UPMC Mercy Hospital – Pittsburgh Detox and Rehab Services

UPMC Mercy Hospital – Pittsburgh carries a listing for detox and residential treatment. Supervised withdrawal comes first, with the greatest danger in the opening seventy-two hours. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

UPMC Mercy Hospital – Pittsburgh Address, Location and Contact Information

Records give the address as 1400 Locust Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15219. This address falls in Allegheny County. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.

It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

My mom is 80 years old, and ER wait times are unnecessarily long. Waiting three hours in the emergency room is serious — it's no fun. Patients are already unwell, and making them wait from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm only… worsens their condition. We've seen others arrive after us and get seen first. I asked the front desk lady in a black dress about this; she told me, "It’s not like first come, first served; it's random, and those who are sicker are prioritized." It seemed as if she was naive, implying everyone in that room has some issues. It’s not just about money, sir.

While sitting in the hallway with my mom, who was there a second time in a few days because they didn't treat her fully the first time, I had the pleasure of overhearing multiple alarming conversations. The first was… about COVID vaccines, where it seemed multiple workers there were bragging at how little they got them. Second was someone who came in suffering from addiction, looking for a fentanyl taper so she can get herself clean. The nurse bragged about how her and the doctor laughed at the patient and proceeded to ridicule her.

My dad is Oncology patient. I took my Dad to ER because he has stomach pain. I did explain everything to front desk ladies but they said they can’t help. We waited for 2 hours for ER Bed and they still says they don’t… have bed for him but peoples who’s came before us? They had bed and they called them but not us. I had to returned him at home and I called hospital ambulance.

My two experiences with Mercy Hospital are bad. The first one was when I went there for surgery. They were understaffed with nurses for the over night rooms so I spent the night in recovery. I am a tall person and the… bed was too short with me. In place of a nurse asking another nurse about a different bed or if it can be adjusted they blamed me for laying in the bed wrong. It wasn't till the afternoon when they moved me into a room that the nurse in charge of over night rooms adjusted my bed. My second experience was when I went to St. Marget's Hillman Cancer center for a check up and my oncologist saw how bad I was leaking from my wounds and sent me to the ER there. The doctor who did my surgery wouldn't let St. Margaret's scan me or anything. Told them to tell me to come in after 2 weeks of not returning my calls. I show up the following day and the doctor sees me for a total of 5 minutes and sends me to the ER there to do exactly what St. Margaret's wanted to do. Well the they did scan me. But then a doctor came to look at my wounds and removed my bandages to see how bad my wounds were leaking. Didn't say much of anything or redress my wounds. I had to take the medical supplies I had in my back pack and in the ER hallway in front of nurses and the doctors redress my own surgical wounds. They scanned me said they found nothing but switched to worrying about my lungs. Long story short they gave me blood thinners, and kicked me out of the ER without fixing my main issue of my wounds leaking. It has been a week and I am still trying to get in contact about my wounds leaking... On week 3 of my surgery. No one is calling me back. I would rather risk my life to go to a different hospital than go back to Mercy hospital.

The neurologist there is too kind. She knows what she is doing for certain! Showed me my perfect brainscan with only an overactive auditory cortex. She inspired me to research more about every part of a totally healthy… 26 year old brain. Science is cool when it's properly trained.

Severely understaffed. Waited over an hour, almost two, for an in person appointment. Phone call appointment is also not on time, and no notification to patients without me calling them that the Dr is running behind.… Hire more people to have adequate coverage for your patients. edit: still waiting on a phone call, for an hour and a half…

My family member was here Thursday evening until Friday morning. The doctor and the nurse that to care of him was very kind and helpful. I appreciate that . My family member teared up because they said someone took the… time to see and hear him and act on it in a professional way. In the emergency department. . They usually they would be mean and not believe him. But I m glad that these lady's did so thank you. My advice would be show compassion to all the patients know matters how they appear to you. It goes a long way.

I had to pick up my inlaws here so my review is limited to that. The emergency entrance requires walking through a metal detector and wand search. No big deal. The security guard was polite and quick. Everyone I… encountered was helpful and friendly so I can't say anything bad about it. The only bad thing was leaving the emergency room parking lot. You can see many people scrape the front ends of their cars when exiting. It's a really tight left turn. I have a CUV and I just made it without backing up and going at it twice. It's bad. But that's just how it was built. The rest of the emergency parking garage is very well lit and I felt safe.

The hospital takes good care of the patients, but every single employee here (check in, valet) have really bad attitudes. They dont want to be inconvienced to do their jobs (ya know that they're being paid to do!!)… HORRIBLE!! God forbid you not be familiar with the area.

My name is Angelo, I’m 23 and I got into a terrible car accident and it ended with my braking one of my ribs, right arm, and right leg. Becca and Cassie were one of the two nicest people I’ve ever met in my entire life.… They went out of their way to rebuild my confidence in regaining my strength, to walk and feel like me again. They went BEYOND their jobs to make me feel better. Without them I genuinely felt like I was worthless. Those two nurses need to be recognized for this. Can’t thank them enough and I’ll never forget them.
