This location is amazing. All the staff is aways so kind and helpful. Very patient. I have not had any bad experience here. Me and my 4 kids get several services here. And they even remember us by name. They would get… 10 stars from us if there were 10 to give.
I was essentially forced to come here because I'm on Medicaid and, with the specific insurance I have, my options for mental health care are extremely limited. I've been coming here for about a year and have already had… three different therapists. My first therapist retired. My second therapist told me that my grief was something I could basically “get over.” I strongly disagree with that. Grief doesn't simply disappear because enough time passes. I've spoken with people who lost someone they loved ten years ago and still feel the effects of that loss. Grief exists because there was love for that person, and after they're gone, that love doesn't suddenly disappear. My experience with my third therapist has been frustrating in a different way. She told me herself that she only took me on as a client because I seemed like I was under significant distress. Hearing that made me feel less like a client she genuinely wanted to work with and more like a charity case she took because I appeared to be struggling badly enough. Scheduling has made that feeling worse. I work, and the appointment times I'm being limited to—around 3:00 or 4:00 p.m.—interfere with my work schedule. My therapist has later appointments available, including around 5:00 p.m., but she told me that she gives those later times priority to clients with private insurance because she gets paid more for those clients than she does for clients with Medicaid. I understand that Medicaid reimbursement may be lower than private insurance. I don't control that, and neither does any other patient receiving Medicaid. What I do have a problem with is being made to feel that my time and my mental health care matter less because my insurance pays less. I don't expect special treatment. I expect to be treated with the same dignity and respect as any other person seeking mental health care. Being told that I was only taken on because I appeared to be in distress, while also being told that privately insured clients receive priority for more desirable appointment times because they pay more, has left me feeling like an inconvenience and a charity case rather than a patient who matters. What makes this especially difficult for me is something my therapist herself said: she talked about how a person who is struggling to the point of wanting to end their life can feel isolated, like an inconvenience, or like a burden. I found that statement interesting because those are exactly the kinds of feelings that this experience has created for me. I'm not saying that anyone intended for me to feel this way, but I think a mental health provider should seriously consider the impact of telling a vulnerable client that other clients receive priority because their insurance pays more. If we recognize that feeling like a burden, an inconvenience, or less important can be dangerous for someone who is already struggling, then mental health care should be one of the places where we are especially careful not to reinforce those feelings. I've been coming here because my insurance leaves me with no alternatives, not because this is the quality of care I would choose for myself. I shouldn't have to feel grateful simply because someone agreed to see me while I was distressed, and I shouldn't feel like my care matters less because Medicaid reimburses less than private insurance.
Wasatch does nothing to help you. Medicaid only allows you to see Wasatch behavioral health in utah County. Wasatch will not help you. They will not help with Social Security benefits. They will not help with ESA'S… (Emotional Support Animals). They just help you get more medicated. Do not go through them!
Amazing
Giving two stars only because the receptionist was very nice. I showed up 15 minutes prior to my appointment, as asked, to fill out paperwork. I was then informed at my appointment time (9:00) that the person I was to… meet with wouldn’t be in until 9:30. I sat around waiting until I finally asked the receptionist if I would be done by 10:30 because I had somewhere else to be around 11:00. I was informed that if the intake therapist was there by 9:30 then yes because the appointment takes an hour. 9:30 passes and the intake therapist is still not there. I wait until 9:45 and guess what? Still not there. That’s an hour of my time wasted and 45 minutes into my appointment time wasted. I finally just had to leave because I couldn’t wait around forever, and I couldn’t even be rescheduled until a week later. This is my first impression of this place, and honestly this is a horrible first impression to make on a new patient. They only get one extra star because the front desk was super nice. She was very apologetic which she didn’t need to be because this wasn’t her fault.
I've gone through many therapists because they can't keep their Mormon religion out of therapy.
Just meh. Nothing really special to be honest.
Have you noticed their response to every negative review on here? "Thank you for your feedback. Due to Federal HIPAA and 42CFR regulations we are unable to respond or comment on reviews" That should tell you all you… need to know about this horrible place. HIPAA is NOT a shield for poor service. It's a tragedy that mental health is not handled better in this country.
I feel like I can't trust therapist if they not gonna bring it up or even talk to me about it this is the second time I had to deal with this im at that point where I can't trust them two stars for me
Lisa is amazing! She really goes the extra mile for her patients.
We’ve had a very positive experience over all with Wasatch behavioral health. The front desk is always helpful for me and my kids. Zach has been a consistent, all-around fabulous counselor for my family for years now.… Knowledgeable, encouraging. I also come here for medication providers for myself and I’m continuously impressed with how relatable they are, empathic, and willing to listen so we can work together. I’m grateful for this whole group. Thank you for being here!
I’ve had great experiences working with Sharday at the front desk. She genuinely cares about my children and she gets things done accurately and quickly.
I'm sad at how complicated it is to have intake or first visits to get help . Sometimes people come here in crisis because they can't handle the psych ward. I can't imagine how many people are no longer with us because… of the hoops and loops this place has for patients . I'm really disappointed. It should be way easier to see somebody and get help asap instead of specific dates and times . It makes zero sense .
