About YCSP – Alfred
YCSP operates from 147 Shaker Hill Road in Alfred. The site sits in York County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Sanford. The practical catchment runs wider than the city limits, taking in people who travel in rather than finding care on their doorstep.
Residential treatment and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at YCSP
Residential treatment and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers.

YCSP Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 147 Shaker Hill Road, Alfred, ME 04002, in York County. The catchment reaches Sanford. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

How Much Does Treatment at YCSP Cost?
Rehab paid for privately in Maine typically costs $1,610 to $5,110 for a week of medical detox, $6,000 to $25,000 a month for residential treatment and $1,300 to $5,000 a month for standard outpatient care. That is a guide only, as published prices for YCSP were not found at the time of writing.
Standard inclusions are accommodation, meals, medical monitoring, the intake assessment, group therapy and individual counseling. It is fair to assume YCSP works the same way, but that is an assumption. Ask the facility which therapies and medications cost extra.

No other place so accommodating...
Alfred County Shelter has been in York county for decades. Recently it closed. It has been a place to plant my feet until recently, now there are a group including myself and, we live in a dormitory; it works, for me… since I'll be takeing some classes and, lets me conclude BY SAYING FOR SEEING ME AND, BE FRIENDING PEACE RYAN
I love everything that York County Shelter Programs stands for and is trying to do, but for 17 years they keep placing drug addicts and dealers right in the middle of a neighborhood full of children. Enough is enough… !!!!
Good ppl. Competent Staff. The program works for those who are ready to accept the help and direction back to long term housing.
says open 24 hrs.. its 1030am, doors are locked, no one answering when rining door bell and no one answering the phone... just trying to donate some baby stuff to help out..
What a wonderful organization to work with. I was able to make several donations to the gem and they were so gracious. Considering doing volunteer work for them. Staff was exceptional
Don't deal with them
Great not for profit company thats 100% volunteer based company. They do a lot of great thing's in the community and for the community of York County. One of the amazing thing's they do is offer a Drug and Alcohol… Rehabilitation Center free of charge to York County residents. They also offer a Men and Woman's Shelter in Alfred, ME. I cannot say enough good things about this place. They do an amazing job and I really hope they keep up the amazing job they do, do because they are truly the very BEST at all they do for the community and the people in York County. I'm happy to say I was once part of some of the things York County Shelter Program's do. They have forever changed my life for the very best and thats exactly what they aim to do is to better people and their lives. :)
I attend counseling & Dr's appointments which are more convenient for all of on the grounds of YCSP 😎
Idk what Google wants me to rate, I only visited their site ONCE inquiring about something for someone else
Went there 14 years ago. Place was a joke; run by guys who like to make you feel inferior about your alcohol and drug problem so they could control you. Hope those people are gone now. All they did was tell everyone… that they didn't know. That the people they took in never had it as bad as them. Then they'd have me do dishes at the bakery which I loved, but the power trip they held over me about it was retarded. I think that they wanted to be lock up turnkeyes but didn't get the job so they work there instead. Good luck. Hope you got your act together.
As far as shelters go this one is the Hilton! Amazing staff and very helpful for rapid housing!
York County shelter program, nice place. The two photos with the red building and white trim is the nearby Shaker Museum. Which has a lot of shaker history. Which is a nice place to.
The program is good. They do an excellent job providing service to our clients and the community. I like to get stuff at the bakery there, whenever I am in the area. They made the most awesome bread with orange, fennel… and almond...but sadly, they no longer make it 😔 The other stuff they make is top quality as well...so I continue to give my support when I am able 🤗
There's
Hated it.
This place is run by people who don’t communicate with each other. If you ask a question, you get no answer, because they never know anything or you get a totally different response from someone else. Who are you Sutton… believe? They wake you up at 6am for Med call with breakfast at 7:30am. The food is too salty which affects many people there with swelling of the legs. The portions are huge! Too much for the average person. Never any juice. The coffee is ok, but the coffeemaker probably hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. You have to do chores. I scrubbed pots and pans for a week and it killed my back. When I said something about it, I was told that I may have to do it again if my name came up on the chore list again. There is no respect for requests like this and they have people to leave if you don’t comply. This place asks you to pay 30% of your income to stay in an old Quonset hut with possible mold. If you’re sick and hacking up a lung, there are no masks to help protect the other residents. The germs just fly so that others can get the illness too. Overall animals are better treated by the SPCA!!!!
great people
Stick and pushy but if u want to get off the streets definitely better then walk in the shelter where u have to leave all day plus they drug test and they give u breathalyzer so great place to get clean and stay clean J
Well maintained with a wonderful purpose
