to request prior authorization before mental health or alcohol and substance use care, and inpatient behavioral health needs it unless the admission is an emergency. Optum’s clinical line for programs, 800-349-5365, takes higher-level-of-care requests around the clock.

Does ConnectiCare Cover Detox in Connecticut?

Yes. ConnectiCare covers medically managed detox programs within its inpatient substance use benefit, with Optum prior authorization unless the admission is an emergency, requested by the member or the program. On ConnectiCare’s Medicare plans, elective behavioral health admissions, including residential and sub-acute stays, need preauthorization through OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions during 2026, through December 31, when that coverage ends.

Does ConnectiCare Cover Outpatient Rehab in Connecticut?

Yes. The 2026 exchange agreement covers outpatient services, partial hospitalization treatment of at least 20 hours a week, and intensive outpatient programs, which the agreement’s mental health definition sets at three or more hours a day on at least two days a week. Telepsychiatry is a named benefit, and the Sanvello app is offered for self-help between visits.

ConnectiCare’s SOLO agreement for 2026 also covers partial hospitalization and day treatment, intensive outpatient programs, and behavioral telehealth, including online rehab and telehealth sessions with network clinicians. The 24-Hour Nurse Advice Line, 833-957-0169, TTY 711, answers questions about mental health or substance use needs at any hour.

Does ConnectiCare Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications?

Yes. CVS Caremark manages ConnectiCare prescriptions, and since January 1, 2026 exchange members use Molina’s Marketplace Formulary, published as ConnectiCare’s 2026 formulary. The SOLO agreement places addiction medication coverage under its drug therapy benefit, and the pharmacy prior authorization line for exchange plans is 888-407-6425.

Does ConnectiCare cover Suboxone?

Yes, through the plan’s formulary. Suboxone, Sublocade, Brixadi, Zubsolv and Vivitrol did not appear on ConnectiCare’s 2025 medical-benefit preauthorization list, which covered commercial, exchange and Medicare plans. For the 2026 tier of Sublocade with insurance or Suboxone film, members search the Molina-based drug list or call 800-251-7722.

Does ConnectiCare cover methadone?

Yes, for Medicare members in 2026, whose preauthorization list includes opioid treatment program codes and methadone administration among services needing approval in advance. Methadone was not on the 2025 commercial and exchange medical preauthorization list, so exchange members using methadone maintenance clinics should ask Optum how the plan pays.

ConnectiCare Rehab Centers Near Rocky Neck, Eastern Lakes and the Quinebaug River

ConnectiCare’s exchange plans are point-of-service designs that pay a non-network program a reduced rate based on a maximum allowable amount, and out-of-network referrals need prior authorization except in emergencies. Its off-exchange SOLO HMO plans stay in network, so the program must be in Optum’s network. ConnectiCare says every Connecticut hospital is in network.

ConnectiCare rehab near Rocky Neck and the eastern shoreline

Rocky Neck in East Lyme, Ocean Beach in New London and the beaches of Old Lyme line the eastern stretch of Long Island Sound. ConnectiCare members considering rehab centers by the beach or treatment programs in New London and nearby Waterford use the same Optum number for authorization.

ConnectiCare rehab near eastern Connecticut lakes

Lake Pocotopaug in East Hampton and Lake Hayward near Colchester are summer lake towns between the Connecticut River and the Quiet Corner. ConnectiCare members looking at lake-area rehab programs or Colchester treatment options can ask Optum whether a program is in the behavioral network before a residential stay.

ConnectiCare rehab along the Quinebaug River

The Quinebaug River runs south through Putnam, Danielson and Jewett City in Windham and New London counties. A ConnectiCare member using rehab programs near rivers or Moosup treatment services has the same exchange benefit there as in Hartford, since every ConnectiCare service area covers all eight counties.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts ConnectiCare in Connecticut?

Browse the listings on this page. ConnectiCare is taken by each program shown, and each card has the phone, the services and accreditation. Narrowing by town, care level or substance lets a member line a program up with the care a clinician has suggested, before making the call.

Before a ConnectiCare member enters inpatient or residential care, Optum has to authorize it, on a call the member places or the program makes after intake. Member services, on 800-251-7722 on weekdays, answers questions about deductibles, copays and other benefits. The table lists ConnectiCare’s 2026 plan lines and the number each one uses.

ConnectiCare rehab in Farmington, Manchester and Greater Hartford

ConnectiCare runs two walk-in ConnectiCare Centers in Hartford County, at 175 Scott Swamp Road in Farmington and 1487 Pleasant Valley Road in Manchester, open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for help with plans and benefits. Members there can sort out coverage questions before choosing Manchester rehab centers or Newington addiction programs.

ConnectiCare rehab in New Haven and West Haven

ConnectiCare sells Choice and Value Covered Connecticut Program plans, a Department of Social Services program with no monthly premium for adults 19 to 64 with incomes at or below 175 percent of the poverty line who are ineligible for HUSKY Health. Eligible New Haven residents can use West Haven treatment programs on those plans.

ConnectiCare rehab in Stamford, Greenwich and Fairfield County

ConnectiCare’s SOLO plans, sold directly rather than through Access Health CT, use a network that covers Connecticut, 28 New York counties and parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. A Fairfield County member on SOLO can compare Stamford rehab programs with network programs across the New York line.

ConnectiCare rehab in Norwich and Southeastern Connecticut

ConnectiCare Medicare members, including those on Choice Dual, Choice, Flex and Passage HMO-POS plans, keep their coverage only until December 31, 2026, after Molina decided to leave the Medicare Advantage drug plan market for 2027. Members near Jewett City recovery services or Norwich need a new Medicare plan, from another carrier, by January 1, 2027.

Can I use ConnectiCare for rehab in a different state?

Sometimes. ConnectiCare’s POS plans pay less for non-network care, and out-of-network referrals need prior authorization except in emergencies, so a program in another state may be covered at that reduced level. SOLO members have network programs in parts of New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island as well.

How much does rehab cost with ConnectiCare?

ConnectiCare costs are set in each plan’s schedule of benefits. The 2026 SOLO plans pair high deductibles with a flat copay for mental health office visits on the HMO designs and 25 percent coinsurance after the deductible on the POS HSA design. Out-of-network programs may bill the difference above ConnectiCare’s maximum allowable amount.

Is ConnectiCare ending its Medicare plans?

Yes. ConnectiCare states that from January 1, 2027 it will no longer offer Medicare coverage and that all its Medicare coverage ends on December 31, 2026. Molina said in February 2026 that this product no longer fits its plan to focus on members with both Medicare and Medicaid. ConnectiCare’s other plans continue.

ConnectiCare is one of the ways Connecticut residents pay for drug and alcohol rehab. Listings here also include programs that accept Medicaid for treatment through HUSKY Health and sliding scale outpatient rehab for anyone between plans or waiting for coverage to start. Access Health CT, the state exchange, handles enrollment in ConnectiCare’s exchange plans and in HUSKY Health.