Great therapy
Wonderful people, very kind considerate and caring. My therapist has been very knowledgeable and has helped me in so many ways. Very effective therapy.
EDIT: I've had a few bad experiences here. The worst was when I was recommended to see someone who specialized in trauma only to hear from them that religious trauma is a "buzzword" and that trauma is something only… sexual assault victims and veterans experience. From the person I was recommended to see for my religious trauma. They've done some construction and now the lobby is very nice with lots of space. I've been receiving amazing care from my therapist here. Would definitely recommend.
This location has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Very rude and unprofessional staff. Can’t keep appointments, but won’t let you change the ones you have. Being extremely rude to clients who are in medical… crisis. THIS IS NOT OKAY.
I saw Lanice Hollingsworth and she was terrible. My prior therapist here was great. She really helped me and I always felt positive after our appointments. In general my experience with WBH has been pretty good for the… most part. My experience with Lanice was horrible however. I was refered to her to work on my trauma through EMDR. Our first appointment she started to push going to church on me even though I am not religious and have had traumatic experiences with the LDS church. She frequently made hurtful comments and seemed to be judging things I said, which made me feel uncomfortable opening up to her. On one occasion she said I functioned like a 5 year old. If I brought up a traumatic experience she would instantly jump to pushing me to do emdr during that appointment without first making sure I was mentally prepared for it, or teaching me any coping skills to help me regulate my anxiety. Our final appointment was terrible. I hadn't seen her in a few months due to scheduling conflicts on both our parts. When I came in for our appointment she had her foot resting on the couch next to me, and asked how my recent vacation was. I told her it was good but brought up something that was bothering me. Again she jumped right into trying to do emdr and I told her I was uncomfortable with that. I could tell that made her angry and she told me if I wasn't going to do EMDR then she couldn't see me as a client anymore. I was fine with that and told her I didn't think EMDR was the right kind of therapy for me and that I didn't want to waste either of our time, and that I thought I needed ERP therapy for my OCD instead. She then went into a rant about how "great" of a therapist she was, and that she had just came back from Alaska where she did some training or conference and had done training with the Alpine School district. She also told me not to "waste my money" on another therapist. She then referred me to do DBT group therapy in provo, knowing I was unable to go all the way to provo due to not having a baby sitter at that time which I told her. I left that appointment in tears. Her final email to me reads as follows. "You are more than welcome to return to individual therapy at anytime. When you feel you are ready to take part and participate, let me know. I would be happy to make arrangements for you - with me or with someone else." This after telling me not to waste my money on another therapist. I was reluctant to leave this review but the fact I'm still thinking about it 2 years later shows how awful and traumatic my experience with her was. I personally not recommend her specifically.
I was very hesitant to come here based on the reviews but it was the only place my insurance would cover, and I needed help so I gave it shot. I was honestly surprised how well I was treated and how kind and patient the… staff are. I’ve worked with two of the therapists so far and both of them have been amazing. Things are very confusing at first due to the intake process, but they really try their best to make things go as smoothly as possible. I personally recommend this place and I’ve been very pleased with my experience.
Craig was amazing! My son is very shy and Craig made it very easy for him to open up.
This place has been terrible to work with. They make appointments and then close your file so you have to redo the intake. Then when you call and complain, they backstep and tell you it was a misunderstanding. The only… thing reliable is they're inconvenient inconsistent difficult way of doing things. Its disrespectful to their clients and hurts people. What's worse, they promise help is there and it's not. Find someplace else. It may save your life.
These people are impossible to work with. They make appointments and then close your file. They have no respect for people and they promise help that isn't there! Find someplace else for help.
I have had nothing but good experiences at this place. Amanda the receptionist is amazing, knows who I am before I even say because she recognizes my voice. Marci Lidtke is an awesome as a prescriber and I would totally… recommend her, along with April Knight and Janice Byer as therapists are great too! I've never had a bad experience at Wasatch. Thank you ALL staff. Oh and I about forgot therapist Sam too is awesome!
Craig Limb has literally "gone to bat" to help my daughter who has some severe mental health challenges. He took it upon himself to review her previous paperwork and testing and called agencies to find more options for… her. He has been kind, patient, and dedicated to helping us find the best outcomes for her. I highly recommend Craig and his team.
I attended this clinic, more On than off for over 9 years, most of the therapist where Amazing, front desk great at reminding you your scheduled appointments. I was very happy and I attended for 3 years in a row the… Family Workshop. Until the stepmom talked to my kids therapist without my consent! it was great. I'll always love Kelli and Sandy!
The therapist my 7 year old son was seeing for behavioral problems related to ADHD was horrible. My son liked him, but he didn't really help with how to handle some of his behavioral issues and what bothered me the most… was that there was no communication or responses to my emails from him. And "email" was his preference in response to any questions I had or help I needed. He also flaked on our appts more than 4 times and never got a psych evaluation for my son that he told me he would work on asap. Their staff at this specific location has always been very rude and short. I just feel like I wasted a lot of our time there.
Absolutely terrible! The therapist who works with my son totally overstepped his bounds and has caused even more stress for my 13-year-old to deal with. This isn’t a mental health clinic, it’s a zoo. Don’t go here, save… your sanity! I am so appalled!
