Natchaug Hospital Inc – Old Saybrook

It was horrible. I went there for school and for mental health. The mental health program wasn’t bad but the teacher Mrs. Kimberly Galdenzi was horrible. She’s such a stuck up brat who isn’t willing to admit when she… makes mistakes. Brought me to tears at a field trip just because I did something she didn’t like that wasn’t even bad. I don’t recommend this place. If anything… it added to my depression and anxiety.

My kid went there for a while, things were looking brighter at home, until he had a crisis. Instead of helping him thru his emotions, they'd called me to pick him up, then discharged him saying basically they're not… equipped to deal with children in crisis. What also did not help was the complete lack of reliable transportation. A few days my child was left waiting in their schools office for hours with no communication that the ride was delayed or once canceled. Taking around 2.5 hours to get my child home was also damaging to an already fragile child.

I was nine when I was sent here. Whenever I stepped out of line even a little bit, they would force me to go into the lobby and write "I will not (whatever I 'did wrong')" 20 times on a piece of paper with a dull pencil… when I could barely write, this happened every day to the point where I wasn't even getting treatment. I was held down by 4 people while screaming for my mother and I thank God that she came when she did. Never send your child to this hellhole.
