UPDATE: still after a few years, one of the worst hospitals and most of the staff are rude and slow. No urgency I recently stayed for a 4day study on epilepsy.. first day food and meds were late. I asked my nurse about… getting meds at my usual time and was told no problem. Next day, food and meds late again with some of my meds not included and never got that day. When I asked my nurse she said she would check on it and never returned with that med the entire rest of my stay. With no sleep and missing important meds for me, I feel awful and very emotional. I was told I would have left around noon an hour later still nothing and they keep saying they'll let my nurse know. This is not how people should be treated. Then a lady came in and said "it's not this department and they'll be down here at 1:30". These people have no respect for anyone. The hospital and staff are money driven and it shows. When they took the leads off from my head they rubbed with cotton balls and polish remover so hard and pulled out so much of my hair.

Worst hospital. Been here 8 hours sitting in a chair waiting to get released and not only am I still hurting from what I came in for. Now my neck and back are hurting cause of the chair. They keep saying waiting on… results from an ultrasound I took almost 3 hours ago. It doesn't take that long. Got here at 1045 pm. It's now 657 am. I want released. NOW

The absolute worst hospital in tri-state was there a couple months ago over stomach issues and rapid whieght loss. They was about to discharge me without running any test then finally asked my name. Turns out I was the… wrong patient They were discharging.

Absolutely Horrible now. The food was awful, and they told my daughter she would need to stay overnight. Than they have kept us were going on 4 days now. My daughter is a Type 1 diabetic she wears a pump and sensor and… a nurse here tried to give her more insulin, and a shot for blood clots.( Don't know why) Because she's up walking around. Than one Dr came in and didn't know anything about a diabetic pump . There's alot of confusion around here. The nurses don't know what there doing. I have never seen it this Bad like it is.

Farmers treat their livestock better than these people treated my wife. They deprived her for days of medicine she has been on for several years. All they could say is they are waiting on the pharmacy. They couldn't… even meet the most basic need of a hospital; to supply medicine. They didn't communicate that they had found a.problem and planned for a surgery. I guess they just wanted to wait a whole day to surprise her the next morning. The nurses allowed her mom to go get food for her, but then refused to allow the food in when her mom returned shortly afterwards. Horrific communication and zero respect for patients. The people she dealt with while being admitted we're very nice, but very much the rest of the two days were a horror show. I'm not a good communicator and I'm sure I'm leaving out a lot of key details, other factors, and nuance. So let me put it like this I wouldn't even bring my pet hamster here for care.

A maze to find your way to the check in area… You can’t park within 100 yards of the hospital… Was supposed to have a surgery at 9:45am, it’s currently 10:50am, and still waiting in the waiting area. All the bathrooms… on the surgery floor are out of order, forcing me to take an elevator to another floor, and walk 200yards to the nearest bathroom. Windows are crusty and dusty with residue from who knows what for who knows how long. Employees just standing around/sitting on their phones or talking amongst one another, and not friendly when asked questions. Go somewhere else. update : still in the waiting room at 11:30am.

I came in with stomach pain. Was told I needed an EKG. I refused because again stomach pain. Made me sign out AMA and when I tried to complain and ask for an attending, as I was seen by a PA, I had security called on… me. This hospital is a piece of crap. I wish there was a different one closer.

I went into kings daughters ER because i have been dealing with severe pressure in my skull and vision periodically going black. The only thing that was done was a lab test and an Xray. The doctor Lucas Lemons couldn't… give me any answers to what could be causing this out of the blue. I would have thought a CT would have been done or even look at my eyes to see if anything was abnormal. I didnt receive any fluids via IV until i was signing my discharge papers. It just felt like there was no help to find this issue and i was just being pushed out the door so they can get more people in. Not to even mention how dirty the ER was. As i was walking back to my Xray i saw bloody paper towels just in the hallway and another employee jokingly say "i promise we're clean"

There is a specific old woman who works in the psychiatric intake area. She is rude, unempathetic, and appears to be uneducated. When I was in the intake area she didn't listen to what I had to say and went out of her… way to escalate the situation. I was held down and given an unknown medication with a dirty needle without my consent at the orders of this old woman. The psych unit later tried to get me to allow them to perform blood work on me due to using a dirty needle. I am completely traumatized and will not be returning here for any psychiatric needs.

My Son has had several cat scans done there and the receptionists and the people that do the cat scans were great. He didn't have to wait very long to get it done and they didn't take long to get him his disc of the cat… scan to bring home with him. They are great there.

SCARY ! is all I can say. It seems since UK has taken over the care is worse. I am in the medical field and I am embarrassed by the care my spouse received. - Physician came in stating he had been caring for my spouse… the whole time and we had never seen him he got my husband confused with another patient. -Tried to give my husband 60 units of insulin that he has not been on in over 15 years. -Asked my husband about his MS diagnosis. He has never been diagnosed with MS. Lucky my husband is with it and asked questions. -Still no answer to the reason we went to the ER in the first place. Nursing was acceptable night shift nursing lazy and don't want to do anything. Husband was told when he signed his AMA DC to get off the property and don't return. That is a nice way to treat someone you have been treating bad in the first place.

I had the worst medical experience of my life at this emergency room Friday night. I went in with a smashed pinky finger, I sat in the emergency room for 7 hours with absolutely no help. They didn’t clean or bandage my… wounds or even check on me after getting an emergency room. They took an xray within the first hour of me being there then 7 hours later they still weren’t ready. I walked out at 1 am since I wasn’t getting treated or any medicine attention. I called back at 10 am the next morning and the X-rays still weren’t ready! Absolutely horrible experience and do not recommend this facility. I went to a SOMC urgent care the next morning and they helped me, took care of my wounds and had X-rays done within a hour of me being there

Wish there were negative stars!!! Don't go here if possible!! It's a full on money first, your health later atmosphere. Not all Dr.s are bad but not worth my time. I'll drive elsewhere for my healthcare!!!!

My husband has been in dka a couple of times. The last time we went we had to be in an ER room for 16 hours, before he got a room upstairs. Everytime we've been here they never give guest trays it's like pulling teeth… even with telling the nurses, food service, writing on tickets. I wrote on every single ticket the day prior so i had food the next day and they ERASED where I asked for a guedt tray. That is horrible. Giving 4 stars for his nurse and aide we had AND when hes been here they have taken good care of him. Need more staff tho and better communication.

There are times when you have medical problems and just hate to go to a medical facility for any length of time. In the last two months I have at 2 separate times had to have surgery. I was in 3c, 4th and 5th floor of… Heart Vascular. The nurses and help on those 3 floors were the absolute best at taking care of their patients. I want to thank all of the angels that took care of me. KDMC have some of if not the best at what they do. Thank you so much for all you do.

My mother has been a patient at KDMC until moving on to hospice care. I cannot say enough great things about all of the staff who helped take care of her. The only negative I have for this hospital is the visitor name… stickers. The glue ruined one of my shirts. I hope an alternative can be found because the glue on those stickers are terrible for some materials.
